Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Moon was troubled as Ariel seriously followed her behind toward her car.
She didn’t understand why Ariel would offer to ride with her when she should be afraid of her.
Was she trying to get closer so she could beg her to leave her alone?
If so, then Ariel would just be a funny lady.
She would never let Ariel get close to her; an enemy can never be let near her.
She unlocked her car and threw the stuff she was carrying in her hands into the backseat, then she proceeded to open the front door.
Ariel was at the other side of the car in the next second; she opened the front door and carefully got into the car.
Moon saw that and clenched her fists.
She wasn’t going to let that daft girl feel she had the right to sit in her car.
She was about to enter the car when Ken’s car slowed down beside hers.
Ken slowly winded down his window and looked at Moon.
“Please, drive carefully, I don’t want her getting into another careless accident,” he informed her and drove off immediately.
“What an idiot,” Moon muttered.
Did Ken think she would want to hurt herself too?
If only she had a way to get into an accident with the car and not get hurt with Ariel, then she would have done so.
But she’s not that stupid to hurt herself in the process of trying to kill some dumb bitch.
She gritted her teeth and entered the car.
Ariel was quiet, her seatbelt fastened as she looked ahead, not sparing Moon a single glance.
The car started and Moon drove out of the hospital.
Ariel looked out of the window, the street was kind of less busy as it was a hospital area, but as they drove out of that area, she started to see people and cars going about their lives.
She wondered what it would have felt like to just have a normal life free of drama and Aiden.
Have a stable job and a happy family…just like the rest.
But her reality was different; she was faced with a lot of life’s trials, testing her limits every day.
She sighed and continued to look out of the window.
Ariel knew that Moon would be thinking that she had planned to discuss Aiden with her during the ride, but she would be wrong if she thought so.
She had just wanted to ride with her so she could escape Aiden and Ken.
She knew the tension inside that car could cut a diamond, and she didn’t want to be at the center of it.
“What do you think you’re doing, Ariel?” Moon finally asked after she couldn’t stand the unnerving silence.
She was curious to know what was going on in Ariel’s mind.
Ariel turned away from the window and looked at Moon.

“Huh?
What do you mean?” She asked innocently.
Moon gripped the steering wheel tightly.
“Don’t try to irritate me, bitch, tell me why you’re in my car,” Moon spat venomously.
There was no need to act nice since it was just the both of them in her car.
“Oh, that, I just want a ride back home,” Ariel replied.
“Shut up!” Moon suddenly marched the brakes.
Ariel quickly held the dashboard as she was pushed by the sudden braking of the car.
She sighed and looked at Moon, “What are you doing?” Ariel asked Moon with a frown.
Moon removed her seatbelt and angrily leaned toward Ariel.
“Listen to me carefully, Ariel.
Firstly, Aiden’s home is not your home and never will be,” She mocked.
“And, in case you’ve not noticed, I love Aiden, and he loves me too.
If you ever think you could come between us, then, you’re terribly wrong,” Moon enunciated each word, glaring at Ariel with angry eyes.
Ariel smiled, “I don’t know about you loving him, but I’m very sure he doesn’t love you, Moon.
You’re only an adopted little sister to him,” her voice was so relaxed as she leaned back against the chair.
Moon’s face was masked with shock, “You…how did you…you know what, it’s good you found out I’m only an adopted sister and not his real sister.
I’m sure you know what that means, Ariel.
I will have Aiden married to me,” She pushed her face closer to Ariel’s, scornfully staring at her.
“I’m the only one who could love him rightly, I know his demons more than anyone.
This is my last warning, Ariel, trust me, I don’t hold back till I get what I want.
And anything that gets in my way must be eliminated, did you understand?
Eliminated.” Moon narrowed her eyes at Ariel and then returned to her seat and sped the car off.
*** In Ken’s car, Aiden was seated calmly beside Ken, none of them had said anything to each other since they left the hospital.
Ken was trying to find a way to bring Ariel’s matter up to Aiden, but Aiden’s quietness was making it hard for him to bring it up.
“How are you feeling, Aiden?” Ken finally broke the silence in the car.
Aiden chuckled, and then slowly turned his face to Ken.
“Is that what you really want to ask, Ken?” He questioned lowly.
Ken sighed, “It’s part of what I want to ask, Aiden.
In the end, we’re still friends.” Aiden scoffed, shaking his head.
“Friends don’t kiss each other’s wives, Ken, in front of the said friend too,” He reminded with a serious voice.
Ken bit his lips, he saw this coming.
“Come on, Ken, we’ve been friends for twenty-seven years, we know each other more than we should,” Aiden chuckled again.
Ken nodded, “Exactly, Aiden, it’s because I know you that I’m confused, I don’t understand you anymore, and I only have one question to ask you,” He said, pausing at a red light.
“No need, Ken.
I’ll just inform you as a friend to stay away from my wife.
Ariel is still married to me, which means you have no right to flirt with her or even kiss her…” He paused and thought back to how Ken had wrapped his arms around Ariel’s waist; his chest suddenly felt tighter and he clenched his fists to keep his face neutral and not show jealousy.
“Just, stay away from her, Ken.
For as long as I’m married to her,” Aiden informed.
Ken shook his head and looked at Aiden.
“This is exactly what I’m talking about.
Do you love her?” He asked.
Aiden frowned.
“Whether I love her or not is none of your business, we don’t need you coming between us, Ken.
She’s my wife and that’s all you need to know.” “It’s my business, Aiden, you gave me that permission when you confirmed you didn’t have feelings for Ariel.
But now, your actions contradict your actions…” Ken spoke and drove as the light turned green.
“Your words insinuate that you don’t love her, yet, your actions are forcing me to believe you do.
I might be wrong, Aiden, but I think you’re becoming possessive toward Ariel.
I just want to be sure of what is going on.
I gave you my words, Aiden.
If you ever start to love Ariel, I will step back from her; I can’t fight you over a woman,” Ken explained calmly.
“If not…
I don’t see any reason why I can’t try to win the heart of a girl I love,” Ken informed.
Aiden slowly tapped his foot on the floor of the car; once again, Ken made sense, making him look like the unreasonable one.
Aiden remained quiet, lost in thought.
The car soon drove into Aiden’s gate, and Ken parked the car in the open garage.
“I don’t owe you any explanations about my life, or about my relationship with my wife.
Stay away from Ariel,” Aiden coldly informed Ken before he opened the car and left.
He walked into his house, feeling like he should have said more to Ken, like telling him how he truly felt about Ariel.
But he didn’t, he couldn’t.
He wanted to make sure Ariel felt the same way before he could tell it to any other person.
“Oh my God, Mr.
Chaz!
How are you feeling?!
Thank God you’re alive.
I almost fainted when Gregory told me what happened to you, how are you feeling?” Anna rushed toward Aiden as she stood in the middle of the living room.
“Welcome home, boss,” Gregory bowed politely.
Other servants stood behind Anna, happy to see their master back home and safe.
“I’m alright, Anna, thanks for caring.
Just do me one tiny favor,” Aiden asked calmly.
“Anything you want, Mr.
Chaz,” Anna nodded enthusiastically.
“Make me a good chicken soup,” Aiden informed, raising his brows.
Anna smiled happily, “Sure, I can do that, Sir, anything else?” She questioned.
Aiden shook his head, “That’d be all for now.” He replied and started walking toward the stairs.
“Mr.
Chaz,” A maid suddenly called to him, timidly walking toward him.
Aiden frowned and looked back, “What’s the problem, Helen?” He questioned his cleaner.
Helen kept her head lowered before speaking, “About the madam, I have something I want to say about her-” “She’s fine, Helen,” He cut her off and started walking up the stairs.
“No-no, Mr.
Chaz, that’s not it.
Someone’s planning to kidnap her!” Helen blurted out.
Aiden instantly paused his steps and turned to look at his maid.
“What did you just say?” He asked darkly.
