Chapter 105: Chapter 105 Chapter 105: Chapter 105 Aiden followed Carla into the office.
His body was present, but his mind and heart were with Ariel.
He was restless, wondering what she’d be deciding in her mind right then.
“Relax, Boss.
This doesn’t change anything, she’s just angry, she’s not going to-” “I love her, Carla, don’t you understand?
What if she decides to divorce me?
I’m still trying to amend my relationship with her because of how I treated her in the beginning, and now I messed it all up.
I can’t live without her, Carla…I’m really hopeless right now…if she leaves, I’ll never love again, that means I want right, every woman is like her…” He slumped back against the chair and covered his face with his hands.
“I disagree, Aiden.
I’m nothing like Emily, and you know Ariel is nothing like that…you did fall in love with her, right?” Carla questioned from the chair beside Aiden.
Aiden sighed, “I think I’m just unfit to love, Carla…I keep hurting the person I love…am I perhaps the one like Emily all this while?
I’m her son, after all,” He ran his hand through his hair and blew out a short air.
“No.
You’re not like Emily, Aiden.
You’re the sweetest person to walk the earth, and I’m sure Ariel knows that; that’s probably why she fell in love with you, too,” Carla consoled.
“But, she walked away,” He replied, not looking convinced.
Carla shrugged, “Of course, I’d leave too.” Aiden sat up and snapped his head to her, “What do you mean?” Carla smiled and tapped his knee, “Relax, lover boy.
All I’m saying is that anyone would have gotten angry and walked away, too.
No one appreciates a partner who hides things from them, and then, the partner turns around and accuses them of lying when they speak the truth their partner already knew of…it just makes them feel awful, excluded and…unloved,” She explained.
Aiden was quiet, “I did do that…” He spoke after a while.
Carla nodded.
“But, I was just trying to protect Moon’s image,” Aiden defended.
Carla scoffed, surprising Aiden.
“So end up divorced while trying to protect your adopted sister’s image?” She questioned directly.
Aiden understood that he had fucked up.
He had hurt Ariel’s feelings by making her look like a liar and also choosing to side with Moon over her.
“It’s good you’re recognizing your flaws, it helps for a healthy relationship.
But I have a few questions…” Carla spoke gently beside him.
Aiden nodded, focusing his mind on what Carla was saying.
“About Moon, when did you realize that she viewed you differently?” Carla asked.

Aiden tapped his foot quietly on the floor, thinking back to that period when Moon almost confessed to wanting him to love her more than a sister.
“A week plus ago…I guess,” He replied, scratching the side of his head.
Carla nodded, “Ariel definitely found out before you did.
That’s why she thought you’ve known all along and was probably considering giving into Moon,” Carla shrugged a shoulder.
Aiden shook his head, “That’d be crazy, Carla, you know it’s wrong.” “We’ll, she doesn’t know what’s going on inside your head, you never said anything to her, and trust me, women are perceptive, we can sense when another woman likes our men from another continent, we’re built that way.
And we know when our men know and just pretend like they don’t know,” Carla explained.
Aiden blinked in confusion, staring at Carla.
“Ariel thought you were considering giving in to the forbidden romance between you and Moon and then ending up discarding her because permit me to remind you that you’ve given her enough reasons in the past to think that way,” Carla reminded.
Aiden felt the guilt wash all over him as he heard Carla’s words.
“Actually, that’s one of the things I wanted to discuss with you, too,” Aiden started.
“Moon seems to be obsessed with me, and she’s been acting reckless recently, suicidal too…” Aiden complained.
Carla could see the concern of a brother for his sister in Aiden’s face, but why was Moon trying to destroy such a beautiful relationship between her and Aiden?
“She doesn’t just ‘seem’ to be obsessed with you, she ‘is’ obsessed with you, and it’s sad how you’re the last person to discover it all these years-” “Grandma knows?” Aiden’s eyes were widened in fear.
He couldn’t imagine how Grandma Nari would feel finding out that the child she had adopted was crushing on her sibling.
Carla shook her head, “Moon tends to be at her best sibling and child behavior whenever she’s with Grandma Nari, so, the old lady must be clueless unless her instinct makes her realize that those smiles Moon always sent your way had a double meaning to them,” Carla played with the stethoscope around her neck, watching Aiden’s face look like he was ready to barf any second from then.
Aiden sighed in relief, “You know Grandma if she knew, she would have said it a long time ago.
But, what am I going to do about Moon?
I’m afraid she might harm herself if I confront her about it; that’s why I need you to help her out; maybe she might listen to your professional advice.” Carla smiled, ” I can give you a list of things that are wrong with Moon.
Firstly, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) traits, such as emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and unstable relationships.
Secondly, Obsessive or attachment-related issues; I think this issue might stem from the early demise of her parent; you were the closest to her when she moved in with Grandma Nari, so she sees you as her emotional pillar, which she can rely on for any form of emotional support.
Thirdly, Self-harm or suicidal ideation.
Fourthly, potential underlying trauma or unaddressed emotional pain.
However, I can’t help you in treating her; it’s not my field.
I’ll have to refer you to Dr.
Debra downstairs; she’s the psychologist, not me,” She responded.
Aiden listened carefully and felt sad that he could relate Moon’s behavior to everything Carla had listed above.
He’d been a careless brother; why hadn’t he noticed this early and sought help?
Now it seemed too late to do it, and he wouldn’t want to cut contact with Moon, but he was afraid that it would be his last resort if everything didn’t work out.
“Relax, Aiden.
Don’t beat yourself up.
Have sounded faith in your staff, you got the best medical team in your hospital, and with Dr.
Debra’s counseling, Moon would heal, trust me,” Carla gently patted Aiden’s arm.
“Now, go seek yourself out with your wife; trust me, no psychologist can help you out with that one; a woman’s wrath can only be cured with the right loving…” Carla stood from her chair and walked around her table.
“I said, ‘the right loving.’ So be careful when choosing the love you offer her, don’t make it all worse,” She smiled at him.
Aiden scoffed, “Yeah, you’ve just made it easier for me,” He replied sarcastically.
He stood and walked toward the door, hesitating to pull it open.
“Go,” Carla shooed him out of her office.
Aiden didn’t use the elevator, Ariel hadn’t.
He didn’t want to miss her on the way.
He was walking past Moon’s hospital room and heard a movement in there; he was torn between going in to check how Moon was doing or continuing his search for Ariel.
He had taken a step past the door when he heard Ariel’s voice from inside the room.
He instantly turned and walked back to the door.
He took a deep breath before pushing it open.
“Viktor?” He called in surprise.
And it wasn’t only Viktor who was in the room; Ken sat on the chair in a corner, casually scrolling through his phone like what was going on around him wasn’t his cup of tea.
“Oh, Aiden,” Viktoe called quietly.
Ariel had heard Aiden’s voice the moment he entered and refused to look at him.
She slowly started to walk toward Ken, whose face lightened up the moment he saw Ariel walking toward him.
Ariel had been ignoring him since he arrived with Viktor and it had made him very uncomfortable; he was still feeling very guilty for what he planned with Moon, and it made him uncomfortable each time Ariel was beside him and any little attitude from Ariel made his blood pressure rise as if she’d found out what he’d done.
“Hey,” Ariel said softly to him when she reached his side.
“Hey, damsel,” Ken stood and offered Ariel the chair he was sitting on.
Ariel smiled at him as she lowered herself onto the chair.
She knew it was wrong, but she had to use Ken to divert her attention, who was back to check on his sweetheart.
She’d be so stupid.
“Um,” Ariem blinked away from Ariek and Ken.
“What are you guys doing here?” He questioned Ken who was sitting beside Moon’s bed.
“We wanted to hang out with you and Ariel, but when we called she told us that you’ve rough Moon over to the hospital due to some emergency.
So we rushed over here and she brought us up to her room,” Viktor explained.
“Good thing you’re here, I was just about stepping out with my wife.
Do take care of my sister,” He said to Viktor and marched over to Ariel, who was busy smiling at something Ken was saying.
He reached her side, squatted beside her leg, and tried to hold her hand but she moved away from him.
Ken frowned, since when did Aiden want to initiate body contact with Ariel?
Aiden sighed and reached out for her hand again, holding it this time.
Even though Ariek was looking away from him, it gave him hope that she wasn’t evading his touch again.
“Please, Moma, I was wrong to speak to you the way I did…just give me a chance to explain everything to you…please?” Aiden’s voice was so soft that Viktor almost didn’t hear it.
Ken was shocked out of his skin.
Is this what he thought it was?
Ariel felt her heart soften at Aiden’s words; at least he knew his mistake; she just wanted to make sure he’s not been fooling her all this while.
She was about to respond when Moon’s voice was suddenly heard.
“Aiden…my head hurts…” Ariel sighed and stood from the chair, “That’s your client to get back to work,” She said to Aiden and walked out of the room.
