Chapter 478: Dad’s New Pet Project
Lord L looked at Vandred and nodded slowly.
“Lord Vandred, you know about Hadrian,” he said.
“So I want to make you a deal.”
Vandred smirked. “What is it?” he asked.
Lord L took a deep breath.
“I will fuse your beast and Raiven’s for free,” he said.
“And not just that. I’ll give an upgrade for yours as well.”
Vandred raised an eyebrow.
“Sounds generous,” he said. “But what’s the catch?”
Lord L’s eyes glowed faintly.
“For the battle with Hadrian,” he said, “it will be yours.”
Vandred frowned a bit.
“Sorry if I’m blunt,” he said.
“Why do you tell me to fight him? If I fight, he will think of you as a coward.”
Lord L smirked.
“I don’t care what he thinks,” he said. “There’s another plan I have.”
Vandred’s eyes narrowed. “Another plan?” he asked.
Lord L nodded. “Yes.”
“I want you to be the one who fights him.”
“And you know you can use him to test your new beast, can’t you?”
Vandred’s frown turned into a grin. “I see… It’s worth doing.”
Lord L crossed his arms. “And also, you know Hadrian is quite arrogant,” he said.
“Why don’t you teach him something?”
Vandred raised an eyebrow. “Teach him?”
Lord L nodded. “Show him that Valefor is strong too.”
“That even his best hybrids and beasts can’t stand against a true warrior.”
Vandred’s grin widened. “That’s the idea,” he said.
“I always wanted to put that cold man in his place.”
Lord L’s eyes glowed faintly.
“You’ll get that chance,” he said. “In the arena. In front of everyone.”

Vandred smirked.
“Let him see real power,” he said. “Not his lab experiments.”
Lord L leaned forward slightly. “Let him see the bloodline of Valefor,” he said.
“Let him understand that strength isn’t made in a lab. It’s forged on the battlefield.”
Vandred’s eyes darkened, but his grin stayed.
“He’s always hidden behind his beasts,” he said. “Always treating them like tools.”
Lord L’s voice stayed calm. “That’s his way,” he said.
“But you-you fight with your beasts. You know them. You respect them.”
Vandred nodded. “That’s the difference,” he said. “That’s why I’ll win.”
Lord L’s eyes gleamed. “Then make sure of it,” he said.
“Show the world that Valefor doesn’t kneel to Aurelius.”
Vandred’s grin turned savage. “He won’t even know what hit him,” he said.
“And when he loses, he’ll know who was truly strong.”
Lord L stood straighter. “Good,” he said. “That’s the warrior I wanted to see.”
Vandred tilted his head. “Then I’ll give you the show you want,” he said.
Lord L nodded slowly.
“Don’t hold back,” he said. “This is your moment. And Valefor’s too.”
Vandred’s eyes glowed. “I never hold back,” he said.
Lord L smiled faintly. “Then go,” he said. “Liline is waiting. Your beast is ready.”
Vandred turned and stood.
“Hadrian will learn that,” he said. “Valefor’s strength is real.”
Lord L watched him stand and smiled.
“Now the fusion is almost over. Let’s go see it.”
Vandred’s grin widened. “I see.”
“Let’s see the beast that I’ll use to beat the hell out of that stupid Hadrian.”
They walked down the corridor, their steps echoing on the cold floor.
Lord L’s eyes glowed faintly.
“You know, Vandred, this fusion process is no small thing.”
“What you’ll see—no one else has dared to try it yet.”
Vandred’s eyes glinted. “Good. I’ve always wanted to do what others fear.”
They reached the fusion chamber. The air was thick with energy.
Sparks and smoke drifted around the edges.
Liline stood by the control panel.
“The fusion is nearly complete,” she said. “It’s stabilizing now.”
Vandred’s eyes narrowed, watching the chamber glow bright.
“I can feel it. The strength comes from inside.”
Lord L nodded. “This beast—it’s your weapon. Your proof.”
Vandred crossed his arms. “Hadrian thinks beasts are just tools,” he said.
“That’s his mistake. I know my beast. We fight together.”
Lord L’s smile was cold. “And that’s why you’ll win,” he said.
“Hadrian underestimates the bond between warrior and beast.”
Vandred’s grin turned sharp. “He’s always thought he was above everyone else.”
“It’s time he saw what a real warrior looks like.”
Liline looked at the monitors. “Stabilization complete. It’s ready.”
Vandred stepped closer, eyes locked on the chamber. “Open it.”
Steam hissed as the doors slowly parted.
A massive silhouette emerged, its eyes glowing red, its body armoured and alive with energy.
Lord L’s voice was calm. “Your new beast, Lord Vandred.”
Vandred’s chest rose as he stared at it. “Perfect,” he said. “Hadrian won’t know what hit him.”
—
Hadrian sat in his chair, his eyes cold and steady.
The room was dim, with only the soft glow of monitors reflecting on his pale skin.
He leaned forward.
“Theron, be wary,” he said.
“Heighten the security. I will be fighting soon.”
Theron’s face appeared on a small screen.
“Yes, Lord Hadrian,” he said.
Hadrian’s eyes glowed faintly.
“I know I will win,” he continued.
“But this Luxoria Castle—something about it feels off.”
Theron nodded. “Understood,” he said.
Hadrian’s fingers tapped the armrest.
“Luxoria Castle is not a normal place,” he said.
“There’s more to it than they show. I trust my gut. That’s why I’m here.”
Theron’s eyes narrowed. “I will not let them surprise us,” he said.
Hadrian nodded. “Good. That’s why you’re here.”
He paused, his eyes sharp. “Also…”
“Tell my sons and daughter—Victor, Cassius, and Sylvia—that a war is coming.”
Theron’s eyes glinted. “They will be ready,” he said.
Hadrian’s gaze stayed firm. “They need to be,” he said.
“Luxoria Castle underestimates the Aurelius family. They think they can challenge us.”
Theron’s face remained calm. “They will learn,” he said.
Hadrian’s lips curved slightly. “Yes,” he said.
“They will learn that we are not that weak.”
He leaned back in his chair, his eyes cold.
“Prepare my beast,” he said. “Make sure it’s in top performance.”
Theron’s face stayed serious on the screen.
“Understood,” he said. “The beast will be ready.”
Hadrian’s eyes glowed faintly.
“I don’t want any mistakes,” he said. “Everything must go as planned.”
Theron nodded once. “It will,” he said.
“Luxoria Castle will see the strength of the Aurelius family.”
Hadrian’s lips stayed curved. “Good,” he said. “Let them come.”
