Chapter 403: Fionyx Went Full Cinema Mode
The sun peeked through the pale-blue skylight above Fiona’s room.
Fiona sat up groggily, hair messy, visor still beside her pillow.
She rubbed her eyes.
“Ugh… what time is it?” she muttered, checking the floating display.
“No stream scheduled. Vornis event is still days away…”
She flopped back down.
“I’ve got nothing to do.”
Then a knock echoed through the door.
It opened without waiting.
Liora stepped in, fully dressed in combat attire.
Fiona jerked upright.
“L- Lady Liora? What the—? How did you even—?”
“I knocked.”
“No, I mean—never mind. What’s going on?”
Liora folded her arms. “Do you want to come with me?”
Fiona blinked. “Come with you? Where?”
“Hunting,” Liora said simply. “Another tour.”
Fiona narrowed her eyes.
“Like, a stream-hunting kind of thing or a Luxoria-secret-job kind of hunting?”
“Yes.”
Fiona sighed. “That’s not an answer.”
Liora stared blankly.
Fiona chuckled, getting up and stretching.
“Fine. I’ll join.”
“I’ve got no other content planned anyway.”
“You just barge in and invite me like it’s brunch, but whatever—I’ll bite.”
“Dress fast. We leave in ten minutes.”
“Geez, you’re intense in the morning.”
Liora turned without responding and walked out.
Fiona muttered as she reached for her gear,
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
“Why do I feel like I’m going to regret this…”
Ten minutes later, Fiona stepped off the platform near the eastern hangar of Luxoria Castle.
Fionyx hovered behind her in sleek hoverpack mode.
Liora was already waiting, arms crossed, her long coat fluttering.
Fiona yawned as she approached.
“Alright, I’m here.”
“What are we actually doing this early?”
Liora didn’t answer immediately.
She just turned and started walking.
Fiona frowned. “That’s not ominous at all.”
“You’ll know soon,” Liora finally said, a faint grin slipping onto her face.
Both of them used their hoverpacks and began to fly out of the Luxoria Castle.
The terrain changed rapidly.
From lush growth fading to broken stone, then crumbled structures.
Then nothing but ash-colored remnants of a forgotten city.
Fiona leaned forward, looking around.
“Okay. Now I have questions.”
Liora didn’t turn. “Old city. Beast testing zone now.”
“You mean graveyard for failed beasts?”
“Some of them are still alive.”
That wiped the rest of Fiona’s sleep away.
By the time they landed, the sky was painted in gray streaks.
The field before them looked like it had once been an industrial sector.
“So…” Fiona adjusted her visor. “What are we hunting today?”
Liora didn’t speak. She just nodded toward the skyline.
A sharp shriek pierced the air.
Fiona’s eyes snapped up—and her breath caught.
Something dove from above with a guttural howl.
It spread its wings—each one enormous, lined with dark metallic feathers.
Some torn and fused with wires.
A long reptilian body snapped upright mid-air.
Two multi-jointed hind legs struck the side of a broken tower before it launched again.
It hovered briefly, circling like a predator stalking prey from the clouds.
Its eyes locked onto them.
Fiona took a cautious step back. “What the hell is that?”
“That,” Liora said with a smile, “is Chimawren.”
Fiona blinked. “That doesn’t sound like a normal beast name.”
“It’s not. Failed hybrid experiment. Raptor-beast base.”
“But they spliced in lizard genetics. Didn’t stabilize.”
Liora rolled her shoulders.
“Which makes it fun.”
The Chimawren let out a sharp cry.
Then several more answered.
From the rooftops, from behind collapsed towers and from broken skybridges.
They swooped in—eight…
No, ten more, circling fast, forming a swarm.
Fiona’s hand flew to her hip.
“Damn it. That’s a lot. That’s way too many.”
“They’re not Sovereign,” Liora said, stepping forward.
“Still Elite-Tier. You’ll live if you stay behind me.”
Fiona raised her brow. “What if I want to help?”
“You can talk to your viewers.”
Before Fiona could answer, Liora smirked as she summoned twin arm cannons from Leon.
The closest Chimawren dove toward her, screeching.
Liora lifted both arms and fired.
A double blast thundered out, vaporizing the creature mid-air.
Fiona ducked behind cover. “Holy crap.”
Liora stepped forward, rotating mid-stride, lining up her next shot.
“Watch and learn.”
Fiona activated her stream.
Fionyx’s body split, releasing half a dozen compact drones into the air.
They flickered with orange sigils, stabilized, then moved around her in perfect formation.
Auto-framing the battlefield with cinematic angles.
“Okay—hey everyone! This is Fiona, live from… somewhere stupid!”
She announced, already half-laughing.
“We’re in a ruined city zone. I thought we were coming out for lunch.”
“Instead—surprise mutated aerial hunt!”
The drones pulled wide as explosions flared behind her.

Fiona ducked as a Chimawren wing clipped a collapsed beam near her.
Sparks flew. She tilted her head toward the lens.
“So apparently those are called Chimawren. Failed beast hybrids.”
“Don’t ask me why they exist. I didn’t make them.”
She said quickly, her breath short but steady.
“But Liora’s casually killing them from the sky.”
“So yeah. Just another Tuesday.”
Above her, three Chimawren dove in formation.
Liora didn’t speak—just moved.
She vaulted off a twisted railing, spun mid-air, and fired both cannons in perfect sync.
Three searing beams lanced out—one after the other—cutting clean through skull, chest, and wing.
The creatures didn’t even scream. They dropped like bags of meat.
Fiona crouched lower, whispering into the cam.
“Holy crap. She just triple-tagged those things like a VR sim.”
Liora landed hard, shockwave bursting from her boots.
“Focus,” she said flatly.
“I am focused,” Fiona replied, lips curled.
“Focused on your kill count.”
Another drone swirled beside her face, auto-tracking Liora.
She quickly reloaded her twin cannons.
“Fionyx,” Fiona whispered.
“Give them the heat chart overlay. Full color.”
One drone blinked, then projected an overlay on-screen.
It tracked Liora’s attack trails with flaming arcs and highlighted beast corpses with ember-glow outlines.
The chat erupted.

Fiona raised her hand. “You heard them, Liora. You’ve got fans.”
Liora didn’t answer.
Her cannons locked in again—two more Chimawren swooping down.
She moved like a ghost in steel, ready to erase them.
“Showtime,” Fiona muttered.
