Chapter 46: Evolist’s Machines
Lucius walked toward the other two machines. Both of them were pretty futuristic according to him and now he began to see what they were.

The first one was named Beast Insight Terminal; this one could be said to be a better machine than the beast scanner that was usually used by rich people.

This machine could display a holographic screen that was filled with beast data, the same as a beast scanner, except this machine could even check their skills.

Lucius didn’t really like this machine, as his system already had the same function as this. “It is quite good, but for other Evolists. Not me.”

He then turned his attention to the second machine, which was called as the Beast Pill Synthesizer, and he was immediately intrigued by it

The machine looked like a massive cauldron with numerous input slots for various raw materials. There were also two buttons on the machine.

From the manual that he read, this machine could analyze any raw materials placed inside and break them down to their essence to synthesize them into a pill.

These pills were created based on the materials placed on the machine, so random or incompatible materials could produce randomized, potentially useless pills.

To use it, the users need to have a solid understanding of the materials they were working with so they could make pills that either vitamin for beasts or temporary enhancement pills that Kaelix used like before.

The machine also had a holographic screen that would tell the user on the effect of the pill being made, so the user can use the pill with ease.

“I wonder if this machine can identify and display the effects of the pill that it didn’t create.” Lucius wondered as he looked at the black pill in his hand.

Lucius, who was curious, immediately put it inside the machine but the machine didn’t work at all. Lucius even had pressed the buttons.

Lucius then frowned after finding it and also concluded something. “It seems that this machine could only know the effect of the pill it made as it knew the process of making it.”

Lucius then began to consider if he could use the Beast Pill Synthesizer. Lucius was thinking of creating enhancement pills or attribute boosters, but he realized something.

He had the Beast Hack System that could hack any beasts the same way as giving pills into them. In his past life, Lucius rarely used the system aside for his tamed beast so this time he wanted to do some experiments.

Experiments also needed some objects for experiments, and what he needed were some beasts so he decided to go to the market the next day.

Next morning, Lucius began to go to the market that Lucius knew from the guidebook. Lucius was also being accompanied by Luna. As for Liora, she was still busy training in the training room.

Lucius began to scan the market and soon he was surprised as he immediately saw Magnus, who was standing alone.

Magnus also spotted Lucius and immediately went to him. Lucius also smiled as he saw Magnus walking toward him.

Magnus immediately greeted him with a smirk. “What are you doing here so early, Lucius? Don’t tell me you’re already causing trouble.”

Lucius only smirked as he was amused by Magnus’ question. “Troube? Of course not, Magnus. Although… there is a slight issure with the previous occupant of my residence.”

Magnus raised an eyebrow after hearing that and smirked. “I see. That happens sometimes with new students. The academy reallocates housing, and the old occupant doesn’t take it well.”

Magus then became excited as he wanted to ask where Lucius’ residence was. “So tell me now. What complex did they assign you to? The Silver Complex?”

Lucius shook his head. He then smirked as he told him where his new house was. “No, not quite. I was assigned House Number One… in the Golden Complex.”

Magnus, who heard it, suddenly widened his eyes as he could not believe what he just heard. He took a half step back and asked, “Wait… did you say House Number One in the Golden Complex?”

Lucius only nodded, amused seeing Magnus’ reaction. “Indeed, I am. And also the previous occupant, some arrogant fool, thought he could reclaim it by challenging me. Liora was kind enough to… handle the situation.”

Magnus immediately frowned after hearing. He immediately slowly asked. “Handle him? You don’t mean… killing him, right?”

Lucius chuckled after hearing what Magnus said. He then looked at Magnus and said, “Kill him? Of course not. I wouldn’t break the academy’s rules so openly.”

Lucius then suddenly stepped closer at Magnus, right on his face and smirked. “But let’s just say that if he keeps disturbing me and tests my patience, I may or may not try to end him.”

Magnus swallowed hard, as Lucius was too scary for him right now. “Lucius, you have to be careful. If things get worse, it could bring some trouble for the family. Just… don’t provoke him further.”

Lucius stepped back a little and continued to smirk. “Trouble for the family? Don’t you remember what your father said, Magnus? If anyone dares to trouble us, we need to beat them into submission.”

Magnus hesitated; the memory of Ragnar’s harsh words before they left the estate soon rang in his mind: Power demands respect. If they defy you, beat them into submission.

But still, Magnus could not shake the unease feeling around his chest. Magnus then looked at Lucius and said, “Yes, my father said that, but this is different. Your opponent isn’t just anyone.”

Magnus then reminded Lucius about his real opponent: “Your opponent is Kaelix Kryndal, the Rank 1 Evolist of the Golden Class.”

Lucius, who heard what Magnus said, could only glare at Lucius. He could not believe what Magnus had just said.

He never thought that Magnus, the one that he saw as a brave and fierce tamer, could be this timid. It seems that he needed to smack some sense into this kid.
