Chapter 152: Chapter 152 Chapter 152: Chapter 152 Ariel was sitting on her sofa, waiting for Aiden to come as he informed Gregory.
She had long put Jace to bed, and it was almost midnight, and yet Aiden hadn’t arrived.
She had wanted to wait for him so she could tell him about Moon’s visit and also ask him never to send someone to monitor her again, but, sleep was overshadowing her, she raised her leg up to the sofa and lay her head on the arm of the sofa, before she knew it, she felt herself falling deep into slumber.
*** Earlier that day…
Aiden came out of his car and headed right into his hospital, his heart pounding with each step he took close to it.
He got in and went straight to Carla’s office.
“Mr.
Chaz, good morning, what can I do for you?” She questioned taking off her glasses and putting down her pen.
Aiden lowered himself on the chair and dropped a small transparent ziplock bag on the table, staring at Carma without saying a word.
Carla narrowed her eyes and fixed her glasses back on he face, she needed to see what was on the table.
She used her finger to draw the ziplock bag closer to her front by drawing it across the table.
“It’s a stared of hair, Mr.
Chaz,” She pointed out, looking back at him.
Aiden nodded, “It is,” He replied.
“Um, okay, what do you want to do with it?” She questioned.
“DNA,” He replied with a straight face.
Carla frowned, “DNA…you want a repeat?
Don’t you trust the first results we gave you?
Trust me, Mr.
Chaz, your hospital had the best-” “It’s not Candy’s” He cut her short.
Carla frowned again.
She stood from her chair and walked around, sitting at the edge of the table and giving him a confused look.
“Oh, Aiden, did you tell me you got another girl pregnant?
Since Ariel left, I don’t quite understand you anymore; it’s not like you to get random girls pregnant; who is this one?
What’s her name?” Carla asked in concern.
Aiden found her concern funny; what did she take him for?
A bunny?
Does she really think she would sleep with just anyone?
He wasn’t in a hurry to expand their lineage.
“Her name is Ariel,” He replied simply, watching her reaction.

Carla’s face fell, “Oh, now I see why you got her pregnant, she bears the name of your missing – hold the phone!” She sprang up from the chair and widened her eyes at Aiden.
Aiden simply relaxed against the chair and watched her realize what he meant.
“You…you mean, Ariel, as in, Ariel, your Ariel?” She asked with a tilted head.
Aiden casually shrugged.
“Yeah, my Ariel,” He confirmed.
“No way!” Carla covered her hands over her mouth, her eyes turning misty.
She felt so emotional because if it was truly Ariel, then that meant that Aiden didn’t need any DNA; the child was his.
Sje remember the last time Ariel was here, full of excitement to go home and tell Aiden the good news, but some strange things happened, and she went missing, never getting the opportunity to tell Aiden about his child.
However, she was so curious, where did she go?
How did she return?
Why did he need a DNA if Ariel could just tell him the truth?
She sighed and composed herself, “I’m happy for you, Mr.
Chaz, your wife is back,” She smiled at him.
Aiden nodded, “It’s complicated…Moon’s presence is threatening to mess with us again,” He said, frowning.
He knew that Moon was the reason why Ariel hadn’t agreed to come back with him; she believed he had carried on with Moon when she disappeared.
She hasn’t allowed him to explain himself or his situation.
Carla cleared her throat, she slowly picked up the ziplock bag and stared at it, ‘I’m sorry, Ariel, I have to betray you this time, Aiden deserves to know,’ she thought to herself.
“What gender is her child?” She questioned.
Auden didn’t answer.
Instead, he took out his phone from his pocket and showed a picture to Caral.
“Damn, a spitting image of his mother,” She smiled, no wonder Aiden needed a DNA rest, the kid looked nothing like him.
She sighed and threw the ziplock bag onto his lap, “I can’t help you with this, Mr.
Chaz, it’ll be a waste of our time,” She walked back to her seat and sat down, preparing to resume what she was reading.
Auden frowned, angry.
“What is this supposed to mean, Carla?” He balled his fist; he was already frustrated with life, and Carla was still trying to frustrate him more.
“Oh, I’m not looking to annoy you, Mr.
Chaz, but take it from me; you don’t need the DNA test,” She said seriously.
Aiden was getting confused and a little anxious, “What do mean, Carla?” He questioned, moving to the edge of the chair.
Carla drummed her fingers, silently apologizing to Ariel in her head one last time, “What I mean is that you don’t need the DNA test because the boy is yours,” there, it’s been said.
Silence…
A loud and heavy silence filled the room as Aiden’s mind tried to process the information he’d just taken in.
He stared at Carla with apprehensive eyes.
“You do realize what you’re saying, right?
You’re saying that the boy Ariel came back with is my child…a child I made with her, am I correct?” He questioned slowly, his heart pounding loudly in his ears.
“Yes, Mr.
Chaz, congratulations on your baby boy.
She wanted to tell you earlier before she went missing, and I’m sorry I never got to tell you; she made me promise never to tell you before she did; I know it was stupid of me; I’m sorry,” she apologized.
“You knew?” His voice was low and disappointed.
“I’m sorry, Mr.
Chaz,” She apologized again.
Aiden was surprised, so Ariel wanted to tell him before she went missing?
Then, how the fuck was he supposed to deal with the picture he had of her and another man.
He was no fool; he had checked several if it was photoshopped, but it wasn’t.
It was a real picture, and he had received the Picture from Ariel’s phone directly.
His head was messed up, something was definitely missing in his line of story, but right now, he didn’t care.
He stood up and said, “I forgive you, Carla.
But I need you to keep this,” He pushed the ziplock bag back to her.
“I still need the results, in case someone tries to deny me of my son,” He said and gave her one last look before walking out of the office.
Aiden sat inside his car for a very long time.
His mind was full of thoughts.
He tried to think of what really happened to Ariel, was she set up?
Was it really Moon?
He believed that Ariel wouldn’t have come back here if she really cheated on him; just like his father said, he needed to dig deep into the past to find out what really happened.
But at that moment, his instincts told him that Ariel was set up and it annoyed him to the core.
He would find that person who dared kidnap his wife, framed her, and destroyed their relationship.
He was suddenly feeling bad for all the bad things he said to her as she returned; she might just have been through a lot like him or maybe more.
Learning that Jace was his son made him almost forget his sorrows; he was too excited with the knowledge that he did make a baby with Ariel.
He wanted to ride down to her house immediately but he didn’t, he had told her that he’d visit her at night, he didn’t want to interrupt her daily activities, Gregory had already informed him that Ariel had gone shopping with her…no, with their son, yes…their son.
He didn’t want to spoil their fun.
He smiled as he thought of that, but he suddenly thought of Candy, and his mood dampened.
The child was innocent of her mother’s actions, yet he was never this excited to learn that she was his daughter; if he was being honest with himself, he was rather disappointed.
He did try to be a father to Candy, but he never felt that connection with her; he did love the girl, but the love was almost like he was loving a friend’s daughter: you take care of the child, provide for all her needs, but the paternal love was missing.
Not in Jace’s case, the first time he saw the boy, he felt there was something between them, and he always wanted to be beside him, to be his friend and his father.
He wanted to be present in the boy’s life.
He was almost three years already; that’s a lot of time for a father to be away from his son’s life.
He was going to step in, and no one was going to stop him, not even Ariel.
He didn’t go to Ariel, he drove to his father to tell him the news, and, it was about time his father told him the story of how and where he met Ariel.
