Chapter 34: Chapter 34 Chapter 34: Chapter 34 Ariel noticed Aiden and Ken share a secret look before facing Viktor.
“Viktor, what a surprise to see you,” Ken went over and gave him a happy side hug.
Aiden’s face had a little smile as he shook Viktor’s hand.
“Welcome, Viktor,” his eyes narrowed playfully, conveying a secret message.
Viktor chuckled, shaking his head, he looked over at Ariel and squinted his eyes, “Who’s this gorgeous lady?” He asked and walked over to Ariel, stretching his hand out to her.
Ariel was still staring at his face; she was really captivated by his features; he was the kind of face you saw once but never forgot.
She politely placed her hand on his, giving him a small smile.
“Hi,” She greeted softly.
“Hello, I’m Viktor, and I’d just like to say that you’re very beautiful,” Viktor commented, slowly running his eyes over Ariel.
Aiden and Ken shared another look, a look of discomfort.
They didn’t like the way Viktor was checking Ariel out.
“Thank you, Viktor,” Ariel smiled.
Moon was beside Aiden, still shocked by Viktor’s presence, and she also felt herself hating Ariel more, she knew she had said that she now liked Ariel, but that was a lie.
She didn’t want her anywhere near her; she saw that Ariel could make herself the center of attraction without even trying, and it annoyed her to the core.
“Viktor,” Moon called softly.
Viktor gave Ariel one last smile before he slowly turned to face Moon.
“Oh, hello, ex-fiancée,” Viktor raised a nonchalant brown at Moon, staring right into her eyes.
Ariel’s eyes widened in shock.
Ex fiancée?
What was really this Moon’s backstory?
She just waltzs into their lives and wants to take charge.
Moon subtly looked over at Ariel and Aiden, wishing they didn’t hear what Viktor had said, but the look on their faces showed that they heard him well.
“Wow, Moon, you never told us about your engagement to our friend, Viktor; why, though?” Ken asked, his brows raised mockingly.
Aiden slowly shook his head at Ken, signaling him to let the matter go.
“Oh, she didn’t?
But I did anyway, right, Aiden?” Viktor looked over at Aiden with a smirk, then he gave Moon an unsettling smile.
Moon froze, she slowly blinked her eyes at Viktor, then cautiously to Aiden.
“Aiden?
You knew I had a fiancé?
W-why didn’t you say something?” Aiden sighed, “Yes, I knew, Moon, Ken too, but it was none of our business what you did with your life,” Aiden explained.

He stared at Ariel, feeling the need to suddenly hold her; he felt like they’d gone so long without bickering with each other and touching each other.
He was starting to realize that that had become their normal lifestyle; bicker, steal touches, make out.
He wished they could go back to the house already.
Ariel felt Aiden’s gaze on her and looked up at him, the moment their eyes locked, it felt like everything disappeared, they shared an unconscious look of longing for each other, and their bodies recognized each other as the perfect match for themselves, but, yet, they stood apart, with someone else by their sides.
Was life supposed to be that hard?
Why can’t they realize their feelings for each other and just be with each other?
Why must they have to go through all the stress and drama and face an uncertain future between them?
Ariel slowly moved her eyes away, looking down at her feet.
She could still feel Aiden’s gaze on her, and it made her feel hotter than the sun made her feel.
Ken saw the way Moon was looking at Aiden as if he was her lover who had just caught her cheating, he cleared his throat to get her attention before speaking, “Don’t worry, Moon, we all know the dynamics of relationships, you of all people should know better, I mean, given the number of relationships you have to destroy-” “Grandma would be angry, let’s go,” Aiden interrupted Ken and quickly led Moon away.
He knew what Ken wanted to say, but he didn’t want an awkward atmosphere at the moment; both of them could settle their differences later, but he didn’t just want anything that would affect his grandma’s plans.
“Let’s go,” Ken turned to Ariel and took her hand, leading her to follow behind Aiden and Moon.
“Nice seeing you again, Ken, never knew you could love again…after Nisa,” Viktor spoke up as he walked beside them.
Ken sighed, shaking his head at him.
“Well, you’re wrong, but, it’s not what you think, yet…” Ken replied.
Viktor frowned, looking over at Ariel who was quiet, seemingly lost in her own world.
“Oh, you’re still doing the chase, I see,” Viktor chuckled.
“Something like that,” Ken smiled at Ariel.
“Can I tell him about you and Aiden?” Ken whispered into Ariel’s ear as they passed the area with the Ferris wheels.
The place was a little crowded, so he had to hold onto her hand tightly as he pushed through the crowd.
“You already told Moon, what’s the difference?” Ariel replied seriously.
Ken sighed heavily; he knew he had done a little too much by exposing their relationship; it was really not his place to do so, but he had his reason.
“Seems like you fucked up, Ken,” Viktor subtly leaned to the side and whispered to Ken.
Ken shrugged him away and moved closer to Arile.
“Ariel, I’m sorry for doing that without your permission.
I know it was wrong, but it was just part of an impulse to protect you,” He explained.
Ariel frowned, how was exposing her relationship with Aiden going to protect her?
“What do mean?” She questioned They were nearing a big tent that had Grandma Nari and Aiden inside it; Moon could be seen smiling at a young woman in a discussion.
“Yes, Ariel, I noticed the hostility Moon had towards you out of her jealousy, so I wanted to let her know that you were not a hindrance to her in her pursuit of Aiden, that way, she would take you out of her target lists, trust me, Moon can be very impulsive, and I don’t want anything happening to you just because you’re standing at the center of a love triangle,” Ken narrated gently.
Ariel was quiet, what Ken said made a lot of good sense.
She never knew someone would notice the way Moon looked at her as if she had offended her in a previous life.
“I understand, Ken, thank you.
Actually, I never knew anyone would notice; thank you,” Ariel smiled up at him.
She wasn’t angry anymore, now she knew the reason, she couldn’t help but realize that Ken was very attentive toward her.
Such a gentleman.
“So, what’s the tea?” Viktor asked.
“She’s Aiden’s wife,” Ken informed.
“What?!” Viktor asked too loudly, causing a few heads to turn to them.
Ken glared at Viktor, frowning at him.
Ariel found him to be funny, liking his carefree personality.
Ken was carefree too, but Viktor just seemed more carefree than him.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry, but Aiden’s wife?
When did this happen?
And why aren’t they together?
It almost looked like you were the husband,” Viktor mused.
“It’s complicated,” Ken replied.
“It’s really not that complicated.
Mr.
Chaz and I are just in a contractual marriage; it’ll end soon,” Ariel informed.
Viktor slowly walked over to Ariel, “So, you don’t love him?” He whispered.
Ariel shook her head, “I don’t love him.” She replied without thinking.
“Ahh, I get it now,” Viktor murmured, giving Ken and Ariel a suspicious look.
Ariel saw the look Viktor was giving her and knew that he had somehow understood Ken’s intention towards her.
“Just ignore her, okay?” Viktor told Ariel as they entered the tent.
Ken held her hand tightly, not planning to let her go.
Aiden saw them walk into the tent and immediately locked his eyes on his target, Ariel.
Ken had his hand intertwined with Ariel’s, looking at her with a love sparkle in his eyes, the way he had never looked at her, maybe he should just let them be, it was not as if he loved her, so why should he fight for her when he knew he could not offer her the love she wanted?
Ariel walked over to Grandma Nari who had waved her over.
“You remember Lin, right?” Grandma Nari asked, pointing at the young lady beside her.
Ariel looked at the person beside Grandma Nari and discovered that it was the lady doctor who had attended to her the day she was kidnapped, and she was the one Moon had been chatting with.
She could feel Moon’s hateful glare from the side.
But just like Viktor advised, she ignored her.
“Yes, Grandma.
Hello Doc.
Lin, nice to see you again,” She offered her a hand but Lin drew her to herself and hugged her tightly.
“Come on, we’re family now, call me Lin,” Lin smiled at Ariel.
Ariel smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes, “Alright, Lin,” She nodded at her.
She didn’t want to get too attached to anyone from the Chaz family; her marriage with Aiden would soon be over, and she needed to maintain her distance so that she wouldn’t feel heartbroken when leaving because of the attachments she might have formed with them.
“I’m so so sorry, everyone, I was caught up with something; I’m sorry, Grandma.
Hi Moon, Welcome home,” Jess ran hurriedly into the tent and hugged Grandma Nari before briefly hugging Moon.
“Alright, everyone, now that we’re complete, I’ve called us all here to welcome my adopted granddaughter, Moon,” Grandma Nari turned to Moon, a soft smile on her face.
Everyone was clapping, smiling at the blushing Moon.
Ariel stood unmoving in her spot, looking at everyone going forward to give Moon a welcome hug.
‘Adopted daughter?
So that means she is Aiden’s adopted sister, then…why was she obsessed with Aiden?
As if they were lovers?’ Ariel thought to herself.
Something didn’t add up, she must have missed a big piece of information.
