Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Ariel felt awkward, she hated the way Aiden had made everyone uncomfortable…except Jace, of course.
He had just waltzed in and carried the excited boy away from Logan as if he had the right to.
That was another thing she would need to speak to him about; he had to stop acting like he was the one who owned the child, well…he was, but he didn’t know that, so he needed to stop acting like he knew that.
They were currently standing behind a small fence, watching Aiden sitting behind Jace on a horse.
He made the boy hold the reigns and covered Jace’s hands with his, gently making the horse gallop around the practice area.
They got closer to where Ariel stood, and Jace smiled widely, “Mummy, I’m riding a horse,” He whispered as if speaking loudly would scare the horse.
Ariel laughed, “You’re doing great, baby,” She gave him a thumbs up.
“Aww, they look so cute, boss, almost like a father and-” “Watch your mouth, Gudeon,” Ariel snapped her head at Gideon beside her, eyeing him with narrowed eyes.
Gideon paused, blinking innocently, “I’m sorry, boss,” He leaned closer and whispered to Ariel.
Ariel ignored him and looked back at her son, but she didn’t miss the scrutinizing gaze Ken was giving her.
She sighed, she had to stop all these crazy men from making her stay here difficult.
“Where are you going?” Logan immediately held her hand when he saw her trying to move away from him.
Ariel shook her head, “Nowhere; I just had a business idea I need to let Mr.
Ken know.” She replied.
Logan slowly released her hand, nodding at her, “Okay,” He said quietly.
Ariel felt bad; she saw the look in Logan’s eyes, and he looked hurt.
He must be feeling that she was hiding something from him, which she was.
She just needed time to figure out her life, then she’d tell him everything about her and Aiden.
She walked over to Ken and tapped his shoulder, “Walk with me,” she said and headed back toward the barn.
Ken smirked and followed her, he finally got to have a talk with her.
He met her standing behind the barn and stood in front of her.
“You finally decided to talk to me?” He asked, fixing his hand in his pocket.
Ariel scoffed, “Listen, Ken, I don’t know what your friend is up to, but I need you to warn him to stay away from me, away from my son; I don’t want him meddling in my affairs; it’s annoying,” She folded her arm on her chest.
Ken chuckled, “Firstly, I’ve missed you, Ariel, I’m glad you’re finally speaking to me.
Secondly, can I not be caught in the crossfire between you and Aiden.
Can I just be your frie-” “No, Ken, we can’t be friends, as long as you’re related to that cheater, I can’t…just let him know what I’ve told you, let him stay away from me and my family,” Ariel said, and tried walking away from Ken but her hand was caught, holding her back.
“Let go of my hand, Ken,” She turned to stare at her hand.
Ken sighed, releasing her hand, “Can I ask a question?” He moved closer to her.
Ariel eyes him suspiciously.
“What?” Ken looked at the practice arena then looked back at her, “The child-” “It’s not his.

What?
He can have a child and I can’t?” She asked, raising her brows at him.
Ken chuckled nervously, “Well, no, that’s both what I meant.
I’m just surprised; no one really knows what happened between you two; he’s never said anything to anyone; all we know is that you went missing, and he had a child with Moon.
I thought maybe, you were already with his child before you left,” Ken tried to explain everything he knew to Ariel.
Ariel was quiet, why has Aiden not told anyone about the picture?
Was he protecting her?
Or he was probably feeling guilty because he chested with Moon and didn’t want to be called a hypocrite by telling people she cheated on him, too.
Whatever, she didn’t care to know his reasons; it was none of her business what he decided to do in his life.
She locked her eyes on Ken’s face and gave him a simple and direct reply.
“Jace is not Aiden’s son,” She informed with a straight face and turned away from him, walking back to the practice arena.
Ken released a long sigh.
He no longer knew the fate of Aiden and Ariel, each of them seemed so bitter with the other, and they’ve both had kids from different people, too, which seemed to be a big deal in their relationship.
One thing still left him confused: the way Aiden related to Jace was more fatherly than the way he related to his own offspring.
But Ken had an idea why it might be so.
Auden saw Moon as an enemy and no one would love anything that came from an enemy; meanwhile, he felt more comfortable with Jace because he undoubtedly still had a love for Ariel, no matter how much he claimed to hate her now, so it was only natural that he would feel more connected to the child of the woman he loved.
Ken might not know fully what transpired between them, but for the fact that he had once tried to break their relationship in the past, he would take it upon himself to get them back together.
He already knew that Aiden would never love Moon and neither would he marry her, so he had to make sure that those two stubborn adults get back together.
“Fuck whatever happened in the past, you guys are stuck forever,” He whispered to himself, smiling evilly.
Another challenge he’d face is Logan; he had to find a way to get him out of the picture; he didn’t care if he was really Ariel’s boyfriend or a pretend boyfriend; all he knew was that he had to go, period.
He walked back to the others and saw Aiden walking out of the practice area with Jace in his arms, laughing and saying something to him.
He watched his friend wear a genuine smile for the first time in three years, he wished Aiden could keep that smile forever, and there was only one way to make that happen.
“It was so fun, Mummy, Aiden is so cool,” Jace giggled as Auden came to stand beside Ariel.
Aiden felt flattered by the little boy, for once, he believed he was really cool as the boy had said.
He felt like he wanted to do more cool things to please the boy.
However, he suddenly felt guilty when he remembered Candy.
He had never really done anything with the poor girl, but it was his fault; no matter how hard he tried, his mind always kept reminding him that Moon was the mother, and he never planned to have a child with his sister.
The whole dampened his mood, making his smile fade.
“Alright, champ, it’s time to go home; I believe you must be so tired,” She went to carry him from Aiden, but Jace hugged Aiden’s neck tightly.
Jace shook his head at Ariel, pouting his small lips, “B-but, Mummy, I don’t want to leave Aiden yet, he’s so fun and it’s so boring at home, please, just go with Logan,” He blinked at Logan, making puppy eyes at him to make him side with him.
Logan chuckled and placed a hand on Ariel’s waist, “You really don’t want to come with your mummy?” He asked with a raised brow.
Jace shook his head, “No, Mummy, I don’t want to go home yet,” he replied.
“I’m sorry, honey, but we have to go; Mummy has a lot of work to do; I’ll get you ice cream on the way, how about that?” She moved closer to Auden to speak to her child, ignoring the piercing gaze Aiden was giving her.
Jace shook instead, facing away from his mother.
Ariel clenched her fists; she blamed Mother Nature for this.
There was nothing wrong with what Jace was doing; the poor child was only following his instincts, which told him to get closer to his father.
Ken and Gideon stood aside, observing the whole drama.
“Mr.
Chaz, can you give the child back to his mother, we need to be on our way,” Logan said in a pouted manner.
Auden scoffed, “Do you want to go back with your mummy, little man?” Aiden gently asked the boy in his arms.
Jace vigorously shook his head, “No, I want to stay with you,” He replied.
Aiden smirked at Logan, “The kid wants to stay with me.” He stated and walked away from them.
Ariel wanted to take her chin away from that egotistical man, but she didn’t want to struggle with her child with anyone; it wouldn’t leave a good memory in Jace’s head.
“Don’t worry, he’s just a boy,” Logan patted Ariel’s back soothingly.
“Umm, hey!” Ken called tonAuden who was carrying Jace away.
He knew his friend was crazy, he was actually planning to just waltz away with someone’s child.
He decided to come up with an easy way out for everyone.
Aiden paused and turned to look at Ken.
“How about we all go grab some lunch, that way, Jace gets more time to spend with his new best friend,” He suggested.
Aiden shrugged, “He rides with me, still,” He replied and continued walking away with Jace.
Jace placed his jaw on Aiden’s shoulder, giving his mother a mischievous smile as he was carried away.
