Chapter 127: Chapter 127 Chapter 127: Chapter 127 At the event, Aiden sat alone, the hall was busy, and everyone who was somebody was present, trying to curry up to each other.
He was at a wedding, the president’s son’s wedding, but he couldn’t care less.
He was out here because of their business relationship, he knew the guy was petty and might likely withdraw their collaboration if he didn’t show up.
So he did.
He had given Candy to a Nanny who was always beside him each time he was out with her, he didn’t know how to deal with kids, especially Candy.
He’d never really learned how to behave around her, how to address her, and how to act as her father.
He wasn’t supposed to be her father, he was supposed to be her uncle while she would be his nice, so the whole thing got him fucked up.
The annoying part was that her mother still refused to sign the estrangement papers and at least drop her stupid title as his sister, yet she boldly claimed that she was a sister who loved his brother and changing her status wasn’t important since it would change the moment he got married.
Aiden sighed, feeling tired just sitting down.
These days, just thinking about his predicament leaves him feeling sick and exhausted.
As he states at the happy gathering, he wishes to be alone more, and as he stares at the married couple, he feels pity for the groom; that woman had probably married him because of his status as the president’s son; she was probably cheating on him with someone she claims to love.
It left him wondering how women function; he would never be able to have sex with someone he didn’t love; it wouldn’t just work even if he tried.
But women did it so effortlessly, they’d make you feel as if you’re the ‘one’ for them, make you feel loved, cherished, even worshipped, but deep down, they’re just moving you and extorting you.
Aiden let his mind go to Ariel; the thought of her alone always made him lose his appetite for the next two weeks; he hated her so much that he wished he had never agreed to marry her in the first place; now he was living with this permanent scars ins his heart.
He was angry bevies he’d tried to heal; he didn’t want to let a bitch affect his life, he’d tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, but he must keep remembering her and becoming more miserable.
He gave her with his all, everything, but she still ended up proving to him that he made a mistake by trusting her; he was a fool to have fallen in love with her, and he wasn’t going to make that mistake twice falling for another woman, not even under gunpoint.
“Sir, that lady over there says she’s the daughter of the Chancellor and wants to speak with you,” One of his bodyguards walked up beside him.
He now had many bodyguards, especially when he was out, he didn’t want to give the female gender any opportunity to think they could walk up to him and talk to him.
“Tell her to send an email to the company,” Aiden instructed without even staring at the woman in question.
“Um, boss, I don’t think she’s interested in business, she stated that she wants to ask you out for dinner, she said-” “You know what to tell her, Bison,” Aiden cut him off, looking bored as ever.
Bison bowed and walked away.
Aiden always made sure he had his bodyguards securing the area where he was sitting because he didn’t want to get into scandal like he did when he pushed a female celebrity down.
She had been trying to get suggestive with him, so he made her understand that he was clearly not interested.
He looked ahead and saw Ken walking over with Candy beside him, he frowned, wondering where the Nanny had gone.
“Daddy,” Candy called sleepily, standing in front of Aiden.
“She wants to go home,” Ken informed.
Aiden nodded, “Bring her to the car,” He replied and stood from the chair,.walking past them to the exit.
Candy was staring at him as he walked past her, she wished her father could be a little more loving toward her, she had seen other fathers lifting and kissing their children, but Aiden had never picked her, the closest thing he had done was holding her hand, and she wished he could do more.
“Come on, Pumpkin, let’s go,” Ken said and carried the toddler in his arms and walked out of the hall.
“Um, excuse me,” Someone met Ken in front of the building.

“Yes?” He turned to see a guy standing beside him in a grey suit.
“Hi, sorry to disturb you, but are Mr.
Kenneth?” The guy asked.
Ken nodded, “Yes, how may I help you?” He questioned, holding Candy gently in his arms.
“My name is Gideon.
You probably won’t know me, but we’ve interacted through emails; I’m the manager of ‘Jace Tech’, the company you reached out to; I never knew I met you here; it’s nice meeting you,” Gideon introduced.
Ken raised a brow in realization.
“Ah, yes, I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you; I haven’t really searched for your picture; it’s nice meeting you, too; looking forward to our official meeting,” Ken stretched his hand to him.
Gideon nodded and shook his hand.
“Um, about the meeting, I’ve spoken, did your boss really ask to meet-” Ken chucked, causing Gideon to pause, “Yes, he did, trust me, my boss wouldn’t have it any other way if doesn’t see your boss, so, I hope you’re able to convince your boss about this meeting, if it’s important to him, he would come, right?” Ken asked.
Gideon wanted to correct Ken on the pronouns he used for his boss, but he just let it slide; she was anonymous after all, “Yes, I guess so; I’ll try my best.
Have a good night, Mr.
Kenneth,” He smiled at Ken.
Ken nodded, “You too,” He returned the smile and carried Candy away.
However, Ken paused and turned to Gideon when he heard him answering a call, “Hello, Jessica, I know, I know, I’m sorry, I’ll send it right away, you k wo maybe you should just come over here and do it yourself.
No, no, I’m sorry, il se d it right away,” Gideon sighed and walked into the building.
“Sir, the boss is waiting for his daughter in the car,” Bison quietly informed Ken who was looking lost.
“Oh, right, thank you, Bison,” He replied and walked over to Aiden’s car.
He must be delusional.
Anyone could be Jessica, it mustn’t be his Jessica.
His Jessica?
How could he think that the person Gideon was speaking to was Jessica?
It could have just been anyone, maybe even an old lady, and here he was feeling jealous that Jessica was speaking to some other man as if he had the right to be jealous.
Ken was losing it, it’s been three years, and he hadn’t stopped hoping to meet her one day, he knew their relationship wasn’t the best, it couldn’t even be called a relationship, it wasn’t even over a week, and within the short period, he’d been an ass to her, so what made him think that even if Jess should appear in front of him at the moment that she would want to have anything to do with him.
Her last words to him made him understand that he meant nothing to her; the empty look she gave him before she walked out of his life always shattered his heart each time he remembered it.
He deserved it, he couldn’t believe he’d been that mean to the one girl who truly loved him.
He missed her, and if he should ever find her, he’d do whatever it took to get her to love him again.
He wanted his Jessica back; no woman ever looked at him the way she did.
He’d been a fool, a big fool, and now, his chances at true love might just be forever gone.
“Goodnight,” Ken said to Aiden as he shut the back door where Candy was sitting.
He stood aside and watched the car drive out.
He sighed.
Everything and everyone wasn’t the same anymore.
It seemed as if Ariel and Jess went away with their souls, leaving behind an empty body that was just there to witness the pain and agony that was left behind in their wake.
“Hi, handsome,” A woman came and stood in front of Ken.
Ken blinked and stared down at the blonde-haired lady smiling up at him with her dull-like blue eyes.
“Hi, Rachel,” He managed to smile.
“Going home?” Rachel asked, eyeing Ken from hair to toe, deliberately paying at his crotch and biting her lips.
Ken chuckled, “Yes, Rachel, I’m going home, alone, as always,” He replied and moved back from her.
Rachel shrugged, “Suit yourself, Ken, I’m always available for a good fuck, whenever you change your mind,” She walked up to him and ran her perfectly manicured fingers over his arm.
“I won’t, Rachel.
I’ve told you before, I already have a girlfriend,” Ken removed his hand from her.
“It’s been two years, Ken; I’ve never seen you with any woman; are you just avoiding me?” She asked with a pout.
Ken shook his head, “No, it’s a long-distance relationship.
She’s working abroad, and we understand that we’re both busy, but that doesn’t stop our love and commitment.” “Hmm, how about we just fuck, she won’t know,” Rachel suggested.
“No, Rachel, go home, meditate, work, sleep, you’ll feel better, don’t make yourself a prey to nen, have a good night,” He kissed the back of her hand and walked away, entered his car, and drove off, straight to his house where he kept tormenting himself with thoughts of Jess.
