Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Ariel watched as Collin carried her drink back to their table.
“Here’s your cocktail, M’lady,” Collin placed the drink in front of Ariel.
“Thank you, Collin – oh…” She was about to pick up her drink when a hand went above her head and took the drink away before she could touch it.
She was about to turn her back and see who the person was, but Collin made it easy for her.
“Ah, Mr.
Chaz, I didn’t know you were a fan of fruit cocktails, but, that one’s for this beautiful lady here,” Collin was smiling brightly at the man behind Ariel.
Ariel didn’t move in her chair; she kept her hands on her lap, feeling a little nervous.
But why was she feeling nervous?
Aiden was her husband, and she had just shared a shower with him before she left the house, but each time he was beside her, she always failed to get her nerves together.
“I’ll have to drink this one, Collin,” Aiden walked over to stand in front of Ariel, “Since my secretary is allergic to pineapple.
There’s pineapple right?” He sniffed the juice and frowned.
Collin looked alarmed, “Oh my God, yes there is.
I’m so sorry, Ariel, I never knew you were allergic to pineapple; damn, I almost hurt you,” He apologized, looking so scared for what he thought would have happened if Aiden never showed up.
Ariel was confused; when did she become allergic to pineapple?
She loved it!
What was Aiden talking about?
She looked up at Aiden and watched him watch her as he slowly raised the glass to his lips, and before he drank it, he gave her a secret smirk and proceeded to drink up the whole cocktail juice.
“Thank you, Collin, it was a nice cocktail,” Aiden had just placed the glass down on the table when soft instrumental music started to play in the background, followed by the MC’s voice.
“Everyone, this is time to sway the stress away; after completing a huge project, you all deserve some loving, now, grab your friends and dance away the stress!” A loud cheering came from the crowd and people were immediately moving to the center with their partners.
Ariel immediately felt cornered; she could feel the eyes of both men on her, and she didn’t want to dance with Collin; how was she going to go about this tonight?
She suddenly saw a shadow moving toward them and immediately stood.
She almost fell, but Aiden was quick to catch her in his arms.
“Dumb,” he commented and gently righted her to stand on her feet.
Actually, Ariel had purposely fallen toward Aiden.
She had seen Eva walking them, and she knew Eva was bold enough to ask Aiden to dance with her.
Sitting and watching Eva in Aiden’s arms was something she never wanted to witness, so she devised a means to get in his arms quickly and naturally.
“Careful, M’lady.
Um, I was wondering-” “Do you really want to ask that, Collin?” Aiden held Ariel’s waist and drew her to himself.
“Ah, well, I didn’t hear you ask her to dance with you, and I thought you wouldn’t want to dance with her since she’s your employee,” Collin explained.
Ariel was quietly standing next to Aiden.

She felt awkward, but she was determined to get through this; instead of Eva dancing with Aiden, she didn’t mind exposing their relationship that night.
Aiden was about to reply to Collin, but Ariel beat him to it.
“I’ll dance with him, Collin; you know, it’s not every day that the boss is in a good mood; this might be my only chance to get close to him,” Ariel smiled playfully at Collin.
Collin nodded, “Ah, right, I get you, I’ll wait then.
Whenever you’re done, I’ll be sitting right here for my turn,” He replied and lowered himself on one of the chairs.
Ariel nodded at him and hooked her arm on Aiden’s arm, “Let’s go, Mr.
Chaz,” Aiden nodded and slowly turned away from Collin; he took two steps and paused; he turned his head to Collin and said, “Don’t wait, Collin, she’s mine for the night,” he smirked at Collin before leading Ariel away.
Ariel was dumbfounded.
They reached the dance floor and Aiden couldn’t help but notice the way Ariel’s face was, “What, sad that your boyfriend got turned down?” Aiden asked as he slowly placed his hand on her waist.
“Huh, no, it’s not that,” She replied.
Aiden frowned, “So, he is your boyfriend, you’re not even denying it,” He accused, placing her hands on his shoulders.
Ariel snapped her eyes up to his face, “Wh…
no, not that, I meant, he’s not my boyfriend, and I was looking like that because of what you said to him,” Ariel felt herself moving slowly in his arms, they were now slow dancing and without looking, she knew that all eyes were on them.
“What I said?
That you’re mine all night?” He whispered beside her face.
Ariel gulped and nodded; she couldn’t tell if Aiden was still aware that they were in public; the way he was holding her and getting close to her would surely give people a topic to discuss.
“And, are you not?
Mine?” His voice was damn sexy as he asked her.
He turned her around and brought her back to his arms; Ariel’s ears and cheeks were red, and Aiden wasn’t slowing down that night; wasn’t he the one giving her the cold treatment at home?
“Answer me, or I’ll kiss you, Ariel,” Aiden warned.
Ariel gasped, “No, I’m yours, only yours,” She hid her face away from him.
“You replied so fast, does it mean you don’t want me to kiss you?
You don’t want Collin seeing it, right?” Aiden asked, frowning.
Ariel sighed, “No, Aiden, you’re overthinking this, it’s just…” The music stopped playing and everyone bowed to their partner.
Aiden moved away from her and did a little bow, “You should know, Ariel, I’m a jealous man, forgive me if my jealousy gets the best of me sometimes, but, if what you need is some space to hang out with other men, then, you’re free,” He said quietly and left, walking toward the elevator.
Ariel sighed, how did they end up here?
“Ah, just as I thought, it was just a dance.
But aren’t you ashamed, Ariel?
You’re already married to some disabled man; why are you still trying hard to seduce Mr.
Chaz?
You slut,” Eva glares at Ariel.
Ariel looked at her and immediately remembered what Abbey had told them at the barn.
She knew Eva was involved too, there was no way Catherine would plan evil without her evil daughter.
“You’re silent, huh?
You’re lucky people are all around us; I would have slapped that stupid mouth of yours,” Eva looked at Ariel from head to toe, her eyes suddenly narrowed as she took in the dress she was putting on.
“No way, this is my dress,” Eva pointed at Ariel.
Ariel sighed and decided to walk away; she wasn’t in the mood for imbeciles.
However, Eva grabbed her hand before she could step a foot, “You thief, how…how did you get this dress?
It’s the only one in the whole country and it’s just been produced, do you know how much it is, do you know how long I’ve been saving to go purchase it?
Who did you steal from?
Answer me!” He shook Ariel’s arm.
Ariel narrowed her eyes at Eva, “Don’t cry, dear sister, it only means I’m richer than you.
Now, let me go before you cause a scene,” Ariel whispered, smirking at her.
Eva’s face turned ugly, “You bastard!
Richer than who?” She was about to raise her hand and slap Ariel but she suddenly spotted Aiden coming toward them and immediately hugged Ariel.
“Oh, you look so beautiful, bestie.
Look how stunning the dress is,” She was hugging a surprised Ariel, but behind her, she was smiling at Aiden.
Ariel didn’t understand what was going on until she saw Aiden walk past them.
He was still angry at her so he didn’t speak to her.
“What a waste of time, get off me, he didn’t even look at you once,” Eva glared at Ariel before she bumped her shoulder and walked away.
“Eva,” Ariel called, halting Eva’s footsteps.
Eva frowned and slowly turned to Ariel, “Want to confess how you stole the money for the dress?” Ariel was going to ignore Eva and just walk away, but she needed to give her a heads-up, “I saw our dear mother, and, it looked like she was plotting evil as usual, I don’t know because I didn’t get close to her, but from the looks of things, she seemed to be planning on how to poison Mr.
Chaz, she wants to kill your future husband,” Ariel whispered and winked at Eva before walking away.
Eva stood frozen; her left eye was twitching uncontrollably.
She would have taken Ariel’s words for bluff but she believed her.
She had kept her mother’s visit a secret from everyone, so for Ariel to tell her this meant that she did see her mother.
“Damn it, mother, what are you trying to do?” She needed to go home immediately.
*** Ariel was heading toward Aiden’s direction, but she got confused for a second; she had lost him in the crowd.
She was about to turn in another direction when Moon suddenly appeared before her.
“Ariel, hurry, come with me, Aiden said he has something to tell you,” Moon held her hand and dragged her off toward the elevator.
“Wait, I thought he went that way,” Ariel stopped and removed her hand from Moon’s grip as she was about to drag her into the elevator.
“Well, it’s your call.
He’s in this office, if you really want to hear what he has to say, you know what to do.
For the first time, I’m stepping down for you; after tonight, I’m claiming him, if you don’t,” Moon dangled a key in front of Ariel.
Ariel stared at Moon for a second before she skeptically took the key from her.
“Hurry, he’s waiting,” Moon smiled at her.
Ariel bit her lips and walked into the elevator.
She had a feeling about all this, but she couldn’t tell what it was…
