Chapter 208: Chapter 208
Ken sat in his car feeling the saddest he’d ever felt.
He stared at Jess’ door and clenched his head around his steering wheel.
They had almost taken it to the next level, and if he had succeeded in doing it with her, there was no way he wouldn’t have her back to himself if she had just let him pleasure her.
However, some stupid dude called Raymond had other plans.
The moment he wanted to take off her shirt was the same time some Raymond guy called her and told her that he was in front of her house.
Jess had immediately dismissed him, telling him she needed some privacy to speak with Raymond.
What the fuck did she want to discuss with that bastard?
Hebdared make her send him away, in the middle of something very important to him? He’d have to stalk that guy and have a small talk with him; he wouldn’t need any more interruptions when the next h3 was with Jess.
“Damn,” he sighed and drove away from Jess’ house.
As he drove along the street, he got a call from his cousin.
“Hello, Carla?” He answered as he put the phone on speaker.
“Hey, you bad boy, how is the tab I gave you? Did she believe the temperature rise?” Carla’s voice asked through the phone.
Ken chuckled, “Why not? Even I believed it; I almost thought I had a real fever. Not pulling that stunt again though… I did get closer to her,” He replied.
Carla’s chuckle mocked his words, making him frown, “Dear cousin, it seems you didn’t Reay get what you wanted, huh?” She questioned.
“Don’t remind me, please, some dude interrupted with a call. But it’s alright, I’ve got a headstart; I believe it’ll be easier for me from here on,” he told her.
Carla hummed, “Alright then, if you still need my help along the lines, don’t forget to come to me,” She reminded him.
Ken nodded, “Thank you, Carla, bye,” he ended the call.
Ken released a heavy sigh. Yeah, he knew he was doing wrong, tricking a girl to pity him, but that was his only way of getting close to her; she would still asked him to leave her house if he hadn’t faked being sick.
Jess didn’t seem like she wanted anything to do with him, but after their moment on her bed, Ken’s confidence was boosted just the slightest.
He now believed that if he put more effort, he’d get Jess to come back to him; he just needed to be patient and consistent.
He would visit her again, and this time, he knew she’d let him in.

Viktor had met Grandma Nari the day Moon got released, but she refused to let him go with Candy. It had frustrated him, but she asked him to come back the next day, he wasn’t sure if she would release his child to him, but he returned.
Here he was, in her living room, sitting patiently for her to come pit with his daughter.
He didn’t even get to see her yesterday, from what he understood, Grandma Nari was skeptical about his paternity to Candy. He understood why she would feel that way.
Moon had made everyone question everything in the past, so Grandma Nari was right in doubting his genuine interest in his child.
“Viktor, you came,” Grandma Nari walked into the living room with Cadny beside her.
Viktor’s eyes locked on the girl and all he could see was Moon. She was a spitting image of Moon, she was beautiful.
Even though he hated Moon, he wouldn’t hate his child just because she looked like the mother.
“Good afternoon, Grandma, hey little angel,” Vumtor stood and walked over to them.

He hugged Grandma Nari and cautiously lowered himself in front of Candy, “Hi, angel, my name is Viktor, can I get a hug?” He asked softly.
Candy slowly nodded had hugged Viktor.
Viktor was surprised to find himself tearing up, he didn’t know that a simple hug from his little girl would get him emotional. For three years, this was the first time he was holding his child, he cursed Moon a hundred times in his head. She was such a big star for separating a father from his child; nothing was ever going to make him forgive her.
“Viktor, we’re going on a little visit to Moon,” Grandma Nari announced.
Candy immediately turned to look at the old woman, “Am I going to see mummy now?” She asked softly.
Grandma Nari sighed, sharing a look with Viktor. They couldn’t just tell the little girl that they were planning on never letting her close to her. They knew it would be hard on the girl, but it was for her own good; they couldn’t let her stay and grow beside someone as evil as Moon.
“Yes, sweetheart, you’re going to see your mummy, but just for a short while, okay?” Grandma Nari patted her head.
Viktor could see the excitement in Candy’s eyes, and it made him wonder why she would be excited to see that monster. Does it mean that Moon somehow managed to be a good parent to Candy? He doubted it, Moon was incapable of doing right.
“Can I carry you?” He asked Candy.
Candy nodded, “Yes… are you my mummy’s friend?” She looked into his eyes.
“Uh…” Viktor looked up to Grandma Nari for help.
“Yes, he is, Sweetheart, that’s why we’re going to visit her with him, right Viktor?” Grandma Nari asked.
“Yes, yes, I’m your mother’s friend,” He lifted her in his arms and carried her toward the entrance.
Grandma Nari stared at Viktor interacting with Candy; she could tell that Viktor already had a soft spot for Candy, that soft spot a father would have for her daughter.
She already knew Viktor was the father, unlike Aiden, who had no con action with the girl whatsoever. He did try to be a father to her, but coupled with what Moon did to him, that connection was hard to form.
Viktor carried Candy into the backseat of his car and buckled her up. “Sit with Grandma, okay?” He told her, wishing he could just keep her in his lap as he drove.
Candy nodded obediently.
Soon, Viktor was driving along the road; he wasn’t so sure about how he felt going to see Moon again.
Left for him, he’d just take his daughter and leave, but it was Grandma Nari’s idea, she wanted to confirm from Moon that Viktor was really Candy’s father.
Viktor was sure, Ariel had told him that he was the one in the video, and it had made him more furious.
He felt so used, Moon had the mind to make a video of his vulnerable moment just for her selfish interests. After Grandma had confirmed all she wanted, this would be the end of his visit to her.
She clued rot in hell for all she cared.
“Are we there yet?” Candy asked.
“Almost, Angel,” Viktor replied.
“Two more minutes, Sweetheart,” Grandma Nari assured.
And two minutes later, the car pulled up in front of a very small apartment. The neighborhood was loud, and teenagers rode their skates all across the streets; in the distance, Vikotr could see a group of teens doing crack.
Was it even legal?
He sighed and killed the engine; this wasn’t the kind of place he had ever imagined Moon to live in, but he didn’t care.
She was lucky she had a place to stay, if he were Aiden, he’d leave her out in the streets, frustrated and broken.
Her actions were unforgivable, he hated himself for ever wasting his time loving a witch.
“Let’s go, Sweetheart,” Grandma Nari gently spoke to Candy.
Viktor walked out of the car and opened the door for Grandam Nari before going over to carry Candy out of the car.
“Is that Mimmy’s house now?” Candy asked, pointing at the brown house by the side.
Viktor nodded, “I guess, Angel,” ‘She deserves worse,’ he added in his head.
“Go ahead and knock, Viktor,” Grandma Nari suggested.
Viktor sighed and went up the weak deck of Moon’s house.
He wouldn’t even live here for a billion dollars, but here Moon was, living in it for free.
Viktor knocked on the door and immediately heard footsteps from behind it.
Soon, the door was pulled open and Moon stood there, looking like the ghost of herself.
“Mummy!” Candy called excitedly when she saw Moon, raising her arms for Moon to carry her.
“Hi, Baby,” Moon’s shaky voice reached Viktor’s ears as she took Candy to him.
She avoided his gaze, looking only at Candy.
He stared at her with mixed feelings, recalling the last day he had gone to beg for her love, she had so coldly rejected and insulted him. He wondered if they would have been together as a happy couple if she hadn’t sent him away.
She looked like a shadow of herself, pale, weak, malnourished and scared.
A very tiny part of his heart tugged painfully; he was human, after all, and seeing someone you once loved withering away could also take its toll on you.
