Chapter 314: Panic at the Auction
The auction hall was in chaos.
The moment Lord L’s voice transmission ended, the entire room exploded with whispers.
Nobles, warriors, and high-ranking officials murmured among themselves.
They were still stunned by what had just happened.
“Did that really just happen?”
“He mocked Varen to his face, called his auction a failure, and then just… left?”
“No, no, forget Varen! Did you hear what he said to the audience?! He outright mocked us!”
A wealthy merchant slammed his fist on the table, his face red with frustration.
“That arrogant bastard! He just called everyone weak!”
Another noble, an experienced beast tamer, let out a chuckle.
“You have to admit… he has guts.”
His friend, an older warrior, laughed and shook his head.
“Guts? That’s not just guts. That’s madness. He openly insulted his own future customers.”
The younger, less experienced nobles fumed.
“Who the hell does he think he is?! If he wants people to buy his beasts, why insult them first?!”
“Yeah! Who would go to his auction after being called weak?!”
But—
Some of the seasoned elites smirked.
“You fools don’t get it, do you?”
“What do you mean?”
The older noble leaned back, crossing his arms with a smirk.
“Lord L isn’t just mocking us. He’s setting a challenge.”
The crowd froze.
Another high-ranking beast tamer nodded in agreement.
“Think about it. Instead of begging for customers, he’s doing the opposite.”
“He’s saying—if you’re strong enough, come. If you’re not, stay away.”
“Tch… that’s crazy…”
“Yeah. And that’s exactly why people will go.”
Another warrior let out a deep chuckle.
“Everyone in this hall has pride. After today, people will be desperate to prove themselves worthy.”

A rich merchant frowned, his face still red.
“But what if people refuse out of spite? Wouldn’t that backfire on him?”
A noble scoffed.
“Don’t be stupid. If Luxoria Castle really has another SS-Rank beast better than Titanhoof, people won’t care about the insult. They’ll want the beast.”
Sylvia Aurelius, still watching from her VIP suite, smirked.
“He’s good.”
She twirled her wine glass, amusement in her eyes.
“Very good.”
Raiven Valefor, still calm as ever, chuckled.
“Lord L just embarrassed Varen in his own house, mocked his own customers, and still managed to make them want his product.”
He shook his head.
“That’s not arrogance. That’s strategy.”
Varen, still frozen at the auction stage, his face paled with rage.
He had heard every whisper, every laugh, every insult thrown at him.
His hands clenched so tightly that they turned white.
He had just been humiliated.
Publicly.
but suddenly, the voice transmission was turned back on.
The moment the audience heard the familiar voice again, their bodies tensed.
Lord L only chuckled and amused.
“Ah, I almost forgot. Before I leave… I should give you all a little gift for your wonderful hospitality.”
The crowd stiffened, a sense of unease creeping into their bones.
Then—
CRASH!
Lord L’s VIP room’s glass wall was broken by something.
The object landed dead center in the auction hall with a loud THUD.
A red crystal.
It pulsed ominously, the glow inside it swirling with an unknown energy.
The moment it landed, the audience instinctively stepped back.
Varen’s eyes widened as he glared at the crystal.
“What the hell is that?!”
Lord L’s voice echoed once again.
“Oh, that? That’s just my specially crafted bomb.”
The room fell silent.
Even Raiven and Sylvia, who had been enjoying the chaos, immediately frowned.
“A… bomb?” Sylvia muttered.
Lord L’s voice remained relaxed.
“You better get out before it explodes in five minutes.”
The crowd snapped.
“WHAT?!”
“A BOMB?!”
Lord L continued, unbothered.
“If you die here, well… too bad. That just means you won’t get to attend my next auction.”
A long pause.
Then—
The entire auction hall erupted into chaos.
“RUN!”
“GET OUT OF HERE!”
“DAMN THAT BASTARD!”
People scrambled toward the exits, pushing and shoving to escape.
Some tried to grab valuables, others just bolted without a second thought.
Even high-ranking nobles like Raiven and Sylvia hesitated for a moment before stepping back.
Raiven smirked slightly.
“He really doesn’t hold back, does he?”
Sylvia sighed, crossing her arms.
“Now, I have to leave like peasants, thanks to him.”
She turned toward her guards.
“Prepare my escape route. I’m not getting caught up in this mess.”
—
Lucius turned toward Liora, still smirking.
“Well, that should keep them busy.”
Liora cracked her knuckles, her eyes glowing fiercely.
“Yeah, but let me finish one last thing.”
She suddenly gripped Cindarox’s burning jaw.
Vallos’s eyes widened.
“Wait—!”
CRACK!
With a single tight squeeze, Cindarox’s flaming body shattered.
The fire snuffed out instantly, its veins turning cold as the beast collapsed lifelessly.
Vallos stared in shock.
His beast was defeated like nothing.
“Tch. Weak.” Liora muttered.
Lucius chuckled, turning back toward Vallos.
“Well, it’s been fun. But we have places to be.”
He raised his hand.
“Goodbye.”
Before Vallos could even react—
Lucius and his team vanished.
Gone.
Vallos stood frozen, staring at his dead beast.
His fists clenched tightly, his entire body shaking in anger.
Varen, still standing on stage, his face red with fury, gritted his teeth.
His voice roared through the auction hall.
“DAMN YOU, LORD L!!”
His furious shout echoed.
But the only ones who heard it were the scattered remains of his humiliated auction.
—
Lucius, Liora, Luna and Loreia had appeared in the main hall of Luxoria Mansion.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then—
Luna burst out laughing.
“PFFT—DID YOU SEE HIS FACE?!”
She clutched her stomach, her eyes tearing up from laughter as she nearly collapsed onto the couch.
“Varen looked like he was about to explode!”
Liora grinned, shaking her head as she leaned against the wall.
“Forget Varen. Did you see how those nobles ran? Acting all high and mighty one second, then bolting for their lives the next.”
She mimicked their panic, waving her arms dramatically.
“Oh no, Lord L’s going to kill us all! Hahaha!”
Loreia, who had remained calm the whole time, finally smirked.
“Well, it’s official. We just humiliated Beast Castle in front of the entire industry.”
Lucius only chuckled.
“Of course we did. That was the plan.”
