Chapter 157: Chapter 157 Chapter 157: Chapter 157 Jace was sitting in Aiden’s lap, looking up at his face.
They were currently in Ariel’s living room and Ariel was sitting beside Aiden, working on her computer.
She had told Jace that Aiden was his dad and it was what led the boy to be currently fitted on Aiden’s lap.
He had excitedly run up to Aiden and gotten on his lap, and this was the third time he had asked Aiden, “Are you really my dad?” Aiden looked at Ariel for help, he had answered the question so many times and didn’t know how to convince the little boy again.
Ariel sighed and looked away from her computer, “Yes, Jace, he’s your father, just like your friends, you now have a father too.
And he is rich too,” she winked at the boy.
Jace suddenly started to giggle; he looked up at Aiden and spread his arms, “Hug, hug,” He said, still giggling.
Aiden laughed, not able to contain the boy’s cuteness.
He hugged Jace, allowing the little guy to wrap his small hands around his neck.
“I love you, Dad,” Jace whispered.
Aiden froze, he never knew a toddler could make a grown man tear up.
Ariel felt her heart melting away when she heard her son; she stared at the father and son and realized that she made the right decision; it was the best choice to tell Jace that Aiden was his father; the boy loved Aiden already.
“I love you too, son,” Aiden replied in a soft tone, his eyes shining with fulfillment as he looked at Ariel.
His determination to get Ariel back with him intensified.
He wanted this; he wanted their little family bubble to remain; he couldn’t imagine living without Ariel or Jace.
Life would just be meaningless without them.
“Dad?” Jace called, his little brows furrowed.
Ariel was also curious to know what he had to say that made him look so serious.
“Yes, little man, something bothering you?” Aiden asked.
He leaned against the sofa and held the boy to himself; he had canceled his work today just so he could be with his family, so he was ready to listen and answer all the silly questions Jace had to ask him.
Jace slowly nodded; he turned to Ariel and pointed at her, then pointed at himself.
“When do Mom and I get to live with you?
My friends live with their dads and do a lot of fun things with them too,” Jace spread his arms beside him to exaggerate the ‘a lot’ he used in his expression.
Aiden locked eyes with Ariel, a smirk adorning his handsome face, meanwhile, Ariel’s face turned sour, she didn’t expect Jace to ask such a question, she knew this was what Aiden wanted, a way to get her back to his side, and if Jace wanted to move on with his father, it would be so wrong of her to deny the boy what he wanted, he’d already been away from the father for so long.
Aiden smiled at Jace, “Do you want to come live with me?
My house is pretty big; you’ll live in it,” He raised to Jace.
Jace’s eyes shined, “Yes!
Mummy, we’re going to live in a huge house, like the one we see on TV,” He swayed excitedly.
“Even bigger than the one you see on TV,” Aiden added.
Jace gasped; he slid over to Ariel and got on her lap, hugging her arm.

“Mummy, when are we going?
Can we go now?” He blinked up cutely and her.
Ariel sighed, “Don’t worry, baby, I’ll have to discuss with your father first, then you can go visit him sometimes and-” “Sometimes?
I thought family lived together?
Are we not family?” Jace asked, his eyes getting teary.
“Yes, Moma, are we not family?” Aiden questioned.
Ariel glared at him.
She was still trying to find a way to calm the crying boy down, and Aiden was adding to her problem.
“Baby, listen, we are family, but-” “Then I want to live with him and you together,” Jace hugged Ariel and cried quietly.
“Come on, Ariel, give the kid what he wants, don’t be self-” “Don’t say that, Aidenn.
Mind your words, after all, you’re doing the same thing,” she pointed at him.
“It’s alright, sweetheart, you can live with your father, don’t cry, you can live with him, okay?” She kissed Jace’s head, patting his back.
“I might be doing it too, but I’m doing it for a good course, and I know that’s what you’ll want too.
We don’t want our son to be caught in the crossfire, we owe him a normal childhood, the presence of his parents in his life, a happy family, and complete family; that’s all I’m asking,” He moved closer, and held Ariel’s hand, “You and I, we can sort ourselves out, we’re already doing that, anyway,” He winked at her.
Ariel sighed, she was frustrated, but she knew he was right; they owed all that to little Jace; he was innocent of all their actions.
“It’s alright, Jace, you can live with your father, but I have work to do, so I won’t be home all the time; I promise to visit you as often as I can.
Is that okay with you?” Ariel asked gently.
Jace raised his face to look at his mother, “How about after you finish your work, will you now come live with us?” Ariel bit her lips, she had no choice but to slowly nod at him, “Yes, I will,” Jace finally smiled.
She moved from Ariel’s lap, and in between his parents, he kissed Ariel’s cheek, then kissed Aiden’s, “I love you, Mummy, I love you, Dad,” He said and giggled.
Aiden melted, he carried the boy in his arms and hugged her tightly.
Ariel watched but suddenly got worried when Aiden started to tickle Jace.
Jace laughed and snorted, tickling was his weakness, and so was hers.
Jace laughed and laughed until Ariel decided to help him out.
She shifted to Aiden and playfully tried to remove his hands from Jace; Aiden saw this and attacked her, too.
Now, both mother and son lay on the sofa, laughing and laughing until tears fell from their eyes.
“Aiden, Aiden, we can’t breathe,” Ariel begged amidst laughter.
“No!
No!
Don’t stop, Dad, it’s fun!” Jace kept laughing and kicking his legs.
A knock on the door made Aiden pause and Ariel quickly escaped, carrying a protesting Jace.
“No, I want more tickles, more tickles,” He was still giggling.
“No, honey, you don’t; what you need is to catch your breath,” She replied, panting and glaring at Aiden, who had a bug smile on his face.
She carried him into the kitchen to give him some water.
Before she reached the kitchen door, she heard the knock on her door again and paused.
“I’ve got it,” Aiden said and stood from the sofa.
Ariel nodded and continued on into the kitchen.
Aiden headed toward the door and opened it just to find his father and Logan standing there.
He sighed and stepped aside, he would have loved to cause a little trouble if it were just Logan alone, but he didn’t want his father seeing that stupid side of him.
“Good morning, Father.
Hello, Logan,” He greeted as they walked in.
Logan paused after closing the door, frowning at Aiden.
“Who are you calling father?
You want to claim fathers now too?” He questioned, chuckling in disbelief.
Aiden smirked at him, “Make yourself at home, Logan; I’ll tell my wife that a friend is here to visit,” He tapped Logan’s shoulder and walked over to his father in the living room.
“I see you’re not wasting time, don’t.
Already sleeping over at her place, I see,” Mr.
Sloan narrowed his eyes at Aiden.
Aiden shrugged, “What can I say, Dad?
I want my wife back,” He made sure he looked at Logan as he said those words.
Mr.
Sloan chuckled, “Young love, it’s always exciting to witness, don’t you agree, Logan?” He stated at Logan who was standing behind a sofa, an unreadable expression on his face.
Logan balled his fists beside him, his heart hurting.
He knew Ariel had already confessed to him that Aiden was her husband, but he never knew Aiden would be this determined to get her back, he had thought there would be a chance for him to step in and be the right man for Ariel, but he was starting to realize that there might just not be any space for him to step in.
“Um, I’m sorry, can I ask one question?” Logan walked over to Mr.
Sloan, standing beside his sofa.
Mr.
Slona nodded, “I already know, Logan, and I’m sorry for not telling you earlier.
Yes, Aiden is my son, and he is Ariel’s husband,” He informed.
Logan slowly nodded, “I see, I understand.
It’s alright…It doesn’t change anything, right?
I still get to be Ariel’s friend?” He asked gently.
Mr.
Sloan chuckled, “Of course, Logan, Jace would be devastated if he no longer sees his best uncle by his side,” “He can live if he wants,” Aiden added.
“Aiden Chaz,” Mr.
Sloan called, giving Aiden a warning look.
Aiden sighed and plopped down on the sofa.
“Don’t worry, Aiden, you don’t need to be insecure, as long as you’re sure Ariel still wants you as a husband,” He went over to Aidena and tapped his shoulder.
Mr.
Sloan laughed, liking the new challenge for his son.
He hoped the rival would make him hasten his motives with Ariel.
“That’s true, son, as long as you’re able to convince her to be your wife; otherwise, she has the right to pursue the divorce and be with whoever she wants, for example, Logsn.
He’d make a good husband too,” Mr.
Sloan added.
“Father?” Aiden called in utter disappointment.
He couldn’t believe his father would be taking Logan’s side.
“How-” He was about to say something when his phone suddenly rang.
He picked up, eyeing Logan suspiciously.
“Hello, Lin,” He raised his brows; Lin rarely called him, and he answered the call because he knew that Lin wasn’t in support of Grandma Nari’s idea.
“Hello, cousin, check the picture I sent; I think your wife is alive,” Lin ended the call after informing him.
Aiden was confused.
Firstly, he knew his wife was Ali, but he didn’t understand how Lin and Grandma Nari got to know.
Moon must have told them.
He opened the image and frowned, it was a picture of Logan kissing Ariel, with Jace in his arms as they stood in front of her apartment.
“Ariel with her new husband and kid,” Aiden read out the caption with a deep frown.
“The caption is not bad,” Logan spoke from behind, where he looked into Aiden’s phone.
“What’s going on?” Ariel asked as she came out of the kitchen.
