Chapter 137: Chapter 137 Chapter 137: Chapter 137 Ariel was in the female restroom, just standing in front of the mirror and looking at her face.
She stared hard at her face until she suddenly became very angry.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” She asked herself I’m the mirror.
“You’re not supposed to care, you’re not supposed to give a shit, he fucking cheated on you!
But look at you, letting your heart beat like a loser.
Get a hold of yourself,” She muttered angrily.
Aiden was dead to her, and she was going to act like that.
Business only.
She was only here for three months and she could go back to her free lifestyle where she could choose to travel with Mr.
Sloan or stay home and work.
She didn’t want this kind of rollercoaster of a lifestyle anymore, and anything related to Aiden was a rollercoaster.
She lowered her face to the sink and turned on the tap, splashing water on her face to calm herself down.
Who does he think is affecting her mood the moment he walks in, and he hasn’t even spoken to her?
She was still washing her face in the sink when she heard someone walk in; it was her cue to leave.
She quickly turned off the tap and turned to leave.
However, her heart, which she had just spoken to, betrayed her and almost jumped out of her chest when she saw the man standing before her, she instinctively pressed her back against the sink and gripped the edge tightly with her fingers.
“Hi, Ms.
Dew, or is it…Ms.
Sloan?” Aiden’s face was unreadable as he slowly started to cover the space between them.
Ariel panicked.
“Stop this, Mr.
Chaz, I can’t have my image tarnished because of your careless actions,” She tried to sound brave and unaffected.
Aiden didn’t respond, he simply paused in front of her and placed one of his hands beside her, leaning into her as he put his other hand in his pocket and took out a small towel.
“It won’t kill you to accept kindness for once,” He raised his hand to her face and gently started to pat it, wiping the water off her face.
Ariel was speechless; she found herself unable to look away from his magnetic blue eyes.
She knew she should push him away, but she was suddenly unable to move her limbs as he got her under a spell.
Aiden smirked, “You’re still so beautiful, Ariel…” He moved the hand that was resting on the sink to Ariel’s waist, his face inching closer to hers.
He had planned to come in here and ask her for a divorce, however, being alone with her and looking at those green eyes again made him forget his purpose for a while.
He put his face beside her and whispered, “But it’s a shame your beauty only ended outside.
Tell me, who’s this Sloan you’re leaching off this time?” He questioned darkly.

Ariel immediately found her senses back the moment she heard his question.
Once a jerk, always a jerk.
She sighed and removed Aiden’s hand that was wiping her face, “Move away from me, Mr.
Chaz; I can charge you for invasion of privacy, please, just go,” She released his hand and was about to push him away when he caught her wrist and held it between them.
“Charge me?
Go ahead, you forget so early too, I own this state, good luck suing me, dear wife-” “I’m not your wife,” Ariel blurted out.
“I’m not your wife, Aiden, I was never,” She said, looking right into his eyes.
Aiden’s eyes darkened, it was one thing to cheat on him and run away with her lover, but it was totally a whole different story to say to his face that she was never his wife.
Was that how ruthless she was?
Disregarding all the time and memories they shared, acting as if he was dead to her.
“Then it’d be easy for us; tomorrow, we’ll be meeting the client; after the meeting, you’ll sign the divorce papers, the one I should have made you sign before you even thought of cheating on me,” Aiden growled lowly, his features hardening.
Ariel felt hurt; he really believed that she cheated on him; well, it is what it is.
If he hadn’t done that with Moon, then she would have found it necessary to explain everything to him, but it was pointless now; he cheated.
“I’d gladly sign it,” She replied and pushed him forcefully away from her.
Aiden wasn’t expecting that push; his back collided with the wall behind him, “Until then, stay the fuck away from me, Mr.
Chaz; it’s a fair warning,” She glared at him before walking out of the restroom.
Outside, she could hear cheers from the people sitting around the arena watching the race, she walked over to Logan and touched his back.
Logan turned to see who had touched him, “Ah, you feeling better, princess?
I was thinking about coming to get you,” He joked.
Ariel smiled, “Come on, let’s go,” She hooked her arm with his just in case someone was watching from behind.
“This way, Princess,” Logan led her toward the path that led to the sitting area.
They climbed four stairs and started walking toward Jace, who was sitting between Ken and Gideon.
“You can sit first,” Logan pointed to the space beside Ken to her.
She nodded and lowered herself on the chair.
Logan sat beside her, watching her face for a second, he didn’t want to say anything, but he knew that something was bothering Ariel.
He believed she would tell him when she was ready.
“Mummy, the horses are so fast!” Jace looked sideways when he and his mother sat down, excitedly pointing to the racing horses.
Ariel nodded, “Yes, baby, they’re really so fast,” She chuckled.
Jace smiled and went back to watching the horses.
“Did you have a nice talk?” Ken whispered to Ariel, leaning sideways so no one else could hear.
Ariel frowned and turned to him and was met with Ken’s smiling mischievous face.
“Stop it,” She said and went back to watching the horses.
Ken smirked and remained quiet, he knew something spicy was about to happen between those two stubborn couple.
He knew they still had feelings for each other; if not, they wouldn’t be so unconsciously aware of each other’s presence.
A man’s voice boomed from the speakers as he announced the winner of the race; people cheered, clapping and standing.
“Yay!
My favorite horse won!
Mummy, look, it won,” Jace jumped up from his chair and ran toward Ariel.
Ariel carried him as she stood from her chair.
“You’re excited, aren’t you?” She asked him.
“Yes, where is Aiden?
He promised to teach me how to ride,” Jace started looking around the place, his face suddenly looking like he wanted to cry.
Ariel sighed in frustration, “Baby, how about Mr.
Ken teach-” “Oh, no, o don’t know how to climb a horse, wrong person, wrong person,” Ken shook his head and raised his hands beside his head.
“Maybe, Gudeon can?” He looked toward Gideon.
Gideon laughed nervously, “Y’all aping believe it, but I have a phobia for the horse, I’d shut myself getting close to those monsters,” He confessed.
Ken held back his laughter and looked at Ariel, “Oops, guess we’ll have to look for Mr.
Chaz to do as he promised,” He gave her a knowing smile.
Jace went quiet; he locked his eyes with Ariel’s, and his lips suddenly started to wobble, his eyes becoming misty with tears.
Ariel frantically searched around the arena for Aiden, but people were starting to leave, making everywhere crowded and hard to spot anyone particularly.
“I’ll teach you, buddy,” Logan stepped forward and used his thumb to wipe the single tear that wanted to fall from the side of Jace’s eye.
Ariel narrowed her eyes at him, “You can?” She asked, hoping he wasn’t just saying it to make Jace feel better for the time being, it would be much worse if Jace found out that he’d been fooled.
“I can, princess; come on, buddy, let’s go get you on a horse,” He put his hands in front of Jace, and reluctantly leaned into them.
Ken saw that someone was willing to do it and sighed; he had wanted it to be Aiden.
“Fine, there’s an exclusive exit behind; come on, guys,” He announced and motioned for Logan to walk out so they could too.
“This way,” They left the sitting area and Ken led them away from the crowd, toward a small wooden door.
They walked through a shirt passage and came out to the same field they had walked through while coming.
Ken led them back to the barn and Ariek couldn’t help remembering that night Aiden had brought her here.
Time does move fast, and a lot of changes come along with that motion.
“Where are the horses, Ken?” Jace asked, still looking around in search of Aiden.
“Right in here, Mr.
Jace,” Ken replied and pushed open one part of the barn door.
“Woah!” Jace exclaimed in awe when he saw the heads of horses sticking out from their stables.
“Mymmy, that white one is so pretty,” Jace commented.
Logan chuckled, “Then let’s get that for you, buddy,” “I’ll take him myself,” Aiden’s voice boomed from behind them.
