Chapter 150: Chapter 150 Chapter 150: Chapter 150 Outside the shopping mall, Ariel opened her car and let Gregory and Eva put the items inside her boot.
Jewel was standing beside her, chatting quietly with Jace, who was just giggling and laughing at most of the things Jewel was saying and doing.
“I’m done, Ms.
Ariel,” Gregory announced as he closed the boot.
Ariel nodded at him, “Thanks, Gregory, and please, you don’t have to follow me anymore, it’s creepy.
Eva, did you come with a car?” Ariel questioned as she turned to look at Eva.
Eva shook her head, “No, I’ll take a-” “You don’t need to take anything, Gregory here would be such a gentleman and give you a ride back home, right, Greg?” Ariel smirked at him.
Gregory looked over at Eva, who had her face lowered, and suddenly felt like leaving her by herself was, in fact, a bad idea.
“Sure, Ms.
Ariel, I can do that,” He nodded.
Ariel smiled, “Awesome, see you around, Eva,” She waved at Eva and walked toward her car.
“Hey, how about me?
I didn’t come with my car either,” Jewel complained.
“Shut up, Jewel, you’re coming with me; there’s no way I’m going to be the one to offload all those stuff in the boot,” Ariel glared at Jewel.
“Right, of course, coming right behind you.
Enjoy your ride, Eva the changed,” Jewel winked at Eva before walking around to enter Ariel’s car.
Ariel chuckled and placed Jace in the backseat, making sure she safely put the seat belt around him before closing his door.
“Bye, Greg,” She waved at Greg, entered her car, and drove off, leaving Eva alone with Gregory.
Gregory slowly turned to Eva who still stood in the same position, looking as if she was afraid to move.
Gregory was confused by the new person he was seeing; he knew ew for sure that Ms.
Eva Hudson was never a demure woman; she was a rebel, a woman who was always out for trouble and mischief.
So, what was happening now?
Who was this person he was looking at?
He cleared his throat and walked closer to her, “Ms.
Eva, my car’s that way?” He politely reminded.
Eva looked over to where he pointed and immediately started walking toward the grey car.
George sighed am followed her.
He opened the car and let her get into the front seat before he went into the driver’s seat.
He fixed his seat belt and was about to remind her to fix hers, but she was already doing it when he turned to speak to her.
“Right, tell me your address,” He pointed to the In-dash.

Eva nodded and quickly handed her phone to him, “It’s in there,” She replied.
Gregory noticed that she wasn’t looking at him as she gave him her phone.
Nevertheless, he took it and inputted the location on his GPS.
The car ride was quiet, none of them said anything to the other but their mind sure was occupied with what they wanted to say to one another.
“We’re almost there,” Gregory said as he took a turn into a more quiet street.
Eva nodded, “Yeah…” She turned her phone over and over in her hands.
She sighed softly; this was unlike her; why was she suddenly so shy to render a simple apology to someone?
She looked up and realized that they were already approaching her apartment, she had to say something to him before he dropped her off.
She was biting her lips, shaking her leg as she tried to muster up the courage to speak to Gregory.
“We’re here, Ms.
Eva,” Gregory announced as he slowed the car in front of the apartment.
Eva nodded, “Um, thank you,” She muttered.
Gregory turned to look at her, “You’re welcome,” He kept looking at her, expecting her to leave the car but when she kept sitting, he knew that there was something she wanted to say to him.
“Ms.
Eva?
Are you okay?” He gently asked.
He noticed how her brown hair suited her better than the bright pink she used to dye it before.
She actually looked more beautiful this way.
Eva sighed and forced herself to look at Gregory.
“I want to apologize, for three years ago, the kiss…I was drunk and didn’t know what I was doing, I know it must have been so traumatic for you,” She paused and chuckled nervously, “It would be for me too, but I hope my apology eases some of the awkwardness and trauma away from you,” She breathed out, waiting to hear his response.
Gregory thought he’d be man enough to speak casually about it, but he was suddenly feeling very shy and insecure about it.
Should he just accept that he was really embarrassed and traumatized about it because it was his first kiss?
No, he couldn’t tell her that.
It’s been so long since it happened, so maybe pretending not to remember is the best option.
“Um, Ms.
Eva, I’m sorry, I don’t recall what fire is talking about,” He nodded at her, drumming his fingers on his lap.
“What?!” Eva asked in surprise.
She couldn’t believe her ears!
Did he really mean it?
It wasn’t as if he was drunk that night; she was the drunk one while he was accurately aware of his surroundings, so why was he the one forgetting?
Has she just made a fool out of herself by bringing up something awkward to someone who doesn’t even remember it?
“You…you really don’t remember?” She asked in disbelief.
Gregory nodded, “Yes, Ms.
Eva, you mentioned it happened three years ago, I must have just forgotten it happened.
You don’t need to beat yourself up about what happened in the past.
I accept your apology, too, if that will make you feel better,” Gregory calmly spoke to Eva, he was also reeling from his own embarrassment, but he’ll never show it.
Eva tilted her head to the side and thought of how true his words were, but she wasn’t about arguing with him; she was already embarrassed enough.
“Um, okay then, thanks for the ride, goodbye,” She said and immediately left the car and ran into the apartment building, not waiting for Gregory’s response.
Gregory’s mouth was left open as he didn’t get to say his farewell too.
He watched her scurry off into the apartment, and somehow, he got the feeling that Eva might either be disappointed or angry.
Why though?
Did she really want him to remember the kiss that much?
It was barely a kiss, but s kiss nevertheless.
He sighed and drove his car away.
He hoped he wouldn’t run into her again.
*** “Oh, Ariel!
Why are you so evil?” Jewel grunted as he carried the last set of bags into her apartment.
Ariel was sitting on the sofa with Jace beside her; the boy was busy eating a homemade meal his mother made for him; every other thing around him didn’t interest him as the food before him.
Ariel rolled her eyes at Jewel, “There’s such thing as consequences, Jewel; hurry up, and make sure you arrange them neatly in the free room,” she blew him a flying kiss.
Jewel looked at Jace, who had asked him to buy all those toys, and felt betrayed as he sat comfortably beside his mother, enjoying his meal and not giving a shit about him as he fought for his life.
He sighed and carried the bags up to the room.
Ariel was clearing Jace’s places when Jewel came down the stairs, “Thanks, Jewel, I would have been so exhausted without you,” She smiled at him and carried the plates into her kitchen.
Jewel followed her, “It’s not as if I had a choice, Princess,” He muttered.
Ariel was washing the plate under the running water when Jewl came to stand beside her and slid something beside the sink.
She frowned and looked down at the object; her frown deepened when she recognized what it was.
“Tell me you didn’t take it from him, Jewel,” Ariel asked in a low, angry tone.
Jewel shook his head, “I didn’t take it from him, Ariel,” He replied.
Ariel turned to him, “You said it because I asked you to?” She glared at him.
Jewel shook his head again, “No, really, I didn’t.
I found it inside one of the bags as I unpacked the toys,” He informed with a pout, feeling offended that Ariel suspected him.
“Oh, Gregory, your loyalty will get you killed one of these days,” Ariel muttered.
She finished rinsing the plate and cleaned her wet hands with a towel, she took the black card from beside the sink and walked out of the room.
“Hey, how about you tell me all about you, what happened, why did you suddenly go missing?” Jewel asked as he followed Ariel out of the kitchen.
Ariel paused in the living and looked at Jewel, an ideal suddenly coming into her head.
“Before I tell you, I need to get the new password to Aiden’s company; I have unfinished business with his security system,” She smirked.
