Chapter 344: Prove It’s Worth the Price
Vandred cracked his knuckles, his voice booming across the arena.
“Although this is a mock battle… don’t think I’ll pull any punches.”
Raiven grinned. “I wouldn’t want you to. The beast I bought is going to open your eyes, Father.”
Vandred narrowed his eyes. “Then show me.”
He stepped forward, placing a single palm on the ground.
“But since I want to see your beast’s raw strength… we’ll do this with a simple rule.
“Beast battle only and no fusion or weaponization.”
Raiven nodded. “Understood.”
Vandred smirked. “Good. Then let’s see if your fancy new pet can survive my Gravemaw.”
He raised his voice. “Come forth… Gravemaw!”
The ground trembled.
With a roar, a massive figure erupted from a steel-lined portal behind Vandred.
A towering bear-like beast stepped forward—six meters tall even on two legs.
Its skin was layered in jagged steel armor, its eyes glowing red with berserker fury.
Earth rumbled beneath its claws, the weight alone shaking the platform.
“Steel and earth. Brutality incarnate,” Vandred said proudly.
“This is the beast that broke seven elite warbeasts with one charge. My Gravemaw.”
Caelan crossed his arms from the side. “Still a monster.”
Eryndor remained silent, watching closely.
Vandred gestured. “Now, Raiven. Summon yours.”
Raiven didn’t move immediately. Instead, he tilted his head slightly and smirked.
“Actually, Father, before I do… I need to tell you something.”
Vandred narrowed his eyes. “What?”
“I didn’t just buy one Sovereign-tier SS-Rank beast.”
“…Huh?”
“I bought four more—S-Rank Sovereign-tier war beasts. All steel element. All contract-bonded to me.”
Caelan frowned. “Wait, what?”
Eryndor finally spoke. “That’s not cheap.”
Raiven’s smirk grew wider. “Can I use all of them?”
Vandred scoffed. “Why not. Let me see how good these beasts really are.”

With a flick of his fingers, the air behind Raiven cracked open.
Magma-colored light bled through as a massive portal widened.
Then the ground shook.
From the portal stepped a monster that dwarfed everything.
Its footsteps scorched the earth.
The magma veins pulsed violently beneath its jet-black scales, and its eyes burned with primal heat.
The beast towered more than triple the size of Gravemaw.
Vandred’s eyes widened slightly. “What… the hell… is that?”
“Sweet, right?” Raiven’s voice was smug.
“That’s Dreadmaw. Sovereign of Volcano.”
Vandred clenched his jaw. “It’s bigger than Titanhoof.”
“And stronger,” Raiven said simply.
Then four more portals opened behind him.
Out marched the Vornis—four armored steel beasts moving like a military unit.
Vandred glanced at them, arms still crossed. “Hm. War beasts, huh? Steel element.”
“They’re called Vornis. Luxoria Castle’s personal creations. All Sovereign-tier,” Raiven added.
Caelan squinted. “They’re sharp. Synchronized already?”
Eryndor gave a faint nod. “Trained for group formation.”
Vandred grunted. “They look good. I won’t lie.”
He shifted his stance.
“But no matter how expensive or engineered they are… they’re still fresh.”
“Let’s see if they can stand against Gravemaw’s experience.”
Raiven smirked. “Then let’s see, shall we?”
BOOM!
Gravemaw didn’t hesitate.
The massive bear roared and charged straight at Dreadmaw.
Its massive claws shimmered as it activated Wrecking Rampage, tearing through stone and dust.
“That’s how you fight!” Vandred shouted proudly.
The bear suddenly slammed its fists down—Earthspike Charge!
Dozens of jagged earthspikes erupted from the battlefield, racing toward Dreadmaw’s legs and lower body.
But the volcanic behemoth didn’t flinch.
Dreadmaw raised both feet—and slammed them down.
SEISMIC DEVASTATION!
The earth shattered and split, the spikes cracking mid-rise and collapsing as a wave of tremors surged outward.
Caelan watched, brows furrowed. “It neutralized the entire attack in one stomp…”
Eryndor didn’t respond, but his eyes narrowed.
Gravemaw roared again and lunged in, undeterred.
With a burst of steel energy, it unleashed Steelgrip Maul.
It tried to use its claws to clamp around Dreadmaw’s neck and upper torso.
It was trying to pin the larger beast down.
“It’s going for control!” Caelan muttered.
“Father’s beast is trying to overpower it with grip and weight control!”
But it wasn’t that easy.
Dreadmaw’s body was way larger than Gravemaw’s.
And also its body surged with heat, magma veins pulsing brighter.
It twisted its neck, massive jaws igniting.
MAGMA MAW!
It snapped at Gravemaw’s midsection—biting deep into the steel armor.
SSSSSHHH!
A loud hiss filled the air as molten heat melted through Gravemaw’s plating.
Gravemaw snarled, trying to push back, but its grip faltered.
Vandred narrowed his eyes, arms still folded.
“Tch… it’s strong. That bite melted Gravemaw’s armor?”
Raiven grinned. “Of course. That’s just the start, Father.”
Caelan blinked. “That thing’s not just strong—it’s terrifying.”
Eryndor finally spoke. “The pressure it gives off… it’s not just size. It’s suppression. Dominance.”
Gravemaw stumbled back, its side glowing red-hot, part of its steel plates dented and dripping.
But it didn’t stop. Instead, it roared.
Berserker Ascension activated.
Its armor plates expanded, and its crimson eyes lit up with fury.
Vandred grinned, teeth bared. “That’s more like it. Show him, Gravemaw!”
The bear slammed forward again with Wrecking Rampage, this time even faster and even harder.
Its movements blurred for a beast of its size. It slammed into Dreadmaw’s massive chest.
It caused the ground to quake and force the volcanic titan to skid backward.
Raiven’s grin vanished. “…He’s actually pushing it back.”
Caelan raised his eyebrow. “Father’s not holding back anymore.”
Eryndor muttered lowly, “It’s not about control. He’s going for domination now.”
Dreadmaw’s eyes gleamed orange.
It stopped sliding.
Its chest heaved once—and suddenly, the molten glow of its veins dulled.
They were replaced by a black sheen that rippled across its body.
Obsidian Carapace.
The lava cooled and hardened into shining black armor, tougher than steel.
“Here we go,” Raiven whispered.
Dreadmaw countered instantly.
Its claws and tail ignited in flame, flaring bright and wild as it lunged back in—
Infernal Thrash!
CLANG! CRASH! WHIP!
Its front claws smashed into Gravemaw’s shoulders, sending a shockwave outward.
Then the tail spun like a flaming mace, slamming into Gravemaw’s ribs.
It forced the steel bear to stumble sideways, its berserk form staggering from the pure heat and force.
“Damn!” Caelan clenched his fists.
“That strike shook the arena!”
Gravemaw growled low, blood dripping from its snout.
It tried to swipe again—but Dreadmaw met its claws head-on, the two titans locked in a brutal exchange.
Fists. Tails. Flame. Dust.
The battlefield cracked beneath them.
Vandred’s expression twisted—not from disappointment, but excitement.
“That’s it… push him harder, Gravemaw!”
Raiven narrowed his eyes. “He’s not going to stop until one of them breaks.”
Eryndor’s voice was quiet but sharp. “The question is… which one first?”
