Chapter 62: System Upgrade
The morning had come as Lucius soon woke up. He didn’t waste any time as he immediately called, “System on.”

Lucius soon looked at the system interface and was quite surprised that it had changed a bit. It was not filled with the word “Beast Hacking System” anymore, but instead its current function.

Lucius realized that the system had organized its function, but he frowned as soon as he realized that there were no other changes. “Don’t tell me the so-called upgrade was just this.”

Lucius then smirked as he turned toward the system, “So that’s what it was. The upgrade wasn’t just a cosmetic change but an injection of knowledge.”

Lucius then smirked even more as he continued, “I felt the pain because the system is injecting me with knowledge and now I fully understand how every function works: hacking, fusion, the Eternal Vault.”

Lucius then frowned after realizing what he had done the day before: “Damn it to think that I wasted my time on the experiment yesterday, but still, because of it, I know that I cannot hide myself anymore.”

Lucius then turned to the system again, still frowning as he now knew a new knowledge. “But still, to think that to advance to 4-Star tamer is way harder than I think.”

From the system, he knew that to advance to a 4-Star Tamer, having a 4-Star was not enough. The tamer also needed to stabilize the energy to break through to 4-Star.

When he heard it, he could say that it was pretty much the same as before, as when the beast reached the next star, the tamer used the energy to advance.

But this time, the time needed to stabilize the energy to advance was varied according to the talent. The lower the talent, the longer the time. Even someone who had King Talent may have taken 1 to 2 years to advance.

Lucius then also said, “No wonder there were a lot of 3-Star young tamers, but there were only a few 4-Star tamers as it was that hard.”

Lucius then looked at his remaining points, which were very far from the points he needed for upgrading his talent.

He immediately entered the room and looked at Liora and Luna, who were currently sleeping and immediately woke up.

The moment they woke up, they were sweating and also gasping for air. Their bodies were also trembling from battling for 6 months in the virtual world.

Lucius soon stepped closer and smirked, “So, you both of you had already awakened from your virtual training.”

Liora and Luna were surprised by Lucius that had entered their room. They immediately tried to get up and kneeled.

But Lucius immediately stopped them by raising his hand, “Stay where you are. No need for formalities right now.”

Lucius then pulled a chair and sat down as he observed them. “Tell me, what are your thoughts on the virtual world you just experienced?”

Liora looked at Lucius and became serious as she said, “It is a brutal world, Master. But still, it was effective, as I’ve never faced anything like it.”

Liora then began to explain how stronger she was now. “Before, I could defeat that Thunder Eagle after a few exchanges, but now… I feel like I could crush it with a single strike.”

Lucius smirked after hearing it and immediately said, “Is that so? Then I will count on you when we face him again and make sure to crush him.”

Liora immediately smiled as she nodded. “Yes, Master. I will make sure that the next time we meet, he will not dare to defy you ever again.”

Lucius smiled after hearing what Liora said and now he turned to Luna. He then asked her about her experience, “How about you, Luna?”

Luna then immediately frowned as she said, “I didn’t fight as much as Liora did but the battles I did face… they changed something in me. My senses are sharper and my reflexes are faster now.”

Lucius smiled after hearing it, “I see. That’s good for you, Luna. You’re a Tamer, not a front-line fighter. Reflexes and heightened senses are exactly what you need to fulfill your role.”

Luna cheeks immediately flushed red after being praised. He then smiled as she said, “Thank you, Master.”

Lucius then stood and looked at both of them. “It seems the virtual training served its purpose. Both of you have grown where Liora grew in strength and Luna in awareness.”

Lucius then began to turn back and say, “But don’t get comfortable. Growth is only valuable if it leads to results. And I expect nothing less than perfection from both of you.”

Liora and Luna nodded in unison as Lucius immediately gestured toward the door, “Now, clean yourselves up. We’re leaving soon, and I have something that requires your full focus and readiness.”

Liora and Luna, who still sat on the bed, immediately bowed again and said in unison, “Yes, Master. We will prepare ourselves now.”

Lucius smiled. “I will be waiting for you in my room. ” Lucius said after leaving the room.
