Chapter 108: Chapter 108 Chapter 108: Chapter 108 In Jess’ house, Ariel sat on the floor, leaning her back on the sofa with her laptop on her thighs.
It’s been a day since she left Aiden, and she’s not found any single peace as she claimed she would.
After pretending to have fun yesterday, she couldn’t carry on that way any longer.
She needed to find something to keep her mind busy and away from thinking about Aiden and wanting to send him a text.
She knew Moon was still at the hospital, and there wasn’t a way in hell that Aiden wouldn’t go to visit his sister.
So, she just wanted to give them space to go through their weird sibling bonding era.
She shook her head to get the disturbing thighs out of her head; she needed maximum concentration for what she was about to do on her laptop.
She heard the door to Jess’ room open and knew that she was awake.
Ariel had gotten up quite early since she couldn’t get enough sleep, her mind kept wondering what Aiden was doing, so she left the room and came out to the living room.
Jess stretched in front of her door as she yawned widely.
She roamed her eyes around her living room until she saw Areil’s head bent over her laptop.
She thought Ariel hadn’t heard her come out, so she quietly tiptoed toward her, planning to scare her.
She successfully reached behind the sofa and took in a long breath, but before she could make any scary sound, Ariel threw a pillow backward at her, knocking her withheld air out of her lungs.
“Oof!” Jess grunted and threw herself over the sofa, positioning her legs between Ariel.
“You meanie!” Jess whined, pressing her fingers on Ariel’s shoulder.
“Good morning, Jess.
I see you woke up with tons of energy,” Ariel chuckled, not taking her eyes off her screen.
“Ahh, yes, I did…how about you, what are you doing?
Working so early?” Jess squinted her eyes and leaned forward above Ariel’s head to see what she was doing.
“Wait, what that?” Jess asked, her heart beating rapidly in fear.
Ariel was carried away and had forgotten that she wasn’t supposed to let anyone see what she was doing till it was done.
“Oh, nothing…” She gently closed her laptop and turned her face to the side to smile at Jess.
Jess blinked slowly and nodded.
“Come on, I’m hungry; what are we gonna eat this morning?
I’ll cook; what do you want to eat?” Ariel asked as she walked into the kitchen.
Jess was mute for a second before she responded with the first thing she could remember, “Sandwich…” “Huh?
No way, don’t worry, I’ll choose,” Ariel replied from the kitchen.
“Yeah…” Jess slowly looked down at the closed laptop between her feet.
She couldn’t have seen wrong; she had seen the security room of Aiden’s company on Ariel’s computer.
She didn’t have her working glasses on but that doesn’t mean she was blind.

She saw right, and she knew it could only mean one thing; Ariel was serious about what happened that night.
And if she finds out, it means she and Ken are going down with Moon.
“Oh God…” She buried her face in her hands.
Aiden would never forgive her and Ariel…Ariel trusts her so much it would break their friendship, and she doesn’t want to lose her or have a strained relationship with Aiden.
What should she do?
She could just open up and tell Ariel, but then, what if she was just being paranoid and Ariel was doing something totally different from what she thought?
Then it would be how she just spewed her secrets for no reason…
This was dicey.
If she confessed to Ariel now, then she was betraying Ken; she knew she was being stupid; Ken didn’t give a shit about her, but here she was protecting his interest.
She was betraying Ariel’s trust for a man who didn’t love her.
She felt stupid, but she still couldn’t bring herself to confess it.
If she had been the only one involved, she would have confessed to Ariel a long time ago, but now, she wasn’t the only one involved.
She suddenly got an idea.
She would try to dissuade Ariel from retrieving the deleted records, even though she was still stumped on how Ariel learned how to do that by herself, she knew how much money would spend to get a whitehat, but Ariek had just sat on the floor of her living room and did it like it was typing in Microsoft.
Disaude Ariel and just make her understand that Moon is the bad guy, and then help Ariel in convincing Aiden to see Moon for who she is.
Jess sighed and was about to slump against her sofa when she heard a knock on her door.
“Someone’s at the door!” Ariel shouted from the kitchen.
“I got it!” Jess lifted herself off the sofa and walked toward her door.
“Hey, Jewel, come in,” Jess stepped aside to let him in.
“Good morning, Jess.
Mmh…something smells yummy,” Jewel strode past Jess and entered her kitchen.
“Hey, Princess,” Jewel greeted as he saw Ariel in the kitchen.
“Hey, Jewel, you’re here!” Ariel dropped the wooden spoon in her hand and went to hug Jewel.
“I’m hungry,” Jewel pouted.
Ariel chucked, “I’m almost done; make yourself at home,” She smiled and sat him.
Jess stood at the side, feeling like a visitor in her house.
She was being ignored.
“I’ll just go sit over there then,” Jess muttered to herself and walked back to the living room.
“Aww, she’s sulking, I better go keep her company,” Jewel laughed and walked out of the kitchen.
“Come on, baby, I’m generous; I can share myself with two lovely ladies,” Jewel tried to carcass Jess’ face, but she slapped his hand away.
“Don’t be stupid,” Jess smirked at him.
“Fine, tell me, what’s the deal with you and Ken?” Jewel asked loudly as he plumped himself down beside her.
Jess widened her eyes and quickly placed a hand over Jewel’s mouth.
“Don’t be so loud, Jewel,” She frowned.
Jewel blinked his eyes in confusion; he didn’t understand why Jess was reacting so overboard.
“Chill, Jess,” He removed her hand from her mouth, staring at her suspiciously.
Jess tilted her head and asked, “What do you mean…the deal between me and Ken?
What do you know?” Jess whispered.
Jewel frowned deeper, “What are you hiding, Jess?” He questioned.
Jess sighed.
“You’re keeping me on my toes, just speak already, Jewel.
Did Ken say something to you?” She asked.
Jewel shook his head, “Mr.
Chaz did,” He shrugged.
Jess almost stopped breathing, “What?
Aiden?
What did he say?” She asked urgently.
Jewel narrowed his eyes at her, “Well, he said he couldn’t go on a business trip because his secretary is suddenly missing, so he wanted you and Ken to go instead…that’s why I’m asking what the deal I’d be between you and Ken.
Have you guys already made travel plans together or something?
However, you seem to have something under your sleeves.
Speak up, Jess, what are you hiding?” Jewel pointed accusingly at her.
Jess sighed in relief and fell back against the sofa.
“Damn, Jewel!
Don’t scare me like this again,” She held her chest and breathed in relief.
Jewel was watching her with suspicion; she was surely hiding something.
“What are you hiding, Jess?” He leaned forward, staring into her eyes.
“Nothing,” She leaned back, shaking her head.
“Lie, you did want-” “Ariel!
She’s out with the food, come on, let’s go eat,” Jess sprang up from the sofa and ran toward her small dining table.
“Weird…” Jewel muttered before he went to join them in the dining.
*** Aiden had informed Abbey in the morning to let Eva and her mother know that he’d meet up with them at night; he also provided them with the location.
But, for that afternoon, he had gone to visit Moon and possibly get her back to her house.
He had discussed with Carla the best approach on how they were going to bring up the matter concerning her mental health without hurting her.
It was a delicate matter and he didn’t want to make it worse.
He walked into Moon’s hospital room and found her sitting on the bed, busy on her phone.
Moon heard the door open and raised her head from her phone.
“Aiden!” She smiled and walked over to him, hugging him tightly.
Aiden let her hug him, he refrained from tapping her head because he’d noticed that she didn’t like it.
He simply patted her shoulder and stepped away from her.
“I’m glad you’re better now,” He smiled at her.
Moon nodded, her cheeks turning red.
She was super happy that Ariel wasn’t with Aiden; she could act however she wanted with him.
“Come on, Carla’s waiting,” He held her hand and led her out of the room.
They reached Carla’s office and Aiden pushed the door in, letting Moon walk in first.
He followed her and shut the door.
Moon walked in and recognized Dr.
Debra sitting beside Carla.
She frowned; she knew Dr.
Debra’s department; since when did she start working with Carla?
“Good afternoon, Mr.
Chaz, Moon,” Dr.
Debra greeted as Aiden drew out a chair for Moon to sit on.
“Hello, Debra,” Aiden nodded at her, glancing over at Carla who was quiet.
“How’s your wrist, Moon?” Carla questioned Moon.
Moon smiled, “It’s fine now, I’m ready to leave,” She showed her wrist to Carla.
Carla nodded and turned to Dr.
Debra.
“Yeah…about that.
Before you leave, Dr.
Debra would like to speak with you about a few things…” Carla gently stated.
Moon frowned and turned to Aiden, then she stared at Dr.
Debra.
There was only one thing that’d make Aiden ask Debra to speak with her.
She couldn’t believe this!
“Aiden?” She sprang up from the chair and turned to Aiden.
“Just calm down and listen to what Debra has to-” “You can’t be serious, Aiden!
You think I’m crazy because I slashed my wrist?!” Moon flared.
