Chapter 92: Hadric’s Downfall
Liora smirked as she looked at Hadric and his Gale Wolf. “Is that all you’ve got? I expect more from a 4-Star tamer.”
Hadric snapped after being mocked by an injured maid. He turned to his Gale Wolf and ordered, “Kill her! I want her to regret mocking me!”
The Gale Wolf stood and tried to finish Liora, but it was currently weak. The Spiral Gust had taken a toll on its energy reserves, leaving it vulnerable.
Liora noticed it immediately and seized the opportunity as she rushed toward the Gale Wolf.
The Gale Wolf tried to defend itself, summoning a thin barrier of wind around its head, but Liora was stronger as its lunar blessing activated.
She lunged and grabbed the wolf’s head with her left claw, pinning it to the ground.
With a smirk, she raised her glowing right claw as she poured all her strength into it.
“This is the end. For you—and your pathetic master.”
Her claw went down, piercing both the thin barrier and the Gale Wolf’s skull in one strike.
The wolf let out a painful howl as it fell down and died. Its head spurted a lot of blood.
Liora smirked as she withdrew her claw, the sharp nails dripping with blood and fragments of the beast’s brain.
She then turned to Lucius and showed him the brain and blood of Hadric’s beast.
Hadric vomitted in blood as his tamed beast had been killed. His body also trembled because of it.
“Impossible….”
“You… you killed my Gale Wolf.”
Lucius looked at the dead wolf and turned to Hadric. He smirked as he mocked Hadric.
“Your arrogance led you here, Hadric. And now, you’ve lost everything.”
Hadric fell to his knees, clasping his trembling hands as he begged. “Please… spare me…”
Liora scoffed, wiping the blood from her claws. “You were so confident a moment ago. Where’s that arrogance now?”
Hadric was still trembling and kept kneeling down until Lucius spared his life.
Lucius stepped forward and raised his hand to silence Liora. He turned back to Hadric. “Your fate was sealed the moment you crossed me.”
Without warning, Lucius reached out to him and pierced Hadric’s chest with his own hand.
Hadric let out a gasp as Lucius’ finger was wrapping around his heart, not believing what Lucius had done.
Lucius, without any emotion, pulled out Hadric’s heart that was still faintly pulsing in his hand. “Weakness disgusts me.”
Hadric could not even speak as he began to collapse to the ground, becoming a cold corpse.
Lucius stared at the heart for a moment before tossing it aside without a second thought.
He turned to Liora and said, “That’s enough for him. Clean up if there’s anything left.”
Lucius then turned to see how Luna was doing. Luna approached, stepping over the bodies of the fallen mercenaries she had killed.
She was spinning her bloodied dagger idly and turned to Lucius and showed him her daggers.
“Master, the dagger that you gave me is so powerful. They didn’t even have a chance to fight back.”

Lucius smirked, “Good job, for killing them all.”
Luna tilted her head and smirked wide. “Of course, Master. They were nothing more than lambs to the slaughter.”
Lucius then looked around and smirked as there were a lot of corpses to become his food.
Lucius turned to his system and said, “Absorb all of the corpses and turn them into Hack Points.”

Lucius watched as the system began to process the surrounding resources.
The corpses of Hadric, his Gale Wolf, and the fallen mercenaries became dry corpses as they were absorbed by the system.
He could see that his hack points increased rapidly as the high-value targets were processed.
Lucius smirked and chuckled. “A 4-Star Tamer and his beast, they’ve proven more useful in death than they ever were in life.”
Liora stepped closer and looked at the dried corpses of Hadric and his men.
She turned to Lucius and said, “Master, your ability to turn every situation to your advantage is unparalleled.”
Lucius glanced at her and smirked. “It’s not enough to win, Liora. You must extract every ounce of value from the victory.”
As the last of the corpses dried out, Lucius turned to his maids and said, “We’re done here. Let’s return. There’s more work to be done.”
Liora and Luna nodded. “As you command, Master.”
Luna spun her daggers one last time before sheathing them in. “What’s next, master?”
Lucius didn’t answer immediately as he smirked while walking with his maids, returning back to the city.

Kaltrik Kryndal was sipping a glass of aged wine while sitting on a sofa. He was really satisfied after thinking about what he had done.
He swirled the wine in his glass and smirked. “03 and 04… two of the finest assassins of the Kryndal family. Trained to kill without hesitation.”
He leaned back in his chair and said, “And they’re up against a mere 3-Star Evolist. Lucius won’t stand a chance at all.”
He looked to the sky and said, “By now he’s should be lying in his own blood pool, wondering why he ever dared to cross the Kryndals.”
He then laughed hard. “And with Lucius gone, the Volcaria family will think twice before involving themselves further.”
Kaltrik smirked as he was really satisfied with his own plan. “My plans are flawless.”
“By eliminating Lucius, I’ve not only avenged Kaelix’s humiliation but also sent a message to anyone foolish enough to challenge us. The Kryndals are untouchable.”
“Lucius may have thought himself clever, but cleverness means nothing without power.”
Kaltrik raised up his wind glass to celebrate it. “Thank you, Lucius. Your death will bring the raise of my family.”
Unbeknownst to him, the very assassins that he sent to kill Lucius had returned to the family, but they didn’t return for him.
