Chapter 141: Chapter 141 Chapter 141: Chapter 141 “Be good and don’t give Grandpa trouble, okay?” Ariel spoke to Jace in front of her apartment.
Logan had driven Mr.
Sloan to her house to take Jace with him for the day while she focused on the business at hand.
“Yes, Mummy,” Jace replied and went over to Mr.
Sloan.
“Don’t worry, Princess, he’s in good hands,” Logan said beside her.
Ariel had been feeling guilty from the moment she saw Loagn, she couldn’t help feeling like she’d cheated on him even though they weren’t in a relationship.
Still, she had made him believe that she didn’t want anything to do with any man but yet she went behind him to sleep with another man, the same man she told Loagn she wanted nothing to do with.
She gave him a quick glance and managed a smile, “Thanks, Logan,” She replied, not looking into his eyes.
Mr.
Sloan carried Jace in his arms and said to Logan, “We better get going, the golf field is quite far,” he informed.
Logan nodded, “I’ll see you soon, princess,” He hugged Ariel and pecked her cheek.
Ariel felt so guilty, she couldn’t even return a proper hug to him.
“Yeah, I’ll see you soon,” she laughed nervously and pulled away from him; she was scared he would see the hickey she was hiding under her shirt.
“Bye, baby,” She waved to Jace as Mr.
Sloan placed him inside the car.
“Bye-bye, Mummy, I love you,” Jace waved his tiny hands.
Ariel smiled, “I love you too, my love,” she waved back at him.
Logan smiled, he felt something off with the way Ariel was relating to him, but he didn’t say anything about it; he knew a lot of things were on Ariel’s plate.
“Bye, Princess,” He said and walked over to the car.
Ariel stepped away from the car as Logan started to slowly drive it away.
She sighed when the car drove away.
“Oh no, I just complicated my already complicated life,” She whispered and wiped her sweaty palms on her back palazzo pants.
She had a black turtle neck on because it was the only shirt that could shirr that would match her pants and still serve the purpose, which was to cover up the heavy hickeys Aiden had left on her neck last night.
She felt her heart fasten just by recalling what happened in her living room.
It had been out of her control, and she also learned that her body had its own mind when it came to Aiden.
It annoyed her that she enjoyed every second of it.
She felt so complete with him; it almost felt like she was ready to forgive him for what he did to her.
The moment she felt his inside her, she realized that her body had been living like it was dead because the moment she felt his body on hers, she felt alive.

Ariel was startled by the honking of a car horn in front of her.
“Ah,” She gasped and blinked her eyes, forcing her mind back to the present.
“Oh, hi, Gideon,” She greeted Gideon who came out of the car to open the back door for her.
“Good morning, Boss, you look beautiful, as always,” He commented as Ariel got inside the car.
Ariel smiled, “Thank you, Gudeon, you’re such an ego booster,” She chuckled.
“That’s why you have me,” He wiggled his brows and gently closed the door.
Ariel smiled, relaxing against the chair and closing her eyes.
As the car moved, she let her mind go back to the embarrassing moment when she had pushed Auden off her and ran up to her room, locking her door.
She had asked him to leave before morning, and she saw the shock and disappointment in his face, but when she came out that morning, Aiden was nowhere to be seen which meant that he did leave as she instructed.
That was a mistake, a mistake she would never allow a repeat of it.
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the familiar company.
“This is it, boss, we’ve arrived,” Gideon announced as he brought the car to a stop in front of Aiden’s company.
He quickly got down and went to open the door for Ariel.
Ariel couldn’t believe her eyes, she never knew the business meeting would be held here, in Aiden’s first company.
This place held so many memories for her.
Was Aiden doing this on purpose?
To hurt her?
“New Tech,” She murmured as she stood in front of the building.
Aiden had changed the name of the company from “Chaz Tech” to “New Tech.” She wondered why he did that.
No wonder she didn’t recognize the company’s name; if it was still bearing the first name, she would never have taken the offer and would never have returned here.
“Boss?” Gideon called when he saw Ariel just in front of the building and not walking toward it.
Ariel shook her head, “Let’s go,” She said to Gideon and started walking into the building.
The moment she got into the reception hall, the receptionist gaped at her as if she was seeing a ghost.
Ariel didn’t look at her; she just kept walking ahead; she wasn’t here to get familiar with old colleagues; she was here for business.
And the fewer people she interacted with.
Gideon frowned as he walked behind Ariel, he hastened his steps and caught up with her as she moved towards the elevator.
“Um, boss, shouldn’t we ask the cute receptionist over there for directions, I mean, this is quite a huge building, and we don’t know the floor or the room or even the people we are supposed to be looking for, maybe you can wait here while I go ask the reception-” “Get in, Gideon,” Ariel ordered as she opened the elevator.
“Oh, um, yes, boss,” Gideon replied and unwillingly entered the elevator.
Ariel walked in after him and punched in a number as the door slid shut.
“Right, we’ll just ride to all the floors until we find the right one; I mean, that’s okay; we get to explore our business partner’s company too; it’s win-win,” Gideon muttered at the corner.
Ariel laughed quietly, “Don’t worry, Gideon, you’ll be fine,” She smiled at him.
Soon, the elevator opened, and Ariel once again walked into the familiar office space.
“Come on,” She said to Fideonbefre, walking out of the elevator.
Gideon had no choice but to follow her into the quiet office space.
He thought no one was there, but when he looked into the transparent offices, he saw people quietly minding their business as they worked.
Ariel was heading toward Adien’s office, her heart thudding with every step she took; she couldn’t believe she was back here, this place where she and Aiden had also formed a lot of memories.
Unfortunately, she now knew those were all lies.
“Boss, you know what you’re doing, either?” Gudeon whispered behind her.
Ariel ignored him and was about to knock on the door when a surprised voice behind made her pause her hand.
“Ariel?!
No way!” A man’s voice called with utter disbelief.
Ariel turned and looked at the person.
“Hello, Jewel,” She smiled.
“What?!
Oh my God!” Jewel pushed Gideon out of the way and threw himself at Ariel, hugging her tightly.
Ariel was smiling widely; Jewel was one of the people she couldn’t ignore or cut off.
The guy did nothing to her and was a very good friend, too; he was the person who made her feel comfortable during her first week here.
“Hi, Jewel, how have you been?” Ariek asked, gently pulling the clingy guy away from her.
“Who the fuck is this?” Gideon asked, annoyed by Jewel’s attitude toward him.
Jewel only spared him a short look and turned back to Ariel.
“Oh, girl, you have a lot to tell me!
What happened?
Why did you suddenly leave?
Wait!
It’s because of that bitch right?
Jess was right, Moon was an evil bitch, she dared to-” “Hold on, hold on,” Ariel raised her in front of Jewel, stopping him from spilling everything he knew about her to Gideon.
Gideon scoffed.
“Okay, okay, but we have to hang out and talk; I mean, talk a lot, you understand, right?” He questioned, pointing at Ariel.
“I’m sorry, she is quite busy with more reasonable and important things to have time to wake with you,” Gideon stepped forward and informed Jewel.
He hated Jewel already; how dare he shove him aside?
6hat was just impolite.
Jewel slowly turned and eyed Gideon up and down, “And, who are you?” He raised a brow at Gideon.
Ariro sighed, “Guys, just stop.
Jewel, where is your boss?
Is he already in the meeting room?” She questioned, dragging Jewel toward the passage that led to the meeting room.
“Ah, yes, he’s there, already,” Jewel replied beside Ariel.
Gideon tilted his head to the side and observed them before he followed them.
He was confused, how did Ariel know the people here?
Something wasn’t right.
