Chapter 399: Duel of the Day
Kaelen and Drelmas stood on opposite ends of the arena.
The silence between them lasted only a moment.
Then Kaelen spoke first.
“Only one way to show them what we really are.”
Drelmas nodded once, his deep voice calm.
“Yeah. Full fusion. Let the world witness.”
Fiona, still floating overhead, raised an eyebrow.
“Wait… What are you two—?”
Before she could finish, both men stepped forward, arms raised.
Brilliant light surged.
Kaelen’s body ignited in red flames as Inferon’s power merged with him.
His muscles tightened, his skin took on a faint ember glow, and his hair turned bright flame-orange.
A burning crest shimmered above his head like a crown of fire.
Drelmas, in contrast, was covered in thick mist as Brutaurus fused with him.
His body became heavier, broader—his skin darkened like deep stone.
Blue lines flowed across his arms and shoulders, and small gill marks appeared along his back.
Two thick horns curved from his forehead, like the beast’s own.
Both men stood taller, more powerful.
Their Sovereigns didn’t fight for them.
They were the beasts now.
Fiona gaped through her visor.
“Chat—did you SEE that?!”
“They’re not just summoning their beasts. They’re becoming them!”
She twirled in the air once, barely containing her excitement.
“They didn’t wait even an hour—and they’re already in perfect fusion?”

—
Fiona steadied herself, grinning wildly.
“Okay… if there was any doubt about whether they earned their beasts?”
She gestured to the arena below.
“This—right here—is your answer.”
Kaelen and Drelmas stood ready, flames and pressure radiating from them.
The battle hadn’t even started…
And the world was already watching.
—
Fiona floated high above, visor locked on both.
Her drones capturing every angle for the Luxoria App stream.
“And it begins…”
Drelmas raised one massive hand, fingers clenching into a fist.
“Duelist’s Claim.”
A deep-blue sigil flared beneath Kaelen’s feet.
The space around him trembled for a moment—then went still.
Kaelen narrowed his eyes.
“So it’s just me and you now, huh?”
Drelmas didn’t speak. He simply started walking forward.
The pressure in the arena thickened instantly.
Fiona’s drone systems showed the shift.
Kaelen crouched slightly, flame building around his shoulders.
“Then I’ll be first.”
With a sharp step, he vanished into a trail of heat.
He reappeared just beside Drelmas, driving a flame-covered fist toward his side.
“Flare Breaker!”
The strike connected—but Drelmas didn’t move.
His body flexed. Mist surged.
“Torrent Skin.”
Kaelen’s flames hissed against the swirling water shield.
The impact sent steam curling into the air, but Drelmas didn’t stagger.
“You’re not stopping me with fire.” Drelmas growled.
He countered with a quick, brutal left hook.
Kaelen ducked, but the sheer pressure behind the swing forced him to slide backward across the arena floor.
Before he could recover, the mist thickened.
“Hydrocage Arena.”
Pillars of spinning water erupted around them, closing in like a tidal dome.
Kaelen was now locked into a narrow space with one opponent—and zero escape.
“Perfect.” Kaelen smiled.
He raised both hands, letting his energy spike.
“Solar Prowess.”
Flames exploded around him.
Inferon’s power surged as heat intensified inside the Hydrocage.
The mist began to boil.
Drelmas narrowed his eyes, recognizing the change in air pressure.
Kaelen blurred forward again.
“Infernal Dash!”
This time, he didn’t punch.
He drove his knee upward into Drelmas’s gut.
The hit landed harder than the last. Drelmas grunted, sliding back a step.
Kaelen followed up immediately.
“Flame Fang Kick!”
His leg ignited as he twisted into a spinning heel strike.
It collided with Drelmas’s shoulder.
Sending a shockwave through the water dome.
Cracks formed in the Hydrocage pillars.
Drelmas let out a grunt.
He raised both arms, slamming them into the ground.
“Riptide Slam!”
Water burst up from beneath Kaelen’s feet, launching him into the air.
Mid-air, Drelmas leapt.
His body seemed too heavy to move that fast.
But Brutaurus’s strength propelled him like a cannon.
His shoulder smashed into Kaelen’s chest, driving both of them back down in a crater.
Dust filled the air.
Fiona leaned forward, stunned.
“They’re going all out… and this isn’t even five minutes in.”

The mist cleared slowly.
Cracks veined the stone floor around them.
Kaelen’s fists burned with molten flame.
Drelmas’s muscles pulsed with tidal pressure.
They locked eyes.
Kaelen spoke first.
“Let’s end it.”
Drelmas nodded slowly.
“One attack.”
Kaelen’s lips twitched into the faintest grin.
“No tricks. No dodging.”
“Only strength,” Drelmas replied.
They both stepped back—just one pace.
Kaelen clenched his fists.
Flame flared behind him.
“Solar Brand Judgment.”
Drelmas dug his heels into the ground.
Mist spiraled tighter around his body.
“Tyrant of the Tides.”
Fiona, floating high above, whispered through her comms.
“They’re doing it.”
Kaelen: “Here I come, tide-breaker.”
Drelmas: “Try not to burn out before you hit me.”
In unison, they roared—
“NOW!”
Kaelen charged forward, blazing like a comet.
Drelmas surged like a tidal wave, water crushing beneath his fists.
The arena shuddered as both Sovereign forces collided head-on in the center.
Flame met flood.
Pressure met explosion.
A blinding flash of steam and light burst into the sky.
Fiona floated above the haze.
“…Whoa.”
She hovered lower as the smoke began to fade.
Revealing a crater carved into the center of the Sovereign Arena.
Still, neither fighter was clearly visible.
“Chat…” she said, her voice hushed with anticipation.
“That… was insane.”
“But now the real question.”
She turned toward her main camera drone.
“Who’s still standing?”
“Who’s your champion?”
