Chapter 209: chapter 209
“Please, come in,” Moon whispered and turned away, entering her meager living room.
Viktor looked at Granmda’s Nari, who nodded at him in approval before he sighed and walked into the living room.
Moon’s rugs were turned, the space was just big enough to fit five people, and the air inside the house wasn’t pure; he could even see dust particles flying around from the broken window where the sun streamed into the house.
He watched as Moon carefully placed Candy on one of her chairs, she only had two, and one was already broken.
Viktor and Grandma Nari stood behind the broken chair and observed Moon, she was fucking weak, almost like she needed an infusion.
“We won’t be wasting our time here, Moon, this place isn’t conducive for any human to stay, especially not a child. I’ve just brought Viktor here for you to tell your little girl the truth; it’ll be better if she hears it from you; it’ll help shape her mind to accept the truth,” Grandma Nari said.
Moon sighed and slowly walked over to squat in front of Candy, “Baby, how have you been?” She caressed the little girl’s cheek.
“I’ve been fine, Mummy, when are we going back home?” Candy asked.
Moon looked away and let her tears fall; this time, she understood why everyone had tried to earn her; the regret was too much, the consequences were bearing down on her, and she wanted to escape, any form of escape, even death.
But she couldn’t; each time she tried to, she remembered the little human she’d brought into this world out of her own greed; abandoning her out of fear and cowardliness wasn’t the best option for her as Ariel had told her, she had to live, for her daughter.
Now she saw why everyone loved Ariel, if she was the one in Ariel’s position, she would have ordered Ariel to be killed in prison but, no, Ariel had asked for him to be released, as much as she wanted her to leave with her consequences, she also asked to go live for her child.
And she would do just that.
“Don’t worry, baby, I’ll get us another house -”
“She’ll be staying with me, Moon,” Viktor stepped closer, frowning.
“Is it true, Mummy?” Candy looked from Viktor to Moon.
Moon sniffed and slowly nodded; she wasn’t about to fight over Candy with her real father; she deserved real love.
“Yes, he…he’s your father, Candy, he’ll take care of you,” Moon replied.
Viktor felt a kind of satisfaction hearing Moon tell Candy that. He was glad Grandma Nari heard it too; now, Candy wouldn’t doubt his love, and he could freely love her in the way he’d been dying to.
“Good job, Moon, now, we have to go,” Grandma Nari announced.
“Does it mean I have two Daddies, Mummy?” Candy’s innocent voice rang out in utter confusion.
Moon felt ashamed of herself; she was making her small child question her origin shameful.
“I’m sorry, Candy, Aiden was just your uncle, Viktor is your real Daddy, okay? He’ll love you more than anyone in the world could; he’s a good man, baby; you’ll love him,” She patted Candy’s head and stood, facing Viktor.
“Are you my Daddy for real?” Candy asked.
The little girl was confused; the first person, who was his father, didn’t really give her all the attention she wanted; he did provide her with more than she could need; he let her visit him there and then, but she just felt like he didn’t want her beside him.
But this new Daddy was different; he seemed like he wanted her like he was ready to be her playmate.
Viktor walked past Moon and went to Candy, “Yes, Angel, I’m your Daddy, and can you guess what?” He asked as he carried her from the chair.
Candy shook her head, “What?” She stared into his eyes.
“You’ve just got yourself the coolest Daddy in the whole world,” He winked at her.
Candy’s face brightened up immediately; she could already see that her new Daddy was a playful person, and she couldn’t wait to get to know him better.
“I love you, Daddy,” She hugged Viktor’s neck.

Viktor blinked slowly; that was the best ‘I love you’ he’d ever gotten his entire life; the hug was the softest and warmest, too; he would never get tired of hearing her say it.
“I love you, too,” he kissed her cheek.
“Do you love Mummy, too?” Candy suddenly asked.
Viktor forgot that toddlers were little minions; they’d set you up for free and act like they did nothing.
“Um-”
“It’s to go, Candy; we have to get your things ready to move in with your Daddy,” Grandma intervened in the awkward atmosphere.
Viktor sighed in relief, “Yeah, let’s go, Angel,” He smiled.
“Wait,” Moon suddenly grabbed Viktor’s arm as he carried Candy away from her.
Viktor shut his eyes and took a deep breath; he knew the with would want to speak to him now that she had no one beside her.
“Can you wait in the ace with Grandma?” Viktor asked Candy.
Candy nodded and let Viktor drop her to the floor, “Bye, Mummy, I’ll see you later, right?” She looked up at Moon.
Moon nodded, forcing a smile on her face. “Yes, honey, you will,” She assured.
Candy waved and excitedly ran outside to Grandma Nari.
“Viktor…” Moon called quietly.
Viktor smirked as he looked at her, “You look dead,” He commented.
Moon nodded, “Thank you, that’s the best compliment I’ve gotten so far,” She smiled sadly.
Viktor’s smirk dropped, “I see,” He wondered what people had told her to make her take his blatantly bad comment as praise. He shrugged and raised a brow at her, “What did you want to say? I need to leave,” He asked.
“Um, I… I know it’s too late and it means nothing to you, but I want to tell you that I’m sorry for everything I’ve done to you… I’ve always known you were the only person who truly love… loved me, yet I took you for granted,” She said quietly, staring into his eyes.
Viktor scoffed, “I’m glad you know it’s too late, your words mean nothing to me, Moon. All I’m asking is that you stay away from me and my child. I’m going to file for custody, and I don’t mean to let you see her when she turns eighteen; I mean you’re never going to come close to her for the rest of your life, understood?” Je asked, frowning.
Moon sighed, “I understand, it’s better that way, I don’t even trust myself with her anymore… I guess I should have seen a psychiatrist when Auden asked me to,” Her voice cracked as she replied.
Viktor didn’t respond; he stared at her for a while, turned, and left the house.
He was done with her. She could take care of herself, she was no kid.
If she could do all that evil, she could as well put all her strength into making her life better.
He reached the car and made sure that Candy was properly strapped before he got in the car and drove away from Moon’s noisy street.
He was looking forward to spending more time with his daughter, he was already loving being a father.

“Come, Jace, let Mummy see the doctor,” Aiden held Jace’s hand, who wanted to follow his mother inside the examination room.
They were two months already, and Ariel hadn’t gotten a baby bump yet, but Aiden was so eager for her to get it.
He couldn’t wait to run his hand over it and speak to his princess. Jace, too, hoped it was a girl; he had already started making plans for how he was going to live his life with her.
Ariel opened the door and peeked her head out of the door.
“Do you need something, Baby?” Aiden asked the moment he saw Ariel.
Ariel shook her head, “I just need you both in here,” She smiled.
Aiden and Jace shared a look, “We can come?” Jace asked.
Ariel chuckled and nodded, “Come on, it’s just a routine check,” She opened the door wider.
“Come on, buddy,” Aiden excitedly lifted Jace in his arms and carried him inside the room.
“Please have a seat, Boss. Hi, JJ, happy to be in the hospital?” Carla asked Jace who was staring at the medical machines beside the bed Ariel was lying on.
“Yes, Carla, what does this do?” He asked curiously.
Aiden sat beside Ariel’s bed and held her hand, looking at her face.
“It’s a Doppler fetal monitor, and this is a probe. We’re going to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. Are you ready?” Carla asked.
Jace nodded excitedly, “Yes, I’m ready, Daddy is ready, too,” he announced.
Carla chuckled, “Alright, young doc, help me spread this on Mummy’s exposed tummy, can you do that?” Carla handed Jace a tub.
“Yes, I can,” He took the opened tune from her and knelt on Aiden’s lap, gently pressing it over Ariel’s lower abdomen.
“Does it hurt, Mummy?” He stared atbher face to see he reaction.
Ariel shook her head, “No, honey, it feels so cool, I like it,” She replied, smiling at him.
Jace nodded, returning the gel to Carla.
“Thank you, young doc, now sit and listen,” She patted his head.
“Good job, kiddo,” Aiden whispered, kissing his head.
His hand on Ariel’s hand tightened as Carla lowered the probe to Ariel’s tummy.
He couldnand ‘t explain why he was feeling anxious and scared.
Soon, he lovked eyes with Ariel heard the heartbeat from the machine, a wide smile spreading across his face.
“I heart it!” Jace chuckled excitedly, pointing at Ariel’s tummy, “Hi, little sister!” Jace couldn’t contain his joy.
Aiden was already tearing up behind Jace, he couldn’t believe it, he was really having another child, Ariel was giving him another child. If someone told him that this would be him when he hadn’t met Ariel, he would never had believed the person.
Now, he was married to the best woman, and she was bringing him the best children.
Ariel was all smiles, seeing her husband and child excited over their baby’s heartbeat.
“Well, young doc, this isn’t a gender check, but you might want to say Hi to the other sister,” Carla said, smiling.
Ariel and Aiden paused, they looked at Carla in confusion, “What do you mean, the other sister?” Aiden questioned slowly, his mind failing to comprehend.
Carla chuckled, “It’s double heartbeat, Boss, you’re having twins,” She winked at Jace, who seemed to be the happiest as he kept jumping in Aiden’s laps.
“Hi, baby sisters!” He leaned in and placed his hand on Ariel’s tummy.
Aiden and Ariel slowly started to smile, they were still shocked, but their excitement were overriding their shock.
They were having twins!
