Chapter 136: Chapter 136 Chapter 136: Chapter 136 “Boss, tell me, do you know Mr.
Chaz by any chance, you two seemed so…” “So what, Gideon?
Say it,” Ariel challenged with a raised brow as they walked out of the apartment.
Gideon chuckled nervously and shook his head.
“Nothing, I was just being curious…” He muttered.
Ariel shook her head at him.
He had been the one who woke her from her beauty sleep that morning just so they could go early to the farm.
Now, Gudeon was carrying Jace as they walked out to where Logan was waiting with the car.
“Good morning, Logan!
We’re going to the farm!” Jace excitedly announced as they walked toward the car.
Logan looked stunning that morning; his blue jeans and white shirt gave him a laid-back look, and his blonde hair made him very alluring.
Ariel stared at him with an admiring look as he walked toward Gideon and carried Jace from him.
He made a joke, and Jace burst out laughing, falling back in his arms.
She couldn’t stop herself from smiling; Jace was really comfortable with Logan; no wonder people mistook him for his real father.
“Hey,” She waved playfully at Logan as she stood beside him.
Logan looked away from Jace and stared at Ariel, his eyes involuntarily traveling down to her exposed legs.
She had brown shorts on, a Paris of sneakers, and a loose-fitted black top, her hair in a low ponytail, and her face bare.
She looked stunning.
“Your Mummy looks so beautiful, you know that right?” He asked Jace while keeping his eyes on Ariel.
“Yes, the most beautiful Mummy in the whole world,” Jace smiled at his mother.
Ariel blushed, “Why, thank you, sweetheart,” She pinched Jace’s cheeks.
“You’re not bad yourself,” She winked at Logan and went to the car.
“Come on, I’ll drive,” She announced and let herself in the driver’s side.
Logan let her; he let Jace sit with Gideon while sitting beside her in the front.
“And…here’s the address,” Gideon gave Logan his phone.
“Thanks, Gideon,” Ariel said, driving the car away.
After half an hour of driving, she followed the GPS and drove into a narrow tarred path that led to a brown gate.
She beeped her horn, and a man dressed like a cowboy came to open the gates for them.
As she drove in, she realized that the farm was very large and they weren’t the only visitors there.
It almost looked like a zoo.

A lot of cars were parked around as people walked about with their families, searching for their next interest.
Aruel pulled the car over under a huge tree, “We’re here, boys,” She announced, turning back to look at Jace, who was all smiles as he stared out of the window, looking at the lively environment.
“Let’s go,” Jace tugged on Gideon’s arm.
“Okay, okay, let’s, buddy,” He chuckled and carried him out of the car.
Ariel and Logan stepped out of the car, walking over to Gideon.
“Mummy, look, that’s a barn.
Let’s go see some horses!” Jace reached out for her and she immediately carried him.
Ariel looked toward the place Jace had pointed and felt her stomach churn.
It was the same place, the same farm Aiden had kept Abbey that night, and he had told her that it was his farm.
How could not have known?
She should have guessed that this was the place Ken was talking about the whole time yesterday and should have found a way to reject their offer.
She didn’t want anything that would bring back memories to her; she wanted to avoid everything they had ever done together; she thought time healed, but why was she still feeling the hurt in her heart so much?
She sighed and smiled at Jace, “How about we go see where everyone’s heading to, baby?” She said.
Gideon came and stood in front of Ariel, “Um, if it helps, Ken did give me a direction.
Over that field, there’s a racing Arena, Jace would love it,” He informed, pointing behind them.
Ariel looked ahead, and indeed, she saw a hilly field; the sun was casting down on it, making the grasses glow in their deep green color.
“Come on, my lady,” Logan paced a gentle hand on Ariel’s waist.
Ariel nodded, “Let’s go, baby,” She whispered to Jace.
They started walking toward the field and Jace suddenly called to Ariel.
“Mummy,” Jace called softly.
“Yes, love?” She answered.
“Can I walk on my own?” He asked cautiously, looking into his mother’s eyes.
Ariel chuckled, “Sure, but promise to stay close, okay?” She asked.
Jace nodded, “I promise,” He nodded.
She gently lowered him to the ground.
“Don’t worry, I’ll w watch him,” Gideon said and followed Jace, who started to spring down the field.
“He’ll be fine,” Loagn said beside her.
Ariel nodded, “I know,” They started descending the hilly field, and they noticed that some men were already sitting on top of the horses, getting ready to race; the crowd watching in the arena was cheering on with excitement.
She saw Jace run toward someone walking out of the arena and realized it was Ken.
He picked the boy up and threw him up and down in the air.
Jace’s laughter filled the air, warming Ariel’s heart and putting a smile on her face.
They walked over to Ken and Ariel greeted him, “Hello, Mr.
Ken,” Ken held Jace now, he looked at Ariel and couldn’t help his eyes from moving to the slide guy beside her.
“Uh, hi, Ms.
Ariel, welcome to Mr.
Aiden’s farm, feel free to enjoy the show with-” “My boyfriend.
Logan, my boyfriend; baby, meet one of my business partners, Mr.
Kenneth,” She introduced.
Ken looked as if he had forgotten how to breathe for a few seconds as he stared at Logan’s face.
Logan saw that as his cue to act the part so he stepped close to Ariel and subtly drew her closer by her waist, standing protectively beside her.
“Hi, Mr.
Ken, nice to meet you,” Logan offered Ken a handshake; he didn’t miss the reluctance in Ken’s movement.
He guessed this was one of the people Ariel had asked her to fake with; he was the first person she was introducing him to as his boyfriend.
“Um, nice to meet you, Logan; please call me Ken; everyone does,” He glanced at Ariel as he replied.
Logan nodded, bringing his hand because to himself.
“Aiden!” Jace startled Gideon, who was quietly standing beside them like a wallflower.
“Goodness,” Gideon put a hand on his chest and turned his head backward with the others to see the person Jace was so excited to see.
Aiden stood behind them, looking like someone had just wronged him a minute ago.
He had arrived just in time to hear Ariel’s introduction, and he couldn’t explain the sudden aggression he was feeling, aggression toward the ugly-looking Logan.
His anger was simmering just below the surface, but he would ignore them because it was no longer his business, like he decided yesterday.
She just had to sign the papers, and that was it; they’d be officially over.
Ariel moved closer to Logan the moment she heard her son call out to Aiden, she didn’t want to give him any opportunity to get close to her that day.
She saw Aiden ignore her and Logan and walked straight to Ken, taking Jace from him as if he didn’t even want Ken holding Jace.
“Good morning.
Mr.
Chaz,” Gideon greeted and was successfully ignored.
“How are you, little man?” Aiden asked Jace, looking at the boy’s beautiful face.
“I’m fine, Aiden; Mummy said it’ll be fun here; do I really get to ride a horse?” Jace questioned, looking from Aiden to Ariel.
“Yes, she was right; look,” Aiden pointed into the Arena, “The race is about to start, and after they’re done, I’ll take you to ride a horse, yeah?” He said to Jace.
Jace nodded.
Aiden smiled at the boy and carried him toward the arena.
“Well, let’s follow them,” Gideon suggested and followed them.
“You alright, Princess?” Logan lowered his face to ask Ariel, who had gone completely still in his arms.
Ariel blinked and slowly nodded, “Yeah, I just need to use the bathroom real quick,” She stepped back from him.
“Want me to walk you?” Logan looked concerned.
Ariel managed a smile and shook her head, “I’ll just ask one of these people wearing a uniform; they’re probably staff,” She pointed to a group of young men wearing a uniform of white shirts and khaki pants.
Logan sighed and nodded.
“I’ll wait for you over there, okay?” He gently touched her cheek and pointed to the entrance of the arena.
Ariel smiled and nodded, “Okay,” She replied and walked away from him.
Logan sighed, he knew.
He knew whoever that man was, Mr.
Chaz, was the reason Ariel had asked him to be her fake boyfriend.
The way her body had instantly gone still beside him told him and the way Aiden stared at him made him understand that something heavy was still hanging in the air between them.
He didn’t care.
Whatever it was, emphasis on the word “was” was the past, and like he’d told her, it was called a past for a reason.
It was literally…past.
