Chapter 166: Chapter 166 Chapter 166: Chapter 166 Ariel turned to face Grandma Nari.
Her eyes met Aiden’s for a second, but she removed her eyes when she saw that he was about to shake his head at her.
No, she wasn’t having that.
She wasn’t about to let anyone say anything demeaning around her son.
She’d rather son watch her put that person in her place than watch the person put him down.
She walked over to Grandma Nari and smiled at her.
“It’s been so long, Grandma.
I’m sure if I’m still allowed to address you as one, or do you prefer Lady Chaz?” She questioned politely.
Aiden sighed and walked over to Ariel, “Ariel, she was just about to leave, let her,” He gently held her arm.
“Grandma is fine, Ariel.
I do have a few questions for you,” Grandma Nari said with narrowed eyes.
“Of course,” She smiled.
Aiden sighed.
This was spiraling faster than he thought.
“Sir, I can feed the boy, right?” Anna asked from the dining.
Aiden turned to her and smiled, “Sure, Anna,” She responded.
“Please, sit, Grandma,” Ariel pointed to the sofa, “We don’t want you getting tired, ” She wrapped her arm around Aiden’s.
Grandma Nari looked over at Jace, who was happily eating with Anna and felt the guilt wash over her.
The boy was innocent, but rules were rules.
She’d rather Aiden brought his real child home than someone else’s.
“I don’t need to sit, Ariel.
I just need you to answer me a few questions,” Grandma Nari said.
Aiden lifted his head and stared at her, “I think you should just leave, Grandma,” “It’s okay, I’m willing,” Ariel gently patted Aiden’s hand.
“Good.
Why did you cheat on my grandson?
And as if it wasn’t enough, you have brought back a child that isn’t his for him to raise; why?
What do you want to front him?” Grandma Nari asked, staring into Ariel’s eyes with withheld anger.
Ariel didn’t flinch.
The questions were not even as bad as she thought they’d be.
She understood Grandma Nari’s worries, unlike Moon.

Her questions and suspicions stemmed from a place of goodwill, not like Moon’s evil ambitions.
“Firstly, I did not cheat on your grandson.
On the contrary, he cheated on me.
Secondly, my baby boy over is Aiden’s son…and between you and me, I’ve kept my end of the bargain,” She smirked at the old woman.
Grandma Nari shook her head, “Impossible, I saw it, I saw the picture of you with another -” “I have a child at home, Grandma.
Mind what you say, especially about the mother.
Leave, please,” Aiden stepped forward and pointed to the door.
“You showed her the picture?” Ariel stared at Aiden in disappointment.
Aiden frowned, “No, I didn’t.
I would never, it was Moon, and no, I did not show it to Moon; she got her hands on my phone and found it.
I have never mentioned it to anyone, I promise,” Aiden turned to Ariel, his face pleading with her to believe him.
He wasn’t happy at all.
He just wanted his family with him.
He didn’t ask for all the drama.
He was supposed to be at the dining table talking with his son, but he was rather standing in the living room, discussing topics that would tear him apart from his wife.
Ariel sighed.
It was hard to believe, but she believed him.
She knew Aiden would never do anything that would tarnish her image in front of people.
“I don’t want to cause trouble, Ariel.
But, I demand to see proof of the boy’s paternity.
I am not biased, even though my grandson might hate me now.
All I’ve done was for his own good.
If the child is his, I promise I will not have a problem with you continuing your marriage with him.
If proven otherwise, I’m sorry, but I will have to terminate the marriage, goodbye,” She nodded at them and walked away, leaving the house.
Ariel sighed, “What a morning, right, love?” She asked.
Aiden was silent.
He slowly turned to Gregory, who had been standing beside the wall like an inanimate object, his look boring into his bodyguard’s soul.
Gregory gulped.
He knew he was going to be blamed for letting Grandma Nari in, but he was really helpless against the old, stubborn woman; he couldn’t possibly have hijacked her out of her grandson’s home; even the grandson would have his head if he tried it.
So, for him, it was a dicey game of power.
He didn’t know who to obey or who to defy.
He could only hope his instincts led him correctly.
“Ask Viktor to submit the weekly report.
Call Ken and ask him to reach out to the three investors.
Lastly, go to the mall and make sure you buy everything Jace would need: gadgets, clothes, toys, movies, and everything you know that children like.
It’s 7 a.m., all these should be done before 9 a.m.,” Aiden ordered and walked toward the dining.
Gregory felt as if he was drowning in salty water.
He knew he had just been punished for letting Grandma Nari in.
Aiden knew that it was super hard for him to get in contact with his friends, especially Viktor.
That man was almost like a ghost.
He’d never be reached unless he called or emailed by himself.
Ken, on the other hand, might answer your call, but he’d plainly ask you to never call him again.
The shopping for Jace?
That was going to be his biggest fail among all the assignments.
He had zero ideas about what kids liked.
He only shopped if a list was provided, and even with a list, he got most of the rhjbfs wrong most of the time.
Now, without a list, how on earth was he supposed to succeed?
He was on his way to losing his job.
How was he supposed to finish all those hard tasks before nine in the morning?
That was less than an hour.
He sighed quietly.
He looked at the dining and saw his boss standing beside Ariel’s chair as if he’d get his ass whooped if he dared to sit next to her.
He understood why Aiden would be mad, his morning got ruined, and his first ever morning with his son.
Gregory took a deep breath and walked out of the house, hoping he would return with at least half of the assignments done.
At the dining table, Aiden was standing next to Ariel; he didn’t know how to start a conversation with her; this wasn’t what he promised her; he promised her some peace and quiet, not drama and threats.
“Daddy, sit,” Jace parallel to his father.
Aiden moved slowly, going over to the chair beside Ariel.
He slowly lowered himself beside her, watching her face and waiting for her to bring up the conversation regarding Grandma Nari’s visit.
“Here you are,” Ariel placed a plate of food in front of him, surprising him.
He wasn’t expecting her to act as if nothing happened.
“What?” She asked when she saw him staring at her face.
Aiden shook his head, “Nothing, I just thought you would be upset because -” “Grandma Nari?” She questioned, “No way.
I know it’s not your fault she thinks the way she does, and it’s not even her fault for thinking the way she does either, we all know who’s fault it,” She said and placed a hand on Aiden’s thigh.
“But hey, we can overlook all those, what matters is us right now.
You don’t have to worry about me blaming you for anything when I say I love; I mean it; love can’t exist without trust; I’m going to trust your words; whatever you tell me is what I’m going to believe, okay?” She whispered to him.
Aiden’s heart warmed; he placed his hand over her on his thigh, leaned down, and kissed the side of her face, “I love you, Ariel,” He whispered.
Anna was almost feeding Jace; the muscles on her face were starting to hurt from how much she was smiling.
The scene in front of her was beautiful to watch; she was so happy to see Aiden smile again.
She thought the poor man was going to die of heartbreak and disappointment, but thankfully, fate still brought him love and happiness.
“Did you enjoy your food?” Anna asked Jace, who was gulping down a glass of warm milk.
Jace nodded, “I did, it was delicious,” He gave her a thumbs-up with his little thumb, making everyone smile.
“I feel flattered, young master,” Anna patted his head and cleared the plates.
“You did a good job, Moma,” Aiden whispered into Ariel’s ear.
Ariel furrowed her brows, “Where?” She asked.
Aiden slowly pointed at Jace, who was still busy with his glass of milk.
“You did a good job raising him for three years, he’s perfect,” he placed a hand on her thigh, “I want to reward you for your efforts,” his hand moved higher.
Ariel chuckled, “Reward?
Like willing all your stuff to me?” Aiden’s hand moved higher, “You own me; you literally own everything about me,” He whispered seductively, “Last night, we didn’t get the chance to do it because of that little intruder…how about now?” He asked slowly.
Ariel laughed softly, “Intruder huh?” She chuckled, staring at their son.
“In some cases, he is.
Please?
You know how I’ve been since the club, just once?
I promise I’ll be quick,” His face was already on her neck, his breath fanning her sensitive skin.
Ariel giggled, “Stop it, Aiden, there’s a child here,” She gently pushed him away.
Aiden was about to respond but ended up gritting his teeth when he heard Ken walking in behind him.
“Fucking cock block,” Aiden muttered under his breath.
“Good morning, everyone, what a sight for sour eyes!” Ken came and patted Aiden’s back, “I see you couldn’t stay alone for a while longer.
Hi, Ariel, it’s good seeing you back here.
Hey Jace, come here, uncle’s going to show you something awesome,” He went straight and lifted Jace out of the chair and carried the smiling boy toward the exit.
Aiden suddenly smirked, maybe, Ken wasn’t really a cock-block as he thought, “Hey, Moma, I’ve got something to show you upstairs,” He whispered.
Ariel turned and looked at him, her eyes immediately taking in the look in Aiden’s eyes, but she wasn’t going to give in, not yet, “I’ll pass.
I’m more interested in seeing what Ken has to show Jace; come along if you want,” She smiled at him and stood from the chair, walking toward the exit, too.
Aiden felt dumped; he couldn’t believe he could even feel jealous over his son’s relationship with his wife, but he did, at that moment, he wished Ken would adopt Jace for a few hours; he wanted his wife on his bed, and he was going to get her.
