Chapter 79: Dorian and Kaltrik’s Plan
Dorian was now in his private room, with a communication crystal active on his desk and displaying a figure that was Kaltrik Kryndal.
Kaltrik then looked at Dorian and smirked. He then asked him about the plan: “Dorian, have you done as I instructed you?
Dorian stood and nodded. “Yes, Lord Kaltrik. I have instructed the boy to retrieve the material from Wind Valley—the most dangerous place in this region.”
Kaltrik smiled after hearing it and was satisfied with his job. “Good. That place is crawling with storm bears and rogue beasts. The likelihood of his survival is slim at best.”
Kaltrik also added, “But I don’t think that it was enough. I will send some of my men to ensure that he won’t make it alive from there.”
Dorian frowned a bit after hearing it. “My Lord, if I may… sending more people could increase the risk of suspicion. If he survives and traces anything back to us—”
Kaltrik snapped after being reminded by Dorian. “Silence. Do I need to remind you who I am, Dorian? Or of the consequences of crossing the Kryndal family?”
Dorian kneeled down immediately. He bowed his head low and said, “I am sorry, Lord Kaltrik. I am just worried about the possibility of him surviving.”
Kaltrik frowned and said, “You don’t need to worry. Just listen to me now. You will send your own people as well. Mercenaries—low lives who want quick coin. They’ll make sure no loose ends remain.”
Dorian was a bit hesitant and said, “But what happened if he found out about me? I am just worried about my reputation.”
Kaltrik cut him off with a laugh. “Dorian, don’t tell me you’re worried about your reputation. You’re already a weakling hiding behind your family’s name. Do as I say, or else.”
Dorian swallowed hard as he was scared by Kaltrik’s family. “Yes, Lord Kaltrik. It will be done immediately after this call.”
Kaltrik smirked as he began to turn off the communication crystal. “Good. Lucius dared to hurt my brother and mock my family. He will pay with his life. Dorian, make sure to handle this properly. I don’t tolerate failure.”
Dorian bowed his head lower and said, “Of course, Lord Kaltrik. I’ll ensure it is done perfectly.”
Kaltrik smirked as the projection was almost over and reminded him once more. “By now, the boy must already be on his way. He won’t survive. No one mocks the Kryndals and lives.”
As the connection ended, Dorian fell down. He wiped his sweat before sitting down back on his chair. He then thought about his daughter, Sadrina.
He clenched his fists and muttered, “Sadrina… It’s really fortunate that you’re here as well. It’s time to erase our family’s failure from this world.”
Without wasting another moment, Dorian called his assistant. The man entered the room immediately and bowed down. “Yes, Patriarch?”
Dorian looked at him and ordered, “Send the word to the mercenaries around that I have a task for them to do. This task is worth a lot of money but I need them to be discreet as this is not a ‘light’ job.”
The steward bowed deeply as he began to leave the room hurriedly. “Yes, Patriarch. I will tell them immediately about the task.”
Dorian then leaned back in his chair again after ordering his steward. He was thinking about how to further strengthen the Garran name and erasing the stain that was Sadrina.
Meanwhile, Kaltrik was leaning back on his chair in his own residence. He smirked after thinking about what he had done just now.
He sipped a glass of wine as he murmured, “Lucius… You thought you could hurt my brother and mock the Kryndal family? You’ll learn the price of your arrogance soon enough.”
Kaltrik smirked even wider as he placed the glass on a nearby table. “Wind Valley will be your grave, and I’ll make sure your screams echo long after you’re gone.”
In his mind, the Kryndal name would emerge unscathed—and Lucius would be nothing more than a no name that just died mysteriously in his mission.
—
Lucius was now sitting on a chair and also drinking some tea in the afternoon the next day. Luna, who was sleeping on the bed, had also woken up.
Lucius then looked at Luna, who just woke up and smiled. He also asked her, “Luna, how are you feeling now after a night of sleep?”
Luna looked at Lucius and smiled. “I feel so good, Master. Even when I think of my family, I no longer feel fear. Instead, I feel the need to kill them. They deserve nothing less.”
Lucius smirked as he was satisfied. His hack on Luna had worked perfectly, replacing her fear with an unshakable confidence that had been tempered all day by her own family.

Lucius smiled and said, “Fear is a weakness we can’t afford, but the desire for vengeance—that’s something we can use.”
He leaned back in his chair and reminded her, “Remember, Luna, strength and strategy are the keys to survival. Channel your emotions into power and let them guide your power.”
Luna nodded as she smirked. “I understand, Master. I will always remember it and use it to fuel my power.”
Lucius turned his attention to Liora, who stood near the door with her arms crossed. “Liora, you are stronger at night, so we will complete the mission then. Because of that, I want both of you to handle something first.”
He picked up the paper from the table and handed it to Luna, along with a small stack of beast rings. “Take this list. Buy everything I’ve written down.”
Luna took the paper and glanced over it for a moment before turning back to Lucius. “Understood, Master, but what about these beast rings?”
Lucius smirked. “Sell them. Most are empty and just sell them cheap. The five marked with a red seal contain beasts I’ve evolved. Those will sell for a lot. The money will be used for your shopping.”
Liora nodded. “Leave it to us, Master. Luna and I will handle everything. And tonight, my power will be at its peak.”
Lucius nodded and smiled. “Good. You’re strongest under the moonlight, Liora, and we’ll use that to our advantage. Prepare yourselves. When the sun sets, we’ll move.”
Luna smirked as she kept the paper and empty rings in her spatial ring. “You won’t have to worry about a thing, Master. Liora and I will take care of this.”
Liora nodded and said, “We will be back before nightfall, Master.”
Lucius then raised his tea cup once more. “Go, then. Make sure no one follows you. We can’t afford any interference.”
The two women nodded in unison before turning and leaving the room. Luna was now even more confident than before and Liora was also ready for anything.
