Chapter 135: Chapter 135 Chapter 135: Chapter 135 Their car slowly came to a stop in front of a club, hefty men were standing in front of the building, looking at the car through their dark glasses.
“You’re sure this is the right place, princess?
It looks like we’re stepping into a Mafia’s territory,” Logan said to Ariel as she was about to open the door.
Ariel chuckled, “Don’t worry, you’ll love any Grandpa, come on,” She smiled at him.
She helped Jace out of the car and carried him toward the entrance.
Logan was quietly following her behind, hoping she was really at the right place as she said; those men didn’t look like people who would understand an explanation.
“Hi, my name is,” “We know who you are, Ms.
Dew; please go in,” one of the men said, and the others stepped out of the door.
Logan was speechless as he stared at the men making way for Ariel.
“Thank you,” Ariel smiled at them and turned to Logan, “Come on,” She nodded at him.
Logan nodded and followed Ariel inside the club.
“Your Grandpa must be one stylish man; his taste is quite exquisite,” Logan commented as he stared around the club.
“He is,” Ariel chuckled, leading them up the stairs that led to Mr.
Dee’s office.
She reached his door and knocked quietly but she didn’t get any response.
“Maybe your Grandpa is sleeping?” Jace whispered to Ariel.
She laughed softly and shook his head, “He’s probably busy working; let’s try again; how about you knock?” She moved closer to the door so his hand could reach the door.
Jace raised his little hand and knocked gently on the door and immediately, the sound of the door being unlocked from inside was heard.
“He heard mine, Mummy,” Jace announced excitedly.
Ariel was smiling, waiting for the door to open to see the reaction on her Grandpa’s face.
The door slowly opened and Mr.
Dee peeped out of the door, “Who’s is…Ariel?” He called in shock, immediately pushing the door wide open.
“Yes, Grandpa, it’s me,” She smiled, tears welling in her eyes.
Mr.
Dee stepped out of his office, staring at Ariek as if he’d seen a ghost, “Oh, my poor child, you’re alive…” He raised his hand to her face, touching her cheek.
Ariel nodded, sniffling.
“And…this is my great-grandson?” His voice was still low as if he’d scare them all away if he raised his voice in excitement.
Ariel nodded, not trusting her voice to speak.
“Oh my God…” He moved and engulfed both Ariel and her son in a tight hug, laughing happily as he did.
“Oh, my poor girl, I thought I’d lost you; I thought…oh dear, what happened?

Where did you go?
Who’s baby is it?” Mr.
Dee questioned as he slowly stepped away from them.
“Mummy, do I get to have two Grandpa’s?” Jace asked, staring at the old man.
“Yes, baby.
Grandpa, this is my friend, Logan,” She stepped aside and let him see Logan who was standing beside the wall, giving them their space.
“Ahh, hello, young man, are you her son’s father?” Mr.
Dee asked as he offered him a handshake.
Logan laughed as shook the old man, sending Ariel a mischievous look, “Not yet, Gramps, but I hope it’s soon,” “Ohh, why wasting time, girlie, this is a good one, unlike-” “Grandpa, let’s go in; I’ll tell you all about me later,” Ariel interrupted him by exposing what she’d kept hidden for three years.
“Hmm, she’s avoiding it, but I’ll let it slide for now,” He walked back to Ariel and carried Jace from her.
“Come, my boy, I’ll treat you to something fun; tell me all about your favorite food,” He said to Jace and started walking down the stairs.
Ariel smiled as he watched them go, “We better follow them,” Logan went and put an arm around Ariel’s waist.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to ask what Gramps was about to say,” He kissed her cheek before moving forward.
Ariel sighed.
The drama just kept getting more intense.
She would have to tell Logan about Aiden since Aiden would be around her for some time due to their business relationship; she wouldn’t want Logan to assume things on his own.
She walked down the stairs and followed them out of the club.
That afternoon, Mr.
Dee took them to a restaurant, and they had lunch as they chatted about everything, laughing and eating.
After eating, Logan drove Mr.
Dee back to his club.
“We still need to talk, Ariel.
You have no idea how devastating it was searching the whole country for you and always ending up with nothing; I thought I’d failed once again, just like I failed with my wife and your mother…” Mr.
Dee looked at Ariel with worried eyes.
They were standing in front of his club, facing each other.
Ariel sighed, “I know, Grandpa, don’t worry, you’ve not lost me.
I’ll tell you everything soon, but just to make it clear, I and Aiden are no longer-” “I’d be disappointed if you were, that moron got his sister pregnant,” His voice sounded angry.
Ariel hugged him, “Don’t worry, everything is going to be okay now,” She kissed his cheek and stepped back from him.
“See you soon,” She waved at him.
Mr.
Dee nodded, “See you soon, child,” He waved at her.
He watched her get into the car and stood there till the car went out of sight.
Jace was sleeping beside Ariel as the car drove off; he was tired from chatting and playing with his great-grandpa.
“He loves you a lot,” Logan said in the quiet car.
Ariel sighed, “He does.
He’s the only family I have here,” She replied.
Logan nodded, “What I said to Gramps earlier…I meant it,” His voice was quiet.
Ariel looked confused, “What did you say to him?” She scratched the back of her ear, trying to remember what he was talking about.
Logan briefly glanced at her before he focused on the road.
“About Jace, I don’t mind becoming his father, Ariel, I mean it, I don’t mind at all,” He said.
Ariel rubbed her hand over her face; she knew this would happen; it was impossible to keep a man who had feelings for you besides you and expect him not to act that way.
She wanted anger; she had already made up her mind to deal with it when it came up.
“I appreciate your honesty, Logan.
How about you just give me some time to really figure out myself first, and also, when I’ve told you about my past, you can decide if you still want to be in a relationship with me or not, okay?” She asked in a soothing voice.
Logan nodded, “Fair enough, but you don’t have to worry about your past; I don’t give a…” He glanced back to make sure Jace was still sleeping, “I don’t give a fuck about your past…there’s a reason it’s called past, literally.” He replied.
Ariel chuckled, “Alright, handsome.
I hear you, loud and clear,” He parked the car in front of her apartment and hurried to open the door for her.
“Thank you,” She smiled at him as she carried Jace out of the car.
“Don’t worry, I got it,” Jace held her waist as she was about to lean into the car to get her handbag.
“Thanks,” Ariel appreciated.
Logan walked them up to their doorstep and helped her unlock the door.
Just like the previous night, he followed her up to Jace’s room and patiently waited for her as she changed the boy into comfortable clothing before he walked out of the room.
They reached the living room and Logan paused, “I guess I’ll leave now,” He said.
Ariel slowly nodded, “Thanks once again, Logan, I wouldn’t have navigated the whole day without you, I really appreciate your help,” She said and gave him a short hug, slowly stepping back.
Logan chuckled, “That was the shortest hug you’ve given me, why are you scared of me now?” He teased.
Ariel rolled her eyes at him, “Scared my ass.
I don’t just want to make you uncomfortable,” She shrugged.
Logan looked around her with gentle eyes, “Your hugs make me anything but uncomfortable, Ariel,” He smiled.
Ariel returned his smile, “Alright, lover boy, time to go home,” She went behind him and started pushing him in the direction of the door.
“What are you doing tomorrow?” Logan faced her as he walked out of the door.
Ariel pouted her lips before she spoke, “Justvtaling Jace to a farm, he wants to see the animals,” She informed him.
“Am I allowed to come?” Logan asked cautiously.
Ariel sighed, how could she say no?
He was such a gentleman.
She just had to make sure they stayed far away from Aiden.
It wasn’t time for them to know each other yet.
“Sure, you’re the boyfriend, remember?” She winked at him.
Logan chuckled, “If you keep saying it I might have to assume the proper role…goodnight, princess,” He waved at her before he turned and walked toward the elevator.
“Tomorrow is surely going to be more dramatic than today,” She shook her head before she shut her door.
