Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Eva sat in her room, brooding.
Last night, she didn’t get to speak with her Mother because she was fast asleep by the time she returned home.
Eva didn’t sleep a wink last night, her head was filled with what Ariel had told her at the party…her mother was planning to poison Aiden Chaz.
Was something wrong with her mother’s head?
Why on earth would she ever think that way?!
Her father was facing a little crisis in his company which they’ve kept under wraps to keep it from entering people’s ears, and they all knew that it was only if she succeeded in getting to seduce Aiden that things would turn out fine for them, so why was her mother trying to kill him?
The next morning, Eva was already up and impatient, she was sitting on her bed waiting for her mother to come in with her breakfast as usual.
And she did.
The door slowly opened and in came Catherine carrying a tray of breakfast for her daughter.
“Good morning, my sunshine, breakfast is served,” Catherine greeted cheerfully as she placed the food on Eva’s bed.
Catherine paused when she saw that Eva didn’t respond like she used to; she wasn’t even excited about the food.
She sighed and folded her arms on her chest.
“What’s the problem, darling?” Catherine asked in concern.
Eva still refused to talk, looking away from her mother.
Catherine was getting restless, she didn’t like it when she didn’t know what was bothering her daughter.
“Baby, did I do something wrong?” Catherine sat beside her on the bed, gently placing her hand on Eva’s thigh.
Eva finally decided to speak; she looked at her mother with an angry face and said, “Are you so bored here with me?
Maybe you should go back to Dad since you’re here to cause trouble.” Catherine was confused, “Hey, what do you mean, what have I done now?
Why are you sending me back to your father, you know he can’t take care of me now, he’s still struggling with his finances and-” “I’m glad you know that, so tell me, why have you decided to poison the only person who is going to help us out of this financial crisis?” Eva questioned with a frown.
“Huh?” Catherine spotted a deep frown on her face.
Eva stood from the bed, looking angry.
“I don’t say a word when you have your fun with manipulating or punishing others, but, trying to find a way to poison Aiden Chaz?
That’s something I can’t let you do,” Eva spoke, glaring at her mother.
Catherine almost fell out of bed when she heard Eva’s accusation.
“What…how…I don’t understand what you’re talking about, Eva.
I’ve never thought of hurting Aiden Chaz, Why would I even do that?
I’m not stupid,” Catherine stood, looking at her daughter’s face.
Eva chuckled, “Oh, really, Mom?
Then, please tell me how Ariel found out that you were in town and how you’re planning to kill Aiden Chaz,” Catherine paused, looking at Eva for a second.
It took her some time before she understood what was going on.

“Wait…are you trying to tell me, that you believe what that bastard said to you?” Catherine asked in disbelief.
“That’s not the point, Mother.
The point is that you’re trying to kill-” “Enough!” Catherine shunned Eva.
Eva was surprised, her Mother had never shouted at her.
“Enough.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Eva.
You’ve reduced yourself to listening to what that girl tells you, huh?
Instead of finding a way to get rid of her and take her position as Aiden’s secretary, you’re here, fighting your own Mother because of some bastard girl…” Catherine’s face was twisted in an ugly manner.
She couldn’t believe that Ariel was still able to cause trouble for her even from afar, she wished her plan with that stupid Abbey had worked, Ariel would have been history by now, but she didn’t know what happened to Abbey, she suddenly stopped replying to her texts and calls, as if she was too cowardly to go on with their plan.
She slowly walked up to her daughter and held her hand, “Now, baby, you listen to Mummy; I have never thought of poisoning your future husband; I’m disappointed that you even believed what came from that wretched girl’s mouth, can’t you see what she’s trying to do?
She’s trying to make us fight, to distract us from her, but don’t worry, baby.
I already have something planned out for her, trust Mummy,” Catherine smiled at Eva.
Eva was quiet, thinking about everything and how Ariel came to find out that her mother was in California with her.
“Then…how did she know you were here?” Eva questioned.
Catherine wondered, too, but she dismissed it, Ariel might have just been guessing.
“Don’t worry yourself about that, honey, that rifraf might have just been guessing, come now, my baby, come eat your breakfast,” Catherine gently led Eva back to the bed and served her food.
In Catherine’s mind, she was already devising a means to get rid of Ariel, she had just been planning to kidnap her and send her away to another country, but right now, she might just higher an assassin for her.
*** Ariel had her head lowered on her laptop; she still took web design jobs anonymously; she didn’t want to reveal herself to the world yet; it was better working as an unknown person, it saved her a lot of drama from people.
She wore a white sleeveless singlet and a bum short, purposely wanting to look appetizing for Aiden.
She was sitting in the living room, and from time to time, she would raise her head to look toward Aiden’s office.
It was now late afternoon, and it had not been up to an hour they separated from each other yet she was already craving him beside her again.
Aiden was such a sweetheart, and she felt lucky that she was the only one who saw that side of him.
Who would have thought that the cold and aloof Aiden Chaz was such a sweet lover?
She was still thinking of their time in the bedroom, Aiden was so clingy, and she was here for it.
However, amid her blooming heart, Ariel felt like all this was good to be true; she felt like something coming, something huge that might cause her and Aiden to wake up from their hallucinations and infatuation.
She knew nothing lasts forever, but for the moment they were still together, she was not going to let anything come between them, she would try her best to make Aiden understand that not every woman was like his Mother, just like it wasn’t every man who was like her father.
She still doesn’t know the full story of what happened between Aiden and his mother, but she is willing to wait until he is ready to tell her about it all.
“Smiling, does it mean you’re thinking about me too?” Aiden’s voice rang in front of her.
Ariel felt her cheeks flush even before she looked up.
She looked up at Aiden and saw him smiling down at her, he was casual and sexy at the same time.
His blue shirt and dark green pants gave him a laid-back look, bringing out the homely side of him.
Aiden leaned down and placed his hands beside her on the sofa.
“You’re drooling,” Aiden commented, staring at the corner of her lips.
“Huh!
What?” Ariel quickly wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and frowned when she didn’t feel anything on her hand.
She snapped her head to Aiden and frowned, “You lied to- Mm…” Aiden covered her lips with his.
He put his arms behind her and lifted her from the sofa, then lowered himself on the sofa, balancing her on his lap.
He kissed her possessively, his tongue sliding into her mouth and tasting all the corners of her mouth.
Ariel placed her hands flat on his chest and moved her head away from him.
“You tricked me,” She pouted.
Aiden smiled up at her, “I can’t help it, you look so cute when you’re worried,” he slowly moved his hands down to her ass.
He kept his eyes on her as he started to squeeze her cheeks.
Ariel chuckled and shook his head, “Really, you still want that?” She asked softly.
Aiden nodded innocently, “I couldn’t concentrate in there, shouldn’t have gone in there in the first place…so boring,” he lifted his upper body and buried his face in her chest, sniffing his nose between her breasts.
Ariel was smiling nonstop.
This was what she was talking about, Aiden was such a baby.
He looked like a kid who didn’t want to be away from his Mother for one minute.
“But, we have to get some work done,” Ariel tried to reason but made no effort to push him away.
Aiden shook his head, “You’re my work, baby, I’m here to clock in,” he gently bit one of her breasts.
“Ouch!
Aiden!” Ariel playfully slapped his shoulder, laughing.
“I’m hungry…” Aiden suddenly raised his face and looked at her.
“What do you…wait…” Ariel wanted to ask him what he wanted to eat, but she saw the look in his eyes and realized that Aiden wasn’t talking about the normal food.
Aiden smirked at her, his eyes darkening.
“So, is Moma going to feed her baby?” His voice was low and sexy; he bit his lips seductively; he knew Ariel wouldn’t say no to him.
Ariel was about to say something when Aiden slid his hand under her single and went straight for her breast.
“Aiden…” She called quietly.
“I need to feed, Moma…” His sensual voice caused Ariel to bite her lips.
He tugged her nipple, squeezing her breast and her ass cheek.
“Aiden…I think someone’s coming,” Ariel gently spoke, fighting the urge to moan.
Aiden didn’t believe her.
“Come on, baby, don’t try to escape,” he whispered to her.
“No, I’m really not trying to – Ahh…” She moaned as Aiden suddenly lifted her singlet and sucked her nipple into her mouth.
“Aiden…t-the door…” Ariel was breathing heavily as she stared at the door.
In the next second, Moon gently pushed open the door and walked in.
When Ariel saw who it was, she didn’t bother to move away from Aiden, she smirked at Moon, holding Aiden’s head close to her chest.
Aiden heard the door open and slowly moved his head away, pulling her singlet down to cover her breasts.
He looked behind him and saw Moon looking away from them.
“Moon, when did you get here?” He asked, a little frown on his face.
Moon stared at Ariel’s smug face and felt her heart hurt a million times, ‘What a bitch!’ She thought.
“I’m sorry, Aiden, I didn’t mean to disturb you, I’m here to apologize about last night,” Moon walked forward.
Aiden looked at Ariel and smirked at her, “You got away this time,” He kissed her before dropping her beside him on the sofa.
“I’ll be right back,” Ariel kissed his cheek and stood, going into the kitchen.
Moon was dying of jealousy; she couldn’t believe her eyes; Aiden was really in love with Ariel.
What was she supposed to do now.
“Moon, I asked you a question,” Aiden suddenly spoke beside her.
Moon turned to him, her face looking scared.
“Ah, what was your question?” “I asked, why did you drug me last night?” His face was hard as stone.
Moon felt her heart fly, how did Aiden know she had drugged him?
He wasn’t supposed to remember that.
She had planned to tell him a white lie; how was she supposed to go about it now?
