Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Ken walked right into her house without an explanation, he paused in front of her for a second, “You said nothing to them, right?” He asked in a whisper.
Jess gripped her fingers around the edge of her door and looked away from him, “If that’s why you’re here, you can go back, I didn’t say anything,” Jess replied in a quiet voice then went to close the door on him but he held her arm and chuckled, “Don’t be petty, Jessica,” he patted her head and then continued to walk into her living room.
Jess stood with her mouth open for a few seconds before she frowned and she shut the door.
She was being petty right?
Great.
The one who left a woman in his house and disappeared isn’t petty, but the woman who refused a man into her house is being petty?
She balled her fist and walked into her living room.
“Good evening, Aiden and Ariel,” Ken greeted as he reached the center of the living room.
Ariel was first surprised to see Ken but she still smiled at him.
“Hi, Ken, visiting too?” She asked.
Ken nodded and lowered himself on the other sofa.
He saw how Aiden and Ariel were sitting together and confirmed what Aiden had told him: they were really together, and he no longer had a chance with her.
“Yeah…I actually came to see Aiden, Gregory told me he was here,” Ken replied, shifting his eyes away from Aiden’s hand that was holding Ariel’s waist.
“You came to see me, or Jess?” Aiden asked with a raised brow.
Jess, who was walking back to the living room, paused when he heard what Aiden said to Ken.
Why did he suspect that Ken was here to see her?
Does he know something?
Ken slowly turned his eyes to Jess and nodded, “I’m here for her too, but I just need to confirm something with you first,” Ken said.
He held Jess’ gaze, making her uncomfortable.
“So what do you want to ask me?” Aiden questioned.
He placed a hand on Ariel’s thigh, allowing his fingers to playfully graze the sides of it.
Ariel placed her hand over his, looked at him, and shook her head, “Don’t be a baby,” She narrowed her eyes at him.
“But I’m your baby, and I’ve missed my Moma,” Aiden replied, leaning his face in to kiss Ariel.
“Ahem!” Jess suddenly cleared her throat and tapped her feet.
Ariel blinked and looked toward her, blushing.
“We’re sorry.
Aiden quit playing around; Ken has something to say to you,” She removed Aiden’s hand from her and moved away from him, going to the other side of the sofa.
Aiden smiled at her before he cleared his throat and faced Ken.
“You were saying?” He smirked at Ken.
Ken knew Aiden was purposely being lovey-dovey with Ariel in front of him just to prove a point.

Jess walked over to the sofa Ken was sitting and sat beside him, not because she wanted to, but because it was the only space left.
She couldn’t just go and sit with Aiden and Ariel, who were still finding it hard to keep their hands on each other.
She didn’t want to be a third wheel.
She sat at the far end of the sofa, leaving a space between her and Ken.
“Um, yeah, I went by to see my cousin, and she told me about Moon and what you’ve decided to do with her…are you sure you want to do that?” He questioned, not looking at the person who had just sat beside him.
Ariel sighed and turned to Aiden.
That’s what they were just talking about.
Yes, she did hate Moon.
Who wouldn’t?
But she just kind of pitied her, if not for her evil personality, Moon wasn’t supposed to be cast aside because of all she’d been through, she needed to be around people who loved and treated her right, and she knew Aiden was the only person who could tolerate her, but just like he said, if Moon would affect his relationship, reputation and mental health, then he would rather let her go.
Aiden nodded at Ken, “It’s not my call, Ken, it’s hers.
I did give her two options.
It’s left for her to choose the one that suits her best, and whatever she decides is fine by me.
She’s an adult, and I can’t be the one making her decisions for her, she’s old enough,” He shrugged.
Ken sighed, “I guess that’s fair enough.
I’m glad you found out,” He said.
Aiden suddenly frowned.
“You know, if one of you said something years ago or sooner, it wouldn’t have gotten to this,” Aiden leaned back and placed his arms on the sofa rest.
Jess chuckled, “You wouldn’t have believed us, Aiden.
Moon was your sunshine.
You never believed she would do any evil, and we all know you recalled her feeding you spiked drink, but you still chose to be quiet about it, so she doesn’t get upset,” She stated boldly.
She could feel Ken’s gaze burning her sides, but she refused to look at him.
He was probably trying to warn her not to mention anything that happened that night, but he could rest assured that she wasn’t as stupid as he thought she was.
Aiden sat up, feeling Ariel’s eyes on him.
It made him uncomfortable because he knew that Ariel had tried to convince him that Moon had spiked his drink, but he had pretended like he didn’t believe her.
“You’re wrong, Jess.
I did know that she spiked my drink, I just didn’t want to expose her yet, I wanted to believe that I was wrong in my belief and was hoping that she would turn a new leaf, but it turned out I was wrong, that’s why I’ve decided to help her out,” Aiden explained.
“So, you chose to believe her and not your wife.
Tell me, what if you lost your wife in the process of trying to protect your sister’s feelings?” Ariel questioned.
Aiden shifted uncomfortably on the sofa.
He was about to reply when Ken spoke before him.
“If he ever makes you sad, Ariel, always remember that I’m always here for you.
No matter how long, I’m always ready to take you,” Ken said seriously, locking his eyes with Ariel.
Jess and Aiden stared at Ken, but both had a different expression on their faces; Aiden was angry, while Jess was hurt and disappointed.
It hurt her that Ken was still very interested in Ariel even after learning that she was now in love with Aiden.
Ariel anxiously cleared her throat, feeling the tension in the air.
“Um, Ken-” “She won’t love you, Ken, that’s called unrequited love.
It hurts, but you’ll learn to live with it, just like the rest of us.
Ariel is happy with my brother, and it’ll be nice, mature, and responsible of you to leave them alone; maybe it’s time you found your own woman, someone who will love you back…” Jess wriggled her fingers together in her lap, avoiding his gaze.
She didn’t mean to end her speech like it was about her, but she couldn’t help it; her chest was heavy with locked emotions that needed to be set free.
Aiden scoffed and stood from the sofa, he went in front of Ariel and lowered himself on his knees in front of her.
“Aiden,” Ariel called in surprise, quickly shifting out and sitting at the edge of the sofa, holding Aiden’s hands.
“Aiden, come on, get up,” She pleaded.
Aiden shook his head, “I’ll get up only when you promise that you’ll never leave me, no matter what, not even if the world is ending; promise me, Ariel,” He raised his hand to the side of her neck and rubbed his thumb across her jaw.
Ariel’s cheek was burning, she couldn’t believe Aiden could act this way in front of his cousin and friend.
“Come on, Aiden.
I’ve told you I’m not going anywhere; I love you too much to leave you.
I’m sorry if the little space I gave you made you doubt my words, but I just wanted to give us some space to thoroughly think about our decisions.
I’m not going anywhere, I promise; it’s you and me forever; as long as you still love me, Aiden, I’ll be by your side,” Ariel assured.
Aiden smiled, hugging Ariel.
He wrapped his hands around her waist, and as he stood, he stood with her, wrapping her legs around his waist.
“Aiden,” Ariel chuckled, hiding her face in the side of his neck; she didn’t want to look at Ken or Jess; she was embarrassed already.
“Good night, Ken.
As my lovely cousin said, you should find a woman who loves you; for me, I’m going in that room to…you know…” He smirked at Ken before turning to walk away with Ariel.
“Aiden, you’re embarrassing me,” Ariep whispered.
“Chill, sweetheart, even if I didn’t say it, they’d still know what we’re doing,” He replied as he carried her into her room, locking the door.
In the living room, Ken and Jess sat quietly, awkwardness filling the air.
“Goodnight,” Jess said and stood from the sofa.
She had only managed to take a step forward when she felt Ken draw her back by her arm.
“Not so fast, Jessica,” He drew her into his arms, staring down at her.
“Let go of me, Ken, I want to go to bed,” Jess pushed against his chest.
“Oh, you will, but first, you have to apologize for gaslighting me in front of my friend and the woman I love,” He whispered behind her ear.
Jess scoffed, “You’re incorrigible, Kenneth.
I just hope you heal faster, and maybe you should actually consider dating Moon; I’ve just realized that you both are sick in the head,” She glared at him and pushed harder against his chest.
Ken grabbed her hands and locked them behind her with his one hand, his other hand going behind her neck, “Sick in the head?” He leaned his face closer to hers.
Jess could feel her pulse start to race, Ken was making it hard for her to hate him.
“Y-yes, Kenneth, you’re sick in the head, now let me go,” She bit out.
Ken nodded, not moving his face away from hers, “Then, why have you fallen in love with someone who’s sick in the head, doesn’t it mean you’re sick too?” He whispered very close to her lips.
Jess licked her lips and blinked slowly, her lips were parted as she breathed through her mouth, feeling out of breath.
“I think so,” She whispered breathlessly.
Ken chuckled, “Do you want me to kiss you, Jessica?” He asked seductively, there was almost no space between their lips.
Jess wasted no time in responding, “Yes, Kenneth, kiss me, please…” She moved her face closer and pressed her lips against his but before she could move them, he leaned away from her.
“I don’t do desperate girls, Jessica.
We’ll talk about travel tomorrow.
Goodnight, Jessica,” He said and walked out of her house.
