Chapter 116: Chapter 116 Chapter 116: Chapter 116 Ariel was sitting in the car with Mr.
Dee, heading to the hospital.
She had left Aiden in the company of Moon, not voluntarily but because Aiden promised that everything was alright new them.
After a lengthy discussion with her grandpa, they got to know each other better, and Ariel Jad told him everything about her and her mother, including how she had died.
Mr.
Dee was sitting beside Ariel in his club downstairs; the place was still a little bit quiet, so they could easily talk without the loud music in the background.
“I apologize again for being absent in your life.
This is all my fault; if I had been a present Father, my wife wouldn’t have died, and my daughter wouldn’t have married that incompetent fool…” Mr.
Dee placed his hand on Ariel’s hand, looking at her with remorseful eyes.
“And, you, my granddaughter, you wouldn’t have faced all those horrible things; trust me, I’ll make him pay for every single pain he’s cost you,” He swore.
Ariel smiled and shook her head, “Don’t worry, Grandpa, he will surely pay but not just now, the time I’d not right yet,” Mr.
Dee sighed and slowly nodded; he wanted to speak but suddenly winced, holding his jaw; Ariel immediately noticed his discomfort and immediately moved closer to him.
“Grandpa, are you okay?” She asked in concern.
Mr.
Dee shook his head, “Don’t worry about it, it’s just my recurrent toothache; you know how it is with old people like us,” He chuckled.
Ariem frowned, “No, Grandpa, I can’t just ignore it; come on, we’re going to the hospital to see a dentist; Aiden has a super nice hospital,” She held his arm and gently tugged it.
Mr.
Dee sighed and stood from the chair, “You’re not going to take no for an answer right?” He asked.
Ariel nodded, “Yes, come on, we have to go take a look at that tooth,” She held his hand and led him out of the club She had come with a taxi after she refused Gregory to drive her here; she just wanted to go out alone, with no one to keep an eye on her since she was some kid to be looked after.
They walked toward Mr.
Dee’s car, and his driver already had his door open for them.
“Good evening, Boss, Mrs.
Chaz,” The driver bowed to them as they entered the car.
Ariel nodded at the driver with a smile, as her mind tried to remember how the driver got to know that she was Mrs.
Chaz.
Could it be that Mr.
Dee had told them about her marriage with Aiden?
She was quiet as the car drove away from the club, she would ask him about it after.
“You don’t have to find too much; I told all my employees that you are my granddaughter and Aiden’s wife, so don’t worry, you’ve got a bigger family here with me,” Mr.
Dee tapped her lap, smiling.

He had seen the confusion on her face when the driver had called her “Mrs.
Chaz,” He didn’t want her worrying or being scared so he just explained it to her.
“Oh, okay, that’s alright,” Ariel smiled.
She didn’t have a problem with hun telling people, even though she hadn’t made it public with Aiden; at least it was good to a few people of her identity.
They soon reached the hospital and Ariel led Mr.
Dee up to Carla’s office.
She gently opened the door and found Carla discussing with some other female doctor.
“Good evening, Carla,” She greeted as she entered.
Carla looked up from the person she was talking with and looked toward the door.
“Oh, good evening, Ariel, welcome; you brought a guest?” She asked, standing from her chair to draw out a chair for Mr.
Dee.
“Good evening, Grandpa,” Carla’s greeted jovially.
“Hello, Ms.
Doctor, are you the dentist?” Mr.
Dee asked.
Ariel chuckled, “No, she’s not Grandpa, she’s a gynecologist, but she could direct you to the dentist,” Ariel replied.
Carla smiled and nodded, “Yes, Grandpa, you want to see the dentist now?” She questioned gently.
Mr.
Dee stared at Ariel who nodded encouragingly at him.
He sighed and nodded, “Yes,” He replied.
Carla turned to the other doctor she was speaking with who had been quietly observing them and spoke.
“Dr.
Debra, please take Grandpa to see the dentist,” Carla asked nicely.
Dr.
Debra stood from the chair and walked over to Mr.
Dee, “Hello, Sir, please follow me,” she spoke politely.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa, she’ll bring you back tonight when you’re done,” Carla assured.
Ariel nodded, agreeing to what Csrks had said.
“Let’s go then, Dr.
Debra,” Mr.
Dee said to Dr.
Debra and turned to walk out of the door.
Dr.
Debra nodded in acknowledgment to Ariel before she followed Mr.
Dee out of the office.
Ariel and Carla were now alone and Ariel sighed, turning to stare at Carla.
She narrowed her eyes when she saw her staring at her with weird eyes.
“What?
Anything in my face?” Ariel questioned, patting her face.
Carla chuckled, shaking her head, “No, nothing, I’m just thinking how happy Grandma Nari would be right now,” she replied with a happy smile.
Ariel frowned, “What do you mean?
Grandma Nari?
Yes, she is happy.
But Aiden?
Not really, you know, dealing with Moon right now, so it’s not really the best moment of his life,” She scratched her neck with her finger, shrugging.
Carla was quiet for a while, she was observing Ariel to see if she was seriously oblivious or just hiding the truth from her.
“Well, that’s a case we all wish that Aiden comes out from, but seriously, that’s not what I was talking about,” Carla said.
Ariel frowned.
“Then, what were you talking about?” Carla tilted her head and stared hard at Ariel.
“You’re glowing,” She stated.
Ariel looked down on her arm and legs.
She had worn loose shorts, so her legs were on display, but she didn’t notice what Carla was talking about; she just loomed normal as she used to.
Maybe Carla just wanted to tease her.
“Alright, thank you, Carla, I know you’re just trying to make me feel good, and I appreciate it,” She sighed and lowered herself to a chair.
“But I just want to sit here and wait for my grandpa, I’ve been feeling really tired these days, maybe because of all the emotional stress in facing,” Carla chuckled and walked over to a drawer to get something from it, “Well, emotional stress might just be the secondary reason for your tiredness, but, baby girl, the primary reason for pregnancy,” She announced, walking back to Ariem’s future a slim o ject in her hand.
Ariel froze, her brain shut down for a whole minute as she stared at Carla and replayed her words in her head.
‘Pregnancy?!’ She thought quietly.
She thought she was keeping records for her next period.
Had she missed it for real this time?
She looked down at Carla’s hand and immediately recognized what she was holding, but her brain still made her ask what it was, “W-whats that?” She pointed at the object in Carla’s hand.
Carla chuckled, “It’s what you think it is, please get into that door and pour some urine into this for me, maybe when you see it, you’ll believe it,” She went back to the drawer and took a sterile glove and a sterile plastic cup, handing it over to Ariel.
Ariel stared at the objects with a thudding heart; she took a deep breath before she collected them from her and walked into the door by the corner.
Soon, Ariel walked out with a cup full of urine, and Carla took it from her with her gloved hands.
“Throw it in the crash, then sit back and wait for a few minutes,” Carla instructed.
Ariel did as she was asked and sat down, anxiously tapping her feet on the floor as she watched Carla drop her urine on the cassette.
Carla finished and sat beside Ariel, the test strip sitting on the table in front of them.
Ariel was quiet, gently scratching her thighs.
“It’s ready, you check it,” Carla pointed to the test strip.
Ariel took a deep breath and rubbed the edge of her sweaty palms on her shorts before she took the test strip and turned it to her face.
She gasped; she couldn’t believe it, her eyes must be deceiving her.
“Pregnant…” She whispered, her eyes becoming misty.
Carla smiled, “Congratulations.” She patted her shoulder.
Ariel covered her mouth with her hand as she stared at the possible result.
“Oh my God…we made a baby,” tears fell down her face, her cheeks reddening as she cried.
“Aww, don’t make me cry too,” Carla hugged her, rubbing her back.
She was glad Aiden finally found the right person for him; she knew he was the happiest person when he heard the news.
“Should I call him and inform him,” Carla pulled back from the hug and asked Ariel.
Ariel hurried to shake her head.
“No, no, I’ll tell him when I get home, please, do not inform him, I beg you,” Ariel sniffed, wiping her tears.
“Okay, as you wish,” Carla replied.
Ariel quickly put the test strip in her bag when she heard the door being opened from behind.
“We’re back, Ariel,” Mr.
Dee announced.
