Chapter 207: Chapter 207
Jess had slept over at Aiden’s place, telling Ariel about her travels and apologizing for not telling her about Ken’s and Moon’s plan years ago, but Ariel waved it off, saying she was just trying to protect her.
She spent most of her time playing with Jace as promised and after a while, she put the boy to bed.
The next morning, Jess hurried over to her house, she needed to go to the gym.
But she never expected to find Ken on her doorstep again.
As she got out of her car, she frowned as she stared at the young man sitting in front of her house with his head lowered to his thighs.
She would have concluded that he’d been there since yesterday but he’d changed his clothes, so he definitely went home and returned this morning; what if she didn’t return that morning? Would he just have waited till night?
She sighed and walked forward.
“Kenneth,” She called as she approached him but Ken wouldn’t answer.
“Kenneth, I’m not in the mood for jokes; you need to get up so I can enter my house,” She said seriously, still, Ken didn’t reply.
She was getting pissed, she placed on his shoulder to push him away but paused.
“Damn, you’re burning up,” She lowered herself in front of him and gently lifted his head.
“Is this sleeping or fainting?” She muttered to herself.
“Kenneth, Kenneth, wake up, you need to get into the house,” She whispered in front of him.
Ken finally opened his eyes, “Inside the house? You’re not asking me to leave?” He asked weakly.
Jess frowned, “Oh, so you’ve been hearing me all along? Maybe you should leave,” Jess was about to stand up but Ken held her hand.
“Please… I can’t even lift myself, don’t send me away, take me in,” He begged.
Jess stared at him suspiciously; she was starting to believe he had done something to himself just be feel sick so he could gain her sympathy.
She sighed and held his hand, “Get up,” She mumbled.
Ken got up, holding Jess’ hand for support.
Jess managed to unlock her door and helped Ken get inside her house.
She put him down on the sofa and went to lock her door.
“When did this start?” She questioned as she walked back to her living room.
“A few minutes ago,” Ken replied in a small voice.
Jess scoffed, “And you didn’t think going to your cousin was the best?” She raised a brow at him.
“I wouldn’t have seen you if I left,” Ken replied.
Jess paused in front of him and stared at him quietly, “So, you didn’t go to the hospital for your health just so you would see me?” She asked.
Ken nodded, “Yes,”
“I see, so what if you die now?” She asked again.
“Then I’d die happy,” Ken said.
Jess burst out laughing, shaking her head, “You’re really dumb, Kenneth. Don’t think for one second that I’d listen to you just because you’re suddenly sick. I didn’t send you him because I’m not as heartless as you are. Do you understand?”

Ken slowly nodded, “I understand, Jessica,” He sighed and unbuttoned his first two buttons, shifting away from his previous position on the sofa.
Jess knew he was feeling hot, he needed to wipe his body.
She walked into the bathroom and returned with a towel and a bowl of water, “You’re feeling hot, right?” She asked.
Ken opened his closed eyes to a slit and saw the bowl in her hand, “Yes,”
“Then wipe yourself,” She dropped it beside his leg and turned to leave.
“Jessica, Jess,” He called helplessly.
Jess gritted her teeth and faced him, “What do you want, Kenneth?” She glared at him.
Ken sat up, furrowing his brows, “I know I’m asking for too much, but can you help me? I’m so weak I can’t move a muscle, please. I know you hate me and wish me dead, and I deserve whatever you wish me, but please, just help me out; I feel so uncomfortable; I might actually die if you don’t help me,” he begged, looking into her eyes.
“So pathetic,” She moved over to him and pushed his back to the sofa.
“Ouch,” Ken grunted, “My head hurts,” He complained.
“Be quiet,” She glared at him and soaked the towel inside the bowl, then slowly unbuttoned his shirt.
She knelt in front of him and pulled his shirt off his hands, “Lean off the sofa,” She commanded.
Ken obeyed, he leaned off the sofa, and the action made him get closer to her face.
As Jess was busy pulling his shirt off his body, Ken was busy staring at her face, “You’re beautiful,” Ken whispered.
Jess paused, looking up to realize that Ken was staring at her. She frowned and moved away from him.
“I already know that Kenneth; you don’t need to remind me. Now, keep quiet, before I change my mind,” She warned.
Ken nodded and remained quiet.
“Ahh,” He sighed the moment he felt the cool material touch his skin.
Jess ignored him, concentrating on wiping his arms. She soaked the towel in the water again and wrung it slightly before raising it to his shoulder, slowly wiping it down to his chest.
“Ah, Jessica, it feels so good,” Ken sighed again as Jess wiped his abdomen.
Jess paused, “Kenneth, stop it. Just stop making those stupid sounds,” She said, eyeing him.
Ken smiled, “Why? Does it turn you on, Jessica?” He asked.
Jess scoffed, “It irritates me, move,” She tapped his shoulder.
Ken smiled, obediently turning his back to her.
Jess quickly wiped his back and carried her bowl, “I’m done; your temperature is reduced; you can go home now,” She pointed to the door.
Ken shook his head, “I’m sleepy, let me sleep,” He murmured and closed his eyes.
Jess felt like pouring that water on him, but she would wet her floor and sofa if she did, she sighed and just walked away, ignoring him.
She went into her room, shut her door, and leaned her back on it.
“Fuck you, Kenneth,” She whispered.
Her heart was racing. Did that idiot have to have a damn sexy body? She couldn’t almost get her hands and eyes off him.
Attraction is not love, she was allowed to be attracted, right? Yes.
She can admire, just admire, but never to touch. Ken was a fine man; that was her first reason for falling for him back then, but stories have changed; she no longer loved or cared for him; she was just appreciating his body, that was all.
She went inside her bathroom and poured the water inside the sink, washing her hands.
She frowned as she was about to walk out of the bathroom, noticing how sweaty she’d become from taking care of Ken.
She quickly got rid of her clothes and went under her shower. Since she wasn’t going to the gym anymore, she could as well enjoy some quiet sleep.
After her shower, she walked out with a towel around her body. She planned on just putting on underwear and a shirt; she would have slept naked if not for Ken’s presence in her house.
She pulled her towel off as she stood in front of her wardrobe and, pulled on a shirt and underwear, stretched herself before walking over to her bed.
“What the… Kenneth?!” She called in utter shock.
She had just pulled her sheets to get on her bed when she saw Ken comfortably lying on her side of the bed, sleeping.
“What does this mean? Kenneth, you need to leave, right now,” She tapped his shoulder and his cheeks.
Ken furrowed his brows, humming quietly.
Jess was angry; she had been kind enough to let him in her house, and now he was invading her bed.
She huffed and held his wrist, “I’m dragging out, Ken – Ah!” She gasped in surprise as she suddenly felt herself being pulled down onto Ken, his arms tightening around her waist in a matter of seconds.
“What do you think you’re doing? Let me go immediately!” Jess tried to struggle, but Ken’s arm only tightened.
“Shh… you’re too loud, just let me sleep, you need to sleep too, so, let’s sleep, just…be quiet,” His hand gently rubbed her back.
“Kenneth, this is inappropriate, you need to let me go,” She huffed.
“Inappropriate?” Ken opened his sleepy eyes and stared at her face.
“We’ve gotten naked together before, Jessica; this is quite appropriate,” He whispered, one of his hands coming up to gently push her head down on his chest.
Jess was about to say something when she felt Ken’s hand going below her waist, “Kenneth,” She called in a warning tone.
“Be quiet, Jess, or I’ll kiss you,” he mumbled.
Jess sighed; she was in a critical position at the moment; she might move and cause more harm than good, so she decided to be quiet.
She would wait for Ken to fall asleep, and then she’d move out from on top of him.
However, as she calmed down and lay on top of his warm, toned body, she didn’t realize that she was slowly falling asleep; the slow tap she was feeling on her back wasn’t helping either.
Jess fell asleep in a very warm and cozy embrace; it is safe to say she felt safe.
After a very long nap, Jess was the first to wake up, realizing that she had really fallen asleep on top of Ken.
She cursed herself for letting herself sleep. She slowly tried to lift herself up but Ken’s voice stopped her.
“Sleep well?” He asked quietly.
Jess sighed and raised her face to look at him, not saying a word.
“It’s time to leave my bed, Kenneth,” She said.
Ken nodded, “I know, I’m going to miss the warmth of your skin,” He whispered, his fingers suddenly grazing her thighs.
Jess gasped softly, “Kenneth,” She called softly.
“Jessica,” Ken responded, his hand coming up behind her neck, caressing it.
“What are we doing?” She whispered.
“Don’t think about it; just let your feelings decide,” He replied, staring at her lips.
“I don’t want to,” Despite her words, her head was slowly lowering toward Ken’s.
“I’m not going to force you, Jessica, that doesn’t mean I don’t want you,” He held her face.
“It’s just a kiss, I still hate you,” She whispered against his lips.
“Understood,” His hot breath fanned her face.
Jess knew she’d regret this, but, fuck it.
She covered the space between their lips and pressed her lips against his.
Sparks flew from one person’s body to the other; Ken sucked in a sharp breath, his heart racing uncontrollably, he hadn’t even kissed her back, but he was already losing his breath.
Jessica’s body felt hot; maybe Ken’s fever had been transferred to her; she realized that Ken was not kissing her back and felt the old feeling of rejection coming back to her. She slowly lifted her head and stared at his face.
“You should go,” She said and moved away from him but Ken caught her arm and pushed her down on the bed, hovering above her.
“You misunderstood, baby girl,” His husky voice entered her ears and made her gulp.
“But you didn’t kiss me back, you’ve not changed, Kenneth, you’re still the same jerk who play with people’s -”
“Shut up,” He cut her off with an urgent kiss, sucking the breath out of her.
Jess responded immediately, engaging in a battle of tongues and lips with him, hoping she emerged a winner this time.
