Chapter 340: Dreadmaw Just Sold for More Than Titanhoof
Liline smirked as the tension in the hall simmered.
Every gaze locked onto the massive beast behind her.
“Now then… Let’s begin.”
But she held up a finger.
“However—before we start, there’s something important you need to know.”
The crowd quieted instantly.
Liline’s eyes swept across the hall.
“This beast—Dreadmaw—is in a league of its own. A genuine, untamed SS-Rank Sovereign-Tier beast.”
She paused.
“As such, just like our last auction for SS-Rank Sovereign beasts… we are only accepting SS-Rank beast cores as currency.”
Gasps rang out immediately.
“SS-Rank only…?”
“They’re actually doing that again?”
“Even harder to get than last time…”
Raiven’s eyes narrowed.
Sylvia leaned forward, intrigued.
Elaris just grinned.
“But,”
Liline continued smoothly, “we understand that not everyone keeps dozens of SS cores in their pocket.”
A few chuckles echoed.
“So here’s the condition.”
She raised her hand, signaling the floating auction interface above her to begin glowing softly.
“If the auction reaches thirty SS-Rank beast cores, then—and only then—we will allow additional bidding using S-Rank beast cores.”
“But with an exchange ratio based on our system’s standard.”
Raiven crossed his arms. “So we’ll need to start high if we want flexibility.”
Sylvia smirked. “Not a bad move. Filters out the scavengers.”
Elaris laughed under her breath. “And makes the real players sweat early.”
Liline smiled wider.
“Now that everything is clear…”
She turned to the crowd and raised her voice.

“Let the bidding for Dreadmaw… begin.”
—
Sylvia leaned forward, resting her arms on the edge of her seat.
“I want this one.”
Her voice was smooth and confident.
“A beast like this… once properly researched and dissected…”
“Its structure, power output, and regenerative traits. It’ll be worth five times the price.”
She raised her hand.
“Twenty SS-Rank beast cores.”
The room gasped immediately.
“She just jumped to the threshold…”
“She’s serious.”
“That’s already insane!”
Elaris, lounging lazily nearby, just gave a casual wave of her hand.
“I’ll pass on this one.”
“Fire-type? Big teeth? Glowing magma?”
She chuckled.
“It’d just burn the trees down. Not my aesthetic.”
Sylvia smirked. “Good. One less obstacle.”
But from the other side of the room—
A deeper voice cut in.
“I disagree.”
Raiven Valefor stood tall, arms crossed.
His eyes were fixed on Dreadmaw like a predator sizing up prey.
“This isn’t a beast for study.”
He stepped forward, voice growing louder.
“This is a beast for war. A titan for destruction. And I’m a warrior.”
He raised his hand high.
“Forty SS-Rank beast cores.”
The room exploded.
“Forty?!”
“He just jumped it by twenty!”
“That’s more than a royal warship!”
Liline’s eyes flicked up at the bidding screen as it updated.
She smiled quietly, watching the crowd buzz.
Even nobles from the sides began murmuring.
Several tamers who had hoped to bid in S-Rank cores slumped in their seats, sighing.
“Even 4,000 S-Rank cores isn’t enough to match them now…”
“Completely out of reach.”
Sylvia narrowed her eyes at Raiven.
“You’re not getting this beast without a fight.”
Raiven didn’t even look at her.
He just smirked.
“Then fight.”
Sylvia’s hand shot up again.
“Forty SS-Rank beast cores… plus an additional five hundred S-Rank beast cores.”
A wave of murmurs swept through the audience.
“She’s pushing it hard!”
“She wants this thing dissected for sure.”
“Is she trying to intimidate Raiven?”
But Raiven didn’t flinch.
His hand rose just as calmly.
“Forty SS-Rank beast cores… and one thousand S-Rank beast cores.”
The crowd’s reaction surged again.
Elaris leaned back in her seat, grinning.
“This is better than any arena match.”
Sylvia narrowed her eyes.
“Fifty-five SS-Rank beast cores.”
Raiven immediately countered.
“Fifty-five SS-Rank beast cores.”
“Plus ten thousand S-Rank beast cores,” Sylvia fired back.
Raiven raised his eyebrow.
“Make that sixty SS-Rank beast cores and four ten thousand S-Rank beast cores.”
Liline’s eyes gleamed slightly as the bidding screen updated in real time.
Whispers broke out all around.
“Wait—that’s seventy SS-Rank value total!”
“That’s more than double of what Titanhoof sold!”
“He’s not playing around.”
Sylvia clenched her fist on her chair’s armrest.
Her lips thinned. She didn’t raise her hand again.
Silence fell.
Raiven turned slightly to face her without saying a word.
The air crackled between them.
Then—
Liline raised her voice.
“No further bids?”
The hall was still.
“Going once…”
The tension hung.
“Going twice…”
Sylvia exhaled slowly and leaned back, conceding.
“Sold.”
Liline’s voice rang like a bell.
“Dreadmaw is now the property of Lord Raiven Valefor.”
Applause burst out—some in awe, others just stunned by the price.
Raiven remained silent for a moment, staring up at the beast.
Then he finally spoke.
“…You’ll be perfect for the battlefield.”
—
Liline raised her hand lightly.
“Lord Raiven, please come forward to receive your beasts.”
Raiven smirked, brushing off his coat as he stepped down toward the central platform.
The crowd dispersed as he passed, whispers following his footsteps.
Raiven reached Liline and stopped just a step in front of her.
Liline gave him a respectful nod, then asked plainly.
“Now that the beasts are yours, may I ask—what do you intend to do with the four Vornis and Dreadmaw?”
Raiven didn’t hesitate.
He pulled out a dimensional satchel and placed two crystal-bound containers on the platform.
“Sixty SS-Rank beast cores.”
Then, with a wave of his hand, twenty thousand S-Rank beast cores materialized neatly behind him in stacks.
The entire crowd gasped again.
“Just like that…?”
“He’s loaded.”
Raiven calmly nodded.
“This is full payment for all five beasts.”
He then looked Liline straight in the eyes.
“For the Vornis, I want them all tamed and contracted. Permanently.”
Liline’s expression didn’t change, but her eyes gleamed slightly.
“And Dreadmaw?”
Raiven smirked.
“I want him bound to me. Contracted. One-on-one.”
A ripple of tension passed through the hall again.
“And…” he added, “I want the fused martial art manual for all five.”
“I plan to turn them into a single-unit strike team.”
Liline smiled with open approval.
“I see.”
She turned slightly, raising her hand again toward the inner walls.
“Please wait a moment, Lord Raiven. I’ll begin preparations.”
