Chapter 214: Chapter 214
Jess woke up in an unfamiliar room; her instinct immediately kicked in, causing her to sit up and look down at herself, signing in relief when she saw that her dress was still intact.
She winced from her slight headache, frowning as she quickly shifted herself to the edge of the bed and slid her legs down.
She was confused for a moment about her location, but not until a familiar scent reached her nose; she narrowed her eyes and walked closer to the large wardrobe at the corner of the room.
She opened it and as she suspected, she saw a few of Ken’s clothes.
She quickly closed it and looked around the room, listening in for any sound in the bathroom or outside the door.
Jess moved quietly over to the door and placed a hand over the handle, she took a deep breath before pulling it open, just for her to step back in shock.
“Leaving?” Ken stood shirtless in front of his door, smiling at Jess.
Jess looked away from his chest and focused on his face, “Why did you bring me to your house,” She questioned.
Ken sighed and slowly walked into his room. He stood in front of her and reached out his hand to touch her but she stepped back.
“I’m sorry for bringing you to my place, I just wanted you close to me, Jessica,” Ken replied honestly.
He could have said it was because he wouldn’t know where to find her keys, or because his house was on the way, but he didn’t; he wanted her to know the truth, which was that he needed her beside him.
Jess sighed, “I appreciated your help, Kenneth, but next time, just leave me, I’d have preferred to sleep out in the gar-”
“You looked stunning last night,” He cut her off and walked closer to her, gently holding her hand, “I couldn’t get me off you, Jessica; even now, I’m fighting my demons to stop me from…” He trailed off as he raised his hand and caressed Jess’ exposed shoulder, sucking in a quiet breath.
Jess shuddered a little, “Rachel wouldn’t like this,” She held Ken’s hand and lowered it to his side.
Ken paused, he’d completely forgotten about that pest that was ruining his evening last night.
He looked at Jess’ face and said, “I promise, Jessica, she’s not my girlfriend, I told her I was already interested in someone… in you, but she wouldn’t listen, I have nothing to do with her, Jessica,” He moved to hold her and was surprised that Jess let him.
His heart was pounding in his chest when he saw that Jess was staring up at him with unreadable eyes, “I need you to believe me, Jessica, ever since you left, I’ve never touched any other woman; I couldn’t even if I tried… I didn’t try though. I realized that I’d lost the best person for me, the only woman I’ve ever loved…” He covered the space between and leaned his face closer to Jess, “I love you, Jessica,” He confessed and waited for a second before he kissed her lips.
Jess felt her whole body shake with Ken’s confession, she felt boneless as his lips slowly sucked on hers, her heart was thumping loudly in her chest, and her brain was trying to shut down all her reasons.
These were the words she craved to hear from Ken in the past, but he refused her hidden words, knowing fully well that those were what she had wanted to hear from him.
However, she had believed that she no longer needed those words from him, but after hearing them from him, the way her body and soul reacted was hard-core evidence that she still needed to hear them from him.
Ken raised his fave and stared down at her face, she hadn’t kissed him back, and he was starting to feel anxious.
“I-I’m not asking you to love me back right away, Jessica, all I’m asking is that you stop pushing me away from you, I’ve hurt you so much in the past, and no matter how long it’ll take you to let me back into your heart, I’m willing to wait, I’ve waited for three years, waiting some more wouldn’t hurt, it would hurt emotionally, but I’m willing to wait, please, just don’t push me away,” He whispered close to her face, his hand tightening around her waist.
“Oh, Ken, that wasn’t that hard, was it,” Jess placed her hands on Ken’s face, tipping her toes to get closer to his face, “You should have said it when I needed it, Ken, it’s too late now… my feelings for you, they’re gone. I want nothing with you, I don’t even want to be seen with you as a friend, Ken. I’d be betraying myself by loving you; please, stop interfering in my life, take your love and stick it up your fucking ass, or up Rachel’s ass, I don’t care. Fuck you, Ken, I’d rather stand in front of a moving train than let myself love you again,” She whispered very softly and pressed her lips to his, kissing him, her tongue pushing past his sweet lips.
Ken was flabbergasted yet he kissed her back. He didn’t know what to think with her actions compromising the heartbreaking words she’d just said to him.
Their breathing was getting ragged with how urgently they kissed each other, and just when Ken wanted to lift her off the floor, she stepped back, panting.
Ken’s eyes were glazed over with lust as he stared at Jess’ red cheeks, “Jessica,” He called huskily.
Jess smirked, “This is the only thing we can ever have between us, Kenneth: lust. Trust me, we don’t love each other; we’re just two hirny adults who find each other attractive. Don’t confuse lust with love; they almost feel the same way,” She smiled at him and turned to look for something.
She found her shoes beside the bed and picked them up, “As I said, stay the fuck away from me, Kenneth; I don’t want to be in lust with you either,” She looked away from him as she walked out of the room.
As she left the room, Ken felt a certain kind of pain wrap up his heart. He felt rejected and unwanted. This must be how she felt in the past.
He was starting to question himself as a human, was he not good enough for anyone?

Every woman he’d liked never wanted to get involved romantically with him, was he really that bad?
He was hurt by Jess’ words and actions; she had kissed him so passionately and said those cruel things to him; maybe she was really over him; maybe he should just give her the space she wanted.
Nah, not happening.
He was the one who made her stop believing in love, and he was going to be the reason she loved again, and she was going to love only him.

Jess was surprised to find Jewel in front of her house, looking like there was a customized many clouds above his head.
She walked up to him and raised a brow while speaking.
“Nothing serious, we were both drunk, and it’s not that deep; I just sucked him off, and then he proceeded to push me away. The jerk realized he wasn’t gay when he was pouring his -”
“Okay, okay, okay, stop… we’ll stop here for now, come in; I think we both need some relaxation; you can tell me all about it in detail when there’s enough food in our rummy,” She pushed Jewel inside the house.
“Damn, Jewel, do you have to be so descriptive?” She questioned as she walked into her room.
“I just want you to see the whole picture and realize that I wasn’t the bad person, it was him. Jes a jerk, an idiot, and a fool who can’t recognize his own feelings, I clearly like him, and he fucking knows it, but he just pays a blind eye to my feelings and blames it on the alcohol and his stupid sexuality, from what I’ve seen, that’s motherfucker is gay as fuck, so why can’t he just let me in?” Jewel was tracing his fingers along the back of the sofa as he vented.
Jess was quiet; she stood in front of her room and analyzed Jewel’s words; in her and Ken’s case, she would be the guy Jewel was talking about, and Ken would be Jewel… was this how Ken was by her rejection?
Whatever she’d been on that table brand, she survived, and he’d survive too, just as she was going to make Jewel survive.
“Who’s the dude?” She questioned.
“I’m not telling, he feels insecure about his attraction to a man, so I wouldn’t expose him when he isn’t ready yet, and yes, you do know him quite well, but that’s all I can say,” Jewel shook his head.
“Fine, then let him stay anonymous forever,” She walked toward him, an evil smirk on her face, “Get ready, Cutie, tonight, we’re getting some actions, and it’s not from those jerks in our lives, we’re going wild, are you in?” She stretched out her hand to him.
Jewel sighed, hesitating for a while. Gideon’s face flashed through his mind, and he immediately shook Jewel’s hand, “I’m in,” He smirked.
