He stood in front of his father’s house, leaning against his car and thinking deeply about everything.

He thought back to the smile he saw on his father’s face when he told him about Jace.

Aiden chuckled as he recalled it.

He knew his father was holding himself from showing how excited he was, but he knew he already loved Jace more than he loved his own son.

His father had also advised him to never let Ariel slip away from him.

Aiden sighed and checked his wristwatch and saw that it was almost midnight; he was still going to her; there was no way he was sleeping alone tonight; he needed to hold Ariel in his arms tonight.

He saw her through his front mirror and immediately started walking toward his car, but he wasn’t planning to wait for her to meet up, he stepped on the gas and zoomed out of the gate, leaving Grandma Nari looking hurt and disappointed.

As he drove off, he had no fear that his father might tell his grandma what he had just told him.

His father wouldn’t because he asked him never to, and he also told him everything that was happening between them, so his father was sensible enough not to bring it up.

He didn’t want to bring Grandma Nari into his affairs any more; if she ever learned that Ariel was back and with a child, he feared she might just overreact and cause Ariel to get father away from him; he wanted to win Ariel back himself, not because of some old woman’s unsolicited intervention.

He sped on, heading right in Ariel’s direction.

He knew she would have slept, but he couldn’t go back to his mansion; loneliness would kill him, especially now that he had a lot to discuss with Ariel.

He started to question how he had managed to survive those three long years alone.

He soon reached Ariel’s apartment and quickly left his car, not forgetting to pick up the packet of briefs he always had in his car in case he needed to sleep outside his home like now.

Aiden got anxious as the door was being opened, but once he saw the cute person behind it, all his nervousness and anxiousness left him.

He was filled with the urge to engulf her in his arms, and he did.

He slowly walked inside the house and gently pulled Ariel into his arms, using his left to shut the door.

Ariel didn’t resist; she sighed in relief and nestled her head on his chest, wrapping her arms around his neck; it was too late to fight; all she wanted was to be babied by a man…her man…she couldn’t let him be that for the night, Aiden was her man.

“You’re late,” She mumbled sleepily.

Aiden chuckled quietly; this wasn’t how he thought he’d be welcomed; he expected some cold treatment and verbal fights, not this cute and clingy kitten, but hey, he wasn’t complaining; he loved this version of her too.

“You waited?” He asked.

Ariel nodded her head.

“Then let’s go to bed,” He whispered and lifted her, wrapping her legs around his waist.

Ariel let her head rest on his shoulder as he carried her up the stairs and into her room.

Aiden stared at Jace’s door as he walked past Ariel’s room and felt so fulfilled, he couldn’t wait for tomorrow morning so he could discuss everything with Ariel and get to tell the boy that he was his father.

He gently lay Ariel on the bed and kissed her forehead.

He was about to move away from her, but her arms tightened around his neck.

“Leaving?” She whispered, her eyes half-opened as she stared at his handsome face.

Aiden smiled, shaking his head, “No, Moma, I just want to get off my clothes,” He replied.

Ariel nodded and released him, lying on her side.

Aiden smiled at her cuteness and walked over to her wardrobe; he removed everything…everything and walked into her bathroom.

After a quick shower, he tied a towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom.

As he pulled his loose briefs under his towel, he stared at Ariel’s sleeping form and fell in love all over again with her.

She was such an angel, his angel, and he would treat her just like one.

He removed the towel, placed it over the back of a chair and walked over to the bed.

He climbed over to his side and proceeded to move toward her, placing his arm over her and gently drawing her closer to his front, spooning her body.

He buried his face in her neck and sniffed her, sighing as her soft, and sweet scent calmed his tired nerves.

There was no place he’d rather be than right here with Ariel, his wife, and mother of her child.

Ariel felt Aiden’s strong arm around her slim waist; his hand was gently sprawled on her flat stomach, rubbing it.

She sighed and moved closer to him; this was exactly what she wanted, someone to do to her what she used to do to Jace.

Even adults needed some tender loving care too, so she wasn’t shying away from this one; she loved it.

“Aiden…” She called in a very soft tone.

“Mm,” Ariel hummed quietly behind her neck.

“Goodnight,” She wished.

Aiden couldn’t help smiling; he felt hope rising in his chest.

Maybe she didn’t hate him as much as he thought; he still had a chance, just with the right approach, he’d make her see that she loved him too and that he had never stopped loving her.

“Goodnight, Moma, I love you,” He whispered behind her and kissed the back of her head.

This was the peace he wanted.
