Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Chapter 123: Chapter 123 As Mr.
Sloan walked away to go check what was wrong with the signal in the bridge, Eva stood behind Ariel, quietly looking at her.
“Jace, how do you like your food?” Eva asked gently from behind.
Jace sopped his water from his water bottle and turned to the side to look at Eva.
“It’s delicious.
Ms.
Eva.
The chef’s really awesome!” Jarc replied excitedly.
Eva smiled and was about to touch the boy’s head, but Ariel drew Jace’s chair closer to her and made him out of reach for Eva, still not looking at her.
Eva sighed.
“I’m sorry, Ariel; I will keep apologizing until you forgive me.
I’ve done it for three years, and I don’t mind doing it forever.
I was wrong in the past, and now, I wish to start a new life, but I vat for that, knowing that the person I hurt, almost killed, hadn’t forgiven me.” Ariel scoffed and stood up, “I’m not responsible for the guilt you feel, Eva.
You brought it upon yourself, I have no business in holding you back from pursuing your future.
Like I’ve said before, I don’t know ow who you are; I have no business with you; please stay away from me and my son.” Ariel stated and carried Jace.
“You’re just apologizing because you didn’t succeed in your evil plans; if you did, you would have been living your best life with him, and I would have been long forgotten…dead.
So, please, stop trying to use me in your emotional way, someone you see as a redemption for your wrong life’s choices.
It’s not me, Eva; I’m not that person to give you that redemption; you messed up.
Seal with it,” She turned and walked away to stare at the water below.
Eva bit his lips and stared at Ariel, a tear slid down her face.
She wasn’t crying because Ariel wouldn’t forgive her, she was crying because she remembered what she and her parents made Ariel pass through.
They had made her suffer, and she almost made the innocent woman lose her life.
Guilt was eating at her.
Actually, she didn’t want to ever leave Ariel’s side; she just came to realize that she was the only real person she knew; not even her parents were real.
She wanted to be by her side, to build the bond they never had.
Her near-death experience made him realize that there was no use for all those struggles and malice.
If she had died three years ago, she wouldn’t have witnessed how beautiful and free life could be; she wanted to be like Ariel, free and happy.
She knew Ariel would forgive her, if not, she wouldn’t have bothered to let her stay with her.
They currently lived in Greece, and Eva had nothing to start with, unlike Ariel, who she surprisingly realized was a software engineer and certified ethical hacker.
She had no certificate, no identification.

Ariel had been adopted by the captain of the ship and continued working online.
It was Ariel who paid for her apartment which was close to hers in Greece.
Ariel had given her many opportunities to leave, but she wasn’t going to, not because she didn’t have any money of her own; she could just keep working as a hostess on Mr.
Sloan’s cruise ship and make decent money.
But she had made up her mind to stay beside Ariel, no matter what, she was going to get her forgiveness.
Every night she slept with a heavy heart, she cried herself to sleep, and she couldn’t believe what she wanted to do to her fellow human, yet, she chose to take pity on her when Mr.
Sloan asked her to leave the ship because she was way healthier than Ariel and wasn’t ready to take extra persons on his ship, it was Ariel who had asked him to hire her as one of his hostess.
Eva felt indebted to Ariel; even in her next life, she wouldn’t ask for any other person than Ariel as her sister.
She stared at Ariel and her child and knew that the boy was Ariel’s life.
He was the reason why Ariel could live again, and she knew that boy was Aiden’s child.
She knew so because the picture of Ariel with another man was fake.
Moon had paid some people to create that picture, and now, she felt her guilt multiply as she felt like the reason why the poor boy was growing up without a father.
“Mummy,” Jace called softly.
“Yes.
Baby,” Ariel answered, holding the rail as she turned to look at Jace.
“If your name is Ariel, does it mean you’re out to search for your human prince?
Do you miss under the sea?” Jace asked as he stared into the ocean.
Ariel paused for a second before she started laughing.
Her son thought that she was the character from “The Little Mermaid” “I already found my prince, baby,” She kissed his cheek, ruffling his brown hair.
“Really?
Where is he?
I’d like to meet him too,” Jace excitedly swayed in Ariel’s arms.
Ariel chuckled, “You already met him…it’s you, Jace, you’re my prince,” She kissed his cheek, smiling at him.
Jace looked so amazed by the answer, he looked so happy with it, “So, does it mean you’ll stay with me forever?
You’re not going back to the sea?” He placed his little hands on her cheeks, staring into her eyes.
Ariel was smiling widely, “No, sunshine, I’m never leaving you; I’ll always be you, just like Ariel lived happily after with her prince; I’d live happily ever after with you, too,” She promised.
Eva was behind them, smiling like a fool.
She was happy for them, she was glad that Ariel had someone to take her mind off what she’d been through.
She wished she had someone too, but she didn’t, and she would live with that.
“Eva, come!
Look!
Dolphins!” Jace excitedly waved Eva over, pointing g at the sea.
Eva slowly walked over, standing apart from them, and stared down at the dolphins diving out of the water and making dolphin sounds.
“They’re beautiful, Jace,” Eva commented with a little smile.
Hace giggled, his eyes glued to the dolphins, clapping his hands each time they surfaced through the water.
Eva had her eyes locked on Ariel.
Moments like this made her believe that Ariel still considered her as family, whenever Jace asked her to join them for something, Ariel never asked her to leave.
She just remained silent and let her participate for as long as the boy wanted her to.
*** “I’m sorry, Ms.
You can’t go in there; he’s busy at the moment,” A man in a black suit and shades stood in front of a door and stopped the woman who was marching toward the office as if she owned it.
The woman stood in front of Daniel with a scowl and put her hand on her waist, “You’d do well to get off my way, Daniel,” She warned.
“Seems you need a constant reminder of who I am, or you’re just too dumb to remember?” She sneered.
Daniel sighed, “Please, just go, I was instructed not to let anyone enter the office unless he permits it,” He stood his ground, professionally turning the wowomanown.
“You piece of shit, get out-” “What’s going on here, Moon?” Aiden suddenly pulled open the door and walked out of his office.
Moon Immediately fixed her expression.
“Oh, nothing, darling-” “It’s Aiden to you, Moon.
Always will be.
What are you doing here?” His face was so cold and detached.
He was now a bitter man, and it was safe to say that he now hated every woman, even his grandmother; he no longer cared who you were; as long as you were a woman, you were already an enemy.
Moon’s face fell as she stole a glance at the bodyguard beside the door, hoping he hadn’t heard the way Aiden was speaking to her.
“Oh, of course, I’m sorry.
It’s just it’s time for the monthly reunion; you know Grandma made it mandatory for everyone to be present, and she asked us to make sure we act like a loving parent in front of Candy; you don’t want to have your baby girl the wrong impression, would you?” She asked in a soft manipulating voice.
Aiden sighed; he was frustrated as the day went by.
He wasn’t dumb; the moment the child was born, he had confused a DNA test, and only when the result came out positive did he start to take the child as his own.
But even at that, he still never brought him to love that child as he should.
He knew she shouldn’t have happened, he didn’t hate babies or anything, but the way Candy was born wasn’t a memory he was happy about.
Each time he saw the innocent baby, he was reminded of three years ago, and the incidents that led to her conception.
That wasn’t the only thing that got him angry, the fact that Moon and his Grandma were seriously trying g to get him Married to Moon was making him nauseous.
He officially hated Moon, but she failed to understand that it was just because of the child that she was still able to speak to him.
“Leave, Moon.
I’ve told you before, ask me for whatever the child needs, and I’ll provide them.
There is nothing like a family between you and me.
A family won’t do what you did to me.
Candy shouldn’t have come from both of us, but it’s happened, the child is innocent.
But if you still think I’d marry you, then it’s better you go check your head.
I’ll never marry you.” He finished and walked past her.
Moon huffed, “It’s been three years, Aiden.
Don’t tell me you’re still thinking of that-” “Don’t you fate mention her name, you know what she did!” Aiden snapped and turned to glare at Moon.
Look smiled and walked up to him, holding his arm.
“I’m sorry, I know, I know.
She was such a devil; I tried to warn you, though.
Now look hie you are, but don’t worry, I’m here to make you forget all about her and-” “Get your stupid hands off me.
If you don’t stop pushing it, I’ll be forced to take custody and give you a restraining order.” He scowled and walked away from her.
