Chapter 88: Crushing Assassins and Seizing Control
04 stood frozen as her sickle hand was still pressing against Lucius; neck. She was in disbelief as her proud attack was stopped by Lucius and she didn’t even know how he did it.

Lucius only smirked as he reached the sickle hand with his left hand and gripped it, pulling it away from his neck with ease while mocking how weak she was. “You thought that would work? How disappointing.”

04 was tensed with anger as she heard it and without hesitation, she drew a dagger from her belt with her free hand, aiming directly at Luciu’s unprotected head, thinking that nothing could stop her.

But Lucius was also fast and used his right hand to grip her wrist before the dagger could make contact. The two locked eyes and scanned each other.

Lucius smirked as he tightened his grip on both her arms. His strength was undeniable, and the bulge in her chest didn’t escape his eyes.

He immediately knew who she was and mocked her. “So, you’re a woman, huh? A bitch trying to kill me? That’s a dangerous game. And do you know what I do to bad bitches?”

Without waiting for a response, Lucius acted. He jumped and used both his legs to deliver a brutal dropkick to her chest. The impact sent 04 flying backward, her body crashing through the underbrush.

She hit the ground hard, slidding several feet before coming to a stop, but Lucius wasn’t finished with her. He rushed toward her and kicked her body upward, her sickle arm flailing uselessly as she tried to regain control.

Lucius leaped into the air after her and after he reached her, he brought both hands together, clasping them like an axe.

He then brought them down on her back, slamming her body into the ground with a resounding thud.

04 groaned weakly, her body twitching as she tried to push herself up, but Lucius landed beside her. He smirked as he raised his foot above her.

“Stay down,” Lucius said and stomped down on her stomach with brutal force. 04 let out a gasp before her body went limp. She lay unconscious at his feet, her chest rising and falling faintly as she clung to life.

Liora was smiling as she watched Lucius effortlessly defeat his opponent. She then smirked and let out a chuckle, flexing her glowing claws as she turned her gaze back to her own opponent—03.

The assassin suddenly became tense as he raised his sickle arm defensively. He could sense that Liora was different than before after watching the fight.

Liora looked at 03 and smirked. “My master has already crushed your companion and now it’s my turn.”

She also tilted her head as she rushed toward him. “I’ll make this quick—or maybe I won’t. Let’s see how much fun I can have first.”

03 didn’t respond. Instead, he shifted slightly, adjusting his stance as he prepared to counter. But Liora didn’t wait for him to make the first move.

Liora lunged forward, activating her lunar claws. Her glowing claws were aiming directly for 03’s chest.

The assassin raised his sickle arm to block Liora’s claws and soon his sickle claw met her claws with a loud clang.

Liora began to hold the advantage as her claws dug into the edge of the sickle arm, forcing 03 back several steps. His feet scraped against the dirt as he struggled to maintain his balance under Liora’s strong attack.

Liora looked down at 03 and smirked. “You are strong, but not strong enough if you are planning to kill us.”

03 gritted his teeth behind his mask as he was frustated. He realized that he couldn’t match Liora in raw strength, so he shifted his strategy.

With a sudden burst of energy, he attempted to leap back, creating distance between them as he began to summon his own beast.

Liora already knew what 03 was about to do and she smirked, thinking about it. “Oh no, you don’t.” She took a deep breath, her chest swelling as she unleashed a deafening lunar roar.

The shockwave from Liora’s lunar roar was disrupting 03’s focus and his summoning portal immediately closed down as he stumbled, clutching his head as the roar reverberated in his ears.

Liora walked to him and mocked, “Pathetic. To think that you wanted to summon your beast when you can’t even stand up to me. Are you thinking that your beast will make a difference?”

Taking advantage of 03’s disorientation, Liora closed the distance between them and struck him with a powerful swipe to his stomach, her claws stopping just short of tearing him apart.

The force of the blow sent 03 crashing to the ground, his body crumpling as the air was knocked out of his lungs. He gasped, his arms trembling as he tried to push himself up, but his strength failed him.

Liora crouched beside him and smirked as she tilted his head with a single claw. “You should feel lucky that my Master doesn’t want you dead—yet.”

Liora then struck the back of his neck with her claw, knocking 03 unconscious. His body went limp, his sickle arm retracting as he fell into silence. Liora then brushed the dirt from her claws as she turned to Lucius.

Liora flicked her claws clean and was satisfied with her work. “It’s done, Master. He wasn’t much of a challenge, though I did enjoy toying with him.”

Lucius turned to her and approved her. “Efficient, as always. You handled him quite well. Now, we’ll make use of these new tools.”

Luna stepped forward and smirked as she glanced at the unconscious assassins. “Two prizes. What should we do with them, Master?”

Lucius smirked and said, “Bind them. I want to test something on them that will make sure to make the one who sent them regret ever sending them.”

Liora and Luna exchanged a brief glance before nodding unison as they began to work. They immediately used the surrounding vines to bind them temporarily and were curious about what Lucius would do to them.
