Chapter 48: Beast Exchange Pavilion
Lucius and Luna were currently walking around the market. Luna then looked at Lucius as she was curious. “Master, what kind of beasts are we looking for?”

Lucius didn’t stop walking as he replied, “It doesn’t really matter. They are for experiments so anything is okay, but if we happen to see something interesting, I don’t mind buying it.”

Luna nodded as she smiled. “Got it, Master. Cheap beasts for now, strong ones for later. Simple enough.” Lucius only chuckled after hearing.

They then soon arrived at the tallest building in the market. There was also a plaque that had the words “Beast Exchange Pavilion” in golden letters.

Luna was quite amazed by the building and said to Lucius, “Impressive. This must be where they sell numerous kinds of beasts.”

Lucius nodded. “Exactly. Let’s see what they have to offer to us.” Both of them then began to enter the pavillion.

The moment they entered it, they were amazed by the huge and luxurious hall with polished floors and walls lined with glowing panels displaying images of various beasts.

Lucius then went to one of the receptionists, and the woman behind it stood and bowed toward Lucius while politely greeting him.

“Welcome to the Beast Exchange Pavilion. Are you here to buy, sell, or perhaps both?” She asked when seeing Lucius wearing nice clothes.

Lucius was a bit surprised. He then smiled and stepped forward as he asked, “So, the Beast Exchange Pavilion handles both buying and selling beasts?”

The woman immediately nodded, confirming it. “Yes, sir. The Beast Exchange Pavilion caters to all levels of beast tamers and Evolists, whether in selling or buying beasts.”

Lucius only smirked after hearing it and asked, “Interesting. Then could you tell me what’s the price range of the beasts that are sold here?”

The receptionist then began to explain it to Lucius about the price: “Our prices are different for every level of beast.” She then explained it in a simpler way.

1-Star beasts: 100 to 500 Beast Coins.

2-Star beasts: 1,000 to 5,000 Beast Coins.

3-Star beasts: 10,000 to 50,000 Beast Coins.

Lucius nodded after hearing about the prices and immediately asked for a recommendation: “And what would you recommend for basic experiments?”

The receptionist then immediately recommended him a beast: “For experiments, I suggest the 1-Star White Beast. It resembles a small mouse, though it is not one.”

She also explained the reason behind this recommendation. “The White Beasts are easy to handle and also basic, making it easy to evolve it into numerous directions and also ideal for experiment.”

Lucius tapped his chin and smirked. “A versatile option. I see why you recommend it to me. I will take ten of them then.”

The receptionist immediately smiled after Lucius bought something from her. “Very well. That will be 1,000 Beast Coins, but do you have beast rings, sir? You’ll need them to store them.”

Lucius arched an eyebrow and immediately asked, “How much for a Beast Ring, then? I forgot to bring them.”

The receptionist then told him the price: “The most basic 1-Star Beast Ring costs about 100 Beast Coins. For ten beasts, you’ll need ten rings. That brings your total to 2,000 Beast Coins.”

Lucius only smiled as he nodded. “Very well, then. I’ll take those rings.” He then reached into his Eternal Vault within his system.

He also made it appear as if he had pulled the coins from a standard spatial ring to hide his system’s Eternal Vault.

Lucius then placed the pouch of BC on the counter and said, “Here is the pouch that contains the 2,000 BC for those items.”

The receptionist quickly counted the coins before nodding in satisfaction. She then immediately went to the back to take the ten small rings that had been filled with the White Beasts.

“Thank you for your purchase, sir. If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to ask,” she said, and she also tried to be professional.

Lucius took the rings with a smile and turned back. He also said something before leaving: “I will come here again if I need anything.”

Luna also followed Lucius closely from behind. The two then exited the pavillion, returning back into the bustling market.

While they were walking, Lucius began to look at the ten Beast Rings that were currently on his hands. He began to think of something.

Luna glanced at him and asked, as she was curious, “Master, you’ve been quiet. Something on your mind?”

Lucius smirked after being asked and only replied, “Just ignore me… I was just thinking of something about these rings.”

Luna nodded but still she observed Lucius, as she was really curious about what Lucius was about to do with those rings.

Lucius began to think, “The Eternal Vault suspends anything placed inside it, freezing it in time. Can it also pause the beasts within these rings? If it can then, it will be very interesting.”

Lucius then immediately tried to test the theory. Lucius then began to put the beast rings into the system’s vault and it was a success. The rings began to disappear one by one.

Lucius now knew that he could put the beast rings inside the system’s vault so he didn’t know if it would pause the beasts or not so he decided to test something.

In a corner, Lucius activated the beast ring, releasing a small white beast into the ground. The beast was white and also resembled a rodent.

Luna crouched beside it as she petted it. “So small, but I can see why they’re good for experiments. It looks like it could evolve into almost anything.”

Lucius only smirked as he was quite amused watching the interaction between Luna and the white beast. “Indeed, but now let me test my theory.”

Lucius then immediately gave it some good to eat and, after that, immediately put it back to the beast ring.

Lucius also placed the ring back into the system’s vault. If what he thought was true, then the white beast would still be eating the food when he let it out later.
