Chapter 462: Mist You Already
Nebelis floated above the battlefield, watching the five intruders.
“Hmm,” Nebelis murmured.
“They actually defeated it.”
Liline hovered beside it, grinning.
“What now, Nebelis? They managed to beat that Mist Human.”
Nebelis’s tail flicked, stirring the fog below.
“I never thought they could do that.”
“That Mist Human was an SS-Rank Sovereign creation.”
Liline twirled her pen lightly between her fingers.
“Well, they are the elite soldiers of Aurelius.”
“Of course they’re strong.”
Nebelis let out a soft hum, like wind through the mist.
“True,” it said slowly.
“Still… I must admit I’m impressed.”
Liline’s smile grew a little sharper.
“So, what will you do now?”
Nebelis’s eyes glowed brighter.
“It seems… I need to be more serious.”
Liline’s pen clicked shut as she clapped her hands lightly.
“Ooh, that sounds exciting.”
“Let’s see if they can manage to win again.”
Nebelis turned its gaze back toward the intruders.
The mist thickened around it, forming a new shape.
“I will make sure they face the real challenge now,” Nebelis said.
Liline stepped back a little, her smile curious.
“Don’t be too hard on them,” she teased.
“After all, we want a good show.”
Nebelis’s tail snapped once.
“A good show it shall be.”
And with that, the mist surged forward, gathering strength for a new battle.

The five intruders moved quickly, each one panting from their last fight.
“[Void Phase Dive]!” the leader shouted.
They sank into the ground, turning to mist themselves, and rushed forward.
Nothing stopped them now.
Soon, they reached the heart of the Mist Forest.
Before them stood a massive dome of mist, swirling like a living storm.
The five intruders emerged from the ground, weapons ready.
The second operative grunted.
“So this is it, the core.”
The third squinted at the dome.
“Looks like a fortress.”
The fourth cracked his neck.
“No problem. We’ll smash it like the rest.”
The fifth shifted his stance, blades humming.
“Let’s finish this.”
Suddenly, the mist thickened. The dome pulsed, then split apart.
A massive form rose from the center.
An enormous mist dragon was formed.
Its body glowed silver, claws like knives, wings like clouds.
The five intruders frowned.
The leader stepped forward, eyes steady.
“It’s just another mist beast.”
He raised his blades.
“Everyone, use everything you’ve got.”
The five operatives moved together, each one activating [Mechanical Mutation Surge].
Their bodies shifted, sprouting extra limbs, blades, and armored plates.
“Charge!” the leader roared.
They rushed forward.
But the Mist Dragon’s eyes glowed.
[Mist Weapons Rain]
Above them, the sky darkened.
Hundreds of mist-forged weapons appeared.
Swords, spears, axes, and even modern rifles.
All were aimed at the intruders.
“Look out!” the second shouted.
The weapons rained down.
Blades slashed, bullets tore through armor, spears stabbed from every angle.
The five fought back, cutting weapons from the air, deflecting blades.
But there were too many.
“Keep pushing!” the leader yelled, blocking a mist sword.
But it didn’t stop there. The Mist Dragon activated another ability.
[Mist Claws]
From every direction, claws of mist appeared.
Some were as big as a man, others small and quick.
They slashed at the intruders, cutting through plates and biting deep.
“Argh!” the third operative cried out, a claw slicing his side.
The fourth swung wildly.
But a claw stabbed through his leg, bringing him to one knee.
The fifth tried to block.
But two claws pierced his arms at once, forcing him to drop his blades.
“Don’t stop!” the leader shouted, even as claws ripped at his shoulders.
They kept fighting, blades glowing, cutting through the mist.
But then, the Mist Dragon lifted its head high.
A wave of pure mist energy blasted outward.
[Mist Roar]
It hit them like a tidal wave, slamming into their chests, stealing their breath, and filling their lungs with cold.
Their systems flickered. Their weapons jammed.
Even their eyes burned with the mist’s poison.
The second collapsed, coughing, unable to breathe.
The third fell to his knees, blades dropping from his hands.
The fourth tried to stand, but the ground shook under the roar, knocking him flat.
The fifth reached for his weapons, but his hands felt numb.
And the leader… He staggered, blades cracked and glowing.
He looked up at the mist dragon, eyes blazing with anger.
“Damn it,” he hissed. “That mist dragon… it’s too strong.”
He glanced over his shoulder at the large metal box they had been carrying.
The second operative frowned, breathing hard.
“Leader, are you thinking—”
“Release them,” the leader said.
The third’s eyes widened.
“But—those were supposed to be released in Luxoria itself!”
“If we let them out here, we’ll lose control!”
The fourth shook his head.
“We can’t lock them back. Once they’re out, that’s it. Chaos.”
The leader clenched his fists. “Just do it.”
He looked at each of them in turn, his voice steady even through his pain.
“We’re losing this fight. That thing is too strong.”
“They’re the only chance we have left to stop it.”
He glanced back at the mist dragon.
“And remember—”
“Once the containers open, we retreat. Let them handle the mist dragon.”
The second operative gritted his teeth. “Understood.”
They all nodded, though hesitation lingered in their eyes.
The third moved quickly to the container, his fingers flying across the code panel.
“Password confirmed,” he muttered, voice shaking.
The box hissed, steam curling from the edges.
The leader took one last look at the mist dragon.
“Go! Run!”
The containers’ locks clicked open.
At once, the operatives sprinted into the mist, vanishing into the darkness.
Meanwhile, high above the forest, Nebelis watched the scene unfold.
Beside it, Liline floated, her expression curious.
“What do you think they just did?” she asked.
Nebelis’s long body coiled slowly.
“They released something dangerous,” it said.
Liline tilted her head, tapping her pen to her lips.
“Dangerous enough that they’d run from it themselves?”
Nebelis’s eyes narrowed.
“It seems they had no choice. They know they can’t beat me.”
Liline’s smile was small and sharp.
“So they’re hoping something else can.”
Nebelis floated lower.
“Whatever they’ve released,” it said, “it is not part of this forest.”
Liline’s eyes glowed faintly.
“Interesting,” she murmured.
“What kind of creature… is scary enough to be their secret weapon…”
“And scary enough to make them run?”
A deep, rumbling growl rolled through the forest.
Nebelis’s eyes glowed brighter.
“Now,” it said, “let us see what they have brought into my domain.”
Liline’s smile widened. “Yes,” she whispered.
“Let’s see if they can handle the mist dragon…”
“Or if they’ve made things worse for themselves.”
The forest held its breath as new monsters awakened.
