Chapter 477: Hadrian’s Hybrid Headache
Vandred, Caelan, and Raiven walked side by side toward the gates of Luxoria Castle.
Eryndor, the third son, wasn’t with them—he had other things to handle.
At the grand gate, Liline appeared, her hair neat, eyes bright.
She bowed slightly.
“Lord Vandred, Young Lords Caelan and Raiven,” she said.
“Welcome to Luxoria Castle.”
Vandred nodded. “Take us to Lord L,” he said.
Liline smiled.
“Of course, follow me,” she said, leading them through the gates.
They passed massive statues, halls lined with gold and silver.
Raiven’s eyes scanned everything, quiet but sharp.
Caelan walked with his arms crossed, calm but focused.
At the inner chamber, Lord L waited, seated on his high-backed chair.
Lord L’s lips curved slightly.
“So, Lord Vandred,” he said. “You’ve come.”
Vandred smirked. “You must already know why I’m here,” he said.
Lord L’s smile widened.
“The fusion beast,” he said, his voice smooth.
“You want to create one.”
Vandred crossed his arms.
“Yes,” he said. “I want to fuse my beast.”
Lord L’s eyes glinted.
“It’s not cheap,” he said.
“Fusion is a powerful process—one that only the best can afford.”
Vandred’s grin grew.
“Of course I know,” he said.
“But I’m one of the strongest nobles. I have the resources to pay.”
Raiven shifted slightly, his ice-blue eyes calm.
“Money isn’t a problem,” he said, his voice low.
Caelan smirked.

“Father’s always been prepared,” he said. “This is just another challenge.”
Lord L’s smile grew cold.
“Good,” he said.
“Luxoria Castle only deals with those who can handle the cost—and the responsibility.”
Vandred’s eyes glowed red.
“I’m ready,” he said. “Tell me what I need to do.”
Lord L leaned forward slightly.
“First,” he said, “you’ll need to select the beast you wish to fuse.”
“It must be compatible—strong enough to handle the process.”
Vandred nodded. “I already know,” he said.
“My strongest beast—the one that’s fought with me the longest.”
Raiven’s eyes narrowed. “Father’s beast is no joke,” he said.
Caelan chuckled. “It’s as strong as Titanvale,” he said.
Lord L’s smile stayed calm. “Perfect,” he said.
“Then prepare yourself. The process is intense and final.”
“Once fused, there’s no going back.”
Vandred grinned. “Good,” he said. “That’s how it should be.”
Liline stepped forward.
“Lord Vandred,” she said softly, “if you’re ready, follow me to the fusion chamber.”
Vandred nodded. “Lead the way,” he said.
Caelan glanced at Raiven. “This is going to be good,” he said.
Raiven smirked. “Father’s always full of surprises,” he said.
The Valefor family was ready for whatever came next.
—
Vandred stood near the fusion chamber door.
His arms were crossed, eyes sharp.
He watched as Liline led his beast inside.
Raiven stood beside him, hands in his pockets.
“I gave her my beasts too,” he said.
“I want to see how strong it can get.”
Vandred nodded.
“Fusion beasts are the future,” he said. “Better to get ahead now.”
Liline stepped back into the hall.
“Both beasts are inside,” she said. “They’ll start the process soon.”
Vandred gave a small smile. “Good,” he said. “I’m ready for this.”
Lord L approached from the side, his silver mask glowing faintly.
“Vandred,” he said. “Your beasts will be powerful once they’re done.”
Vandred’s eyes glinted.
“That’s what I want,” he said. “Strength. Nothing else matters.”
Lord L gave a small nod. “You understand,” he said.
Just then, a small beep sounded from Lord L’s wrist.
He raised his hand, and a screen formed in the air.
He tapped it quickly, eyes focused.
A video feed appeared. It was Hadrian Aurelius.
His white hair was slicked back, his eyes cold and piercing.
Lord L stared at the screen.
Hadrian’s face didn’t move, but his eyes glowed with anger.
“Lord L of Luxoria Castle,” he said.
“I have heard that you killed some of my hybrids.”
His voice was calm, but it carried weight.
Lord L stood still. “They attacked me first,” he said.
Hadrian’s eyes narrowed.
“And I also hear that you declared war on me,” he said.
“Is that true?”
Lord L’s eyes glinted.
“Your family crossed the line,” he said. “I had no choice.”
Hadrian’s face stayed cold.
“Then I will answer by accepting your war declaration,” he said.
“But I don’t want this to drag on. I want it settled.”
Lord L’s head tilted slightly.
“And how do you propose we do that?” he asked.
Hadrian’s eyes shone bright.
“A battle,” he said. “Once and for all.”
Lord L’s smile was faint, but his eyes glowed.
“Fine,” he said. “If that’s what you want.”
Vandred crossed his arms tightly.
“Hadrian’s not one to play games,” he said.
“He’s a real strategist.”
Lord L smirked.
“I know,” he said. “But don’t belittle me.”
He tilted his head slightly.
“Since we’re on this topic,” he said, “you knew Hadrian, right? Lord Vandred.”
Vandred nodded. “Of course,” he said.
“We’re both nobles, and from the same era.”
His eyes narrowed a little. “We crossed paths more than once.”
Lord L leaned forward.
“Can you tell me about him?” he asked.
“Personality, beast, anything you know.”
Vandred took a breath. “Hadrian is cold,” he said.
“He doesn’t care about feelings or bonds. Only results. He’s always been like that.”
Lord L listened quietly.
“He’s always been focused on research,” Vandred continued.
“Genetics, breeding, pushing beasts beyond their limits.”
“He’s the type who treats beasts like tools, not partners.”
Lord L nodded slightly. “And his combat style?” he asked.
Vandred frowned. “He doesn’t fight head-on much,” he said.
“He uses his beasts like chess pieces. Controls them from a distance.”
“Makes them do the dirty work while he sits back.”
Lord L’s eyes glowed faintly.
“So he’s the type who sees the battlefield like a puzzle,” he said.
Vandred smirked. “Exactly,” he said.
“He’s like a cold machine. Always planning, always adjusting. He never stops calculating.”
Lord L tilted his head. “And his personal beast?” he asked.
Vandred’s eyes darkened. “A chimera,” he said.
“He made it himself. A monster that can shift its type mid-battle.”
“Elemental, physical, whatever he needs.”
He clenched his fists. “That beast is dangerous.”
Lord L nodded. “Thanks,” he said. “That helps.”
Vandred’s eyes locked with his.
“Just don’t underestimate him,” he said. “Hadrian’s no fool.”
