Chapter 322: Mist Beasts Cannot Hide
Liora sat on a flat stone, one knee raised, fingers resting against her chin.
She moved slowly, running through different hand positions.
Strike styles, pressure control, guard shifts.
Then she stood and stretched once, flames flickering faintly across her arms.
“Not bad. Still need to push more into the core flow.”
She closed her eyes and focused.
Silver energy pulsed quietly around her, syncing with her breath.
Then she felt it—movement.
One of the Vornis appeared from the mist, stopping just a few feet in front of her.
It didn’t speak, of course. Just a short bark.
Then it turned and began walking away.
Liora raised her eyebrow. “Something?”
The Vornis didn’t look back. Just paused and flicked its tail, nudging the ground with its claw.
Liora’s eyes followed the motion.
“…You want me to follow.”
The Vornis took one more step, then stopped again, glancing back.
Liora cracked her neck once and stepped off the stone.
“Alright. Lead the way.”
She walked behind it, steps silent.
“Let’s see what you found.”
—
Liora followed Vornis through the thick mist until they stepped into a wide clearing.
She stopped.
“…Huh.”
Dozens of steel cages had already been constructed, all arranged neatly in a perimeter around the area.
Inside them, there were a lot of mist and beasts walking around or crouching low.
Some of them were Silphra.
But not just them.
Her eyes narrowed as she stepped closer.
One cage held a floating, gray-feathered owl, wings unmoving but eyes glowing.

Another cage held long snakes that had frost mist emitted from their bodies.
Liora focused her eyes. “Scan.”

Liora smirked in satisfaction.
“Wow. You’ve been busy.”
She looked down at the Vornis next to her. “You did all this without me?”
The Vornis didn’t respond,
They just tilted its head slightly, as if asking, Did you expect anything less?
Liora walked between the cages, inspecting each beast one by one.
“They’re different types… but they share traits. All fog-based. Stealth, ambush, disruption…”
She glanced at the owl. “Illusions, baits, confusion.”
Then at the serpent. “Snare and disable types.”
She crossed her arms. “Master is going to love this.”
The Vornis stepped forward and barked once.
More units arrived from the treeline, dragging another net-wrapped Silphra toward the cages.
Liora shook her head with a grin. “You’re making me look lazy.”
She turned around, raising her hands toward the cages.
“Alright. Let’s put them all into the Eternal Vault.”

—
Each cage lit up with silver light.
One by one, the captured beasts vanished and were put into the Eternal Vault.
Liora watched it all without flinching.
Once the last beast disappeared, she let her hands drop and looked at the current numbers.
“91… 87… 93.”
She smirked. “That’s a lot of fog beasts.”
She stepped forward, brushing mist off her armor.
“Is it enough? Probably. But Master didn’t say the exact amount.”
She looked at the fading treeline, then back at the clearing.
“But I’ve cleared half the forest already.”
Stretching one shoulder, she glanced at the Vornis pack circling around her.
“Alright. Let’s head back. We’re close to the castle anyway.”
The lead Vornis barked once in acknowledgment.
“Mission done. You all did good.”
Another Vornis let out a short click.
Liora tilted her head. “What, want praise now?”
The Vornis just stared, expression unreadable behind cold steel.
She chuckled. “Fine. You did better than I expected.”
She turned, silver flames flickering at her heels as she walked.
“Let’s go.”
The Vornis squad followed in silence, moving through like legion or soldiers.
—
Liora returned to the Luxoria Castle with Vornis following her from behind.
She then entered the main hall of Luxoria Castle.
Luna turned from the console. “You’ve come back already?”
Loreia leaned around a column. “Seriously? You were out for, what—four hours?”
Liora walked past them, brushing dust off her shoulder. “Master said five. I’m early.”
Luna raised her eyebrow. “By a whole hour.”
Loreia crossed her arms. “Show-off.”
Liora stopped near the center platform. “I got quite a lot.”
Lucius’s voice echoed from the upper walkway. “So you’ve returned, Liora.”
She turned. “Yes, Master.”
Lucius descended the stairs, each step slow and deliberate.
“Report. What did you bring?”
Liora stood straight as she reported it.
“The surrounding forest only held A-Rank beasts so the one I caught was within those ranks.
She then smirked, raising her hands.
“But all of the beasts I caught were fog or mist types.”
Lucius paused. “Mist beasts?”
“Exactly.”
He nodded once, intrigued. “Show them. I want to see.”
Liora looked to the side. “Liline.”
Liline appeared from within the walls and looked at Liora. “Yes?”
Lucius glanced at her. “Prepare display.”
Liline smiled. “Of course. One moment.”
But before she moved, Liora raised three fingers.
Lucius noticed immediately. “Three cages?”
Liora nodded. “Three types.”
Liline bowed lightly. “Understood. I’ll set up the chambers right now.”
Loreia leaned toward Luna. “She got that many types in four hours?”
Luna smirked. “She’s flexing hard today.”
Liora didn’t respond.
She just crossed her arms, eyes on the empty platform that would soon fill with cages.
