Chapter 89: Chapter 89 Chapter 89: Chapter 89 Ariel was on a call with someone when Jewel knocked on her door and entered without waiting for an invite.
She didn’t mind.
He walked in and sat on the chair in front of her desk.
He waited for her to finish with her official call before he spoke.
“Here’s your purse,” he placed it on top of her table.
“Thank you,” Ariel sighed and took her purse, placing it inside her drawer.
“So…what happened?” Jewel asked, crossing his legs.
“What happened?” Ariel asked him back, pretending not to know what he was talking about.
Jewel chuckled, “Come on, spill the tea already.” Ariel smiled but suddenly frowned when she remembered what Aiden had done to her.
“Nothing happening, he was just mad about me staining his suit,” Ariel replied.
Jewel stared at her with narrowed eyes, he didn’t believe her.
“I don’t believe you, the way he was looking at you were the eyes of a man who wanted to…you know…are you saying he didn’t?” Jewel asked mischievously.
Ariel couldn’t believe what Jewel was thinking inside his head, “Jewel, have some filter in your thoughts,” She chastised.
Jewel smiled at her, “Well, I’m just being honest.
My Grandma would be so elated to hear that she’ll be getting more grandchildren from you and Mr.
Chaz,” Jewel giggled.
Ariel paused, “Whoa, hold up.
What do you mean grandchildren?
I’m not even preg…
wait…” She snapped her eyes down to her belly.
Jewel was watching her with interest, waiting for her to finally admit that she and Aiden had fallen for each other.
“What’s the date?” She quickly asked, tapping her feet anxiously on the floor.
Jewel narrowed his eyes at her, “Don’t tell me you’re really preg-” “Just tell me what data today is!” Ariel slapped her hand on her table.
Jewel was startled and leaned away from Ariel.
“Okay, okay, relax…
it’s the 15th of October, 2024,” Jewel showed her the screen of his phone.
“Oh thank goodness!” Ariel covered her face with her hand and sighed in relief.
“You almost gave me a heart attack.
How could I have missed checking it?
Luckily, it doesn’t come till the 20th.

Whew!” She slumped back on her chair and breathed.
“Are you talking about your…period?” Jewel questioned curiously.
Ariel nodded; she almost thought she was pregnant; thank goodness she hadn’t missed her period for the month; she’d be careful from now on; she had to make sure Aiden wanted a kid with her since their relationship status had changed.
She believed that something should change between them, especially with the contracts.
She needed to come out and tell him about the contract she signed with Grandma Nari before marrying him, and they needed to address the contracts they’d signed amongst themselves.
Since they were now in love with each other, she didn’t want to still abide by all the external rules that were binding their marriage.
She wanted them to reach an agreement first; if they were going to have a child, it would be because they wanted to, and not because some old lady needed an heir.
“I was right!
I knew the two of you couldn’t keep your hands off each-” “Jewel,” A voice called from the door.
Jewel paused and turned to the door.
Ariel was surprised to see Jewel become extremely elated the moment he saw the person standing at the door.
She couldn’t believe it.
“Moon!” Jewel sprang from the chair and ran out of the office.
He hugged Moon tightly, and for the first time, Ariel saw a genuine smile on Moon’s face, it was weird.
What was she doing here in the first place?
“It’s been so long, bestie,” Moon laughed softly as Jewel still hugged her tightly.
“Tell me about it,” Jewel giggled.
‘Bestie?’ Ariel immediately began to question her friendship with Jewel.
Had he been working as a spy with Moon?
But he never asked her any personal questions, he had never appeared dangerous to her either.
Could it be that Moon was a different person from him?
“You never come here.
Isn’t it boring for you anymore?” Jewel asked Moon.
“It still is, but, I just felt like visiting my brother and my sister-in-” “Shh!” Jewel placed a finger on Moon’s lips, “I know she’s your lovely sister-in-law, but out here and anywhere else, Mr.
Chaz is keeping it on a low.
I know it might be a shock to you as you’ve gotten used to seeing them together at home.
But please, Mr.
Chaz wants it to be private for now,” Jewel whispered with a serious face.
Moon gasped, looking over at Ariel, “Really?
Oh, I never knew.
So I’d just pretend I don’t know who she is, right?” Moon asked in a low voice.
Jewel nodded, “That’d be better,” He replied.
“Okay,” Moon smiled, looking at Ariel with a hidden glint in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, baby girl, but you don’t get to act familiar with your sister-in-law in public,” Jewel said to Ariel in an apologetic tone.
Ariel chuckled, “I don’t know who she is, Jewel,” Moon smiled.
“Oh, you see?
She’s already acting the part,” Moon whispered.
Jewel nodded, smiling at Ariel.
“It’s alright, Jewel, the secretary seems to be busy with work; let’s not disturb her.
I’ll be heading over to Aiden’s office,” Moon said and turned away from the door, she took Jewel with her as she did.
Jewel didn’t forget to wave at Ariel as he followed Moon out.
In Aiden’s office, he had just finished with a software design and was about to step out and head to Ariel’s office, he was almost at the door when a knock sounded on his door.
He smiled; he knew Ariel couldn’t stay away from him for so long; he was too hot to ignore.
He opened the door and prepared to say something sexy to her.
“Ariel…Moon?” He called with a frown.
Moon, who was standing in front of the door with a wide smile, suddenly lost her smile when she heard the first name Aiden called.
“Yes, it’s me, Moon, can I come in?” She asked, trying her best not to let her anger show.
Aiden sighed, “What are you doing here, Moon?” He questioned tiredly and stepped away from the door.
Moon never came to his company, she never liked anything related to computers or designs.
She did like jewelry, but she just hated the process of making it.
Maybe she had something urgent that brought her here.
Moon slowly walked into the office, looking around the whole interior.
“You have such a nice office, just like the one at home,” Moon paused in front of his desk and turned to look at him.
“Thank you.
But what are you doing here?
Do you need something?” Aiden asked.
Moon frowned, “I’m hurt.
So I can’t come to see my brother?” She tilted her head to the side.
“You can, Moon, but you’ve never come here before, don’t blame me for being suspicious,” Aiden shrugged.
“Come here, give your sister a hug, I’ve missed you,” Moon smiled innocently, her arms widened beside her.
Aiden moved forward, but when he reached her front, he patted her head instead and walked away, heading to the sofa.
In the past, he would have hugged her, but currently, he had some doubts, and until he clarified those doubts, he was going to maintain a safe distance from her.
He won’t be obvious about it because he would never want to hurt her.
Moon frowned, what was that head patting all about?
She waved it off and walked toward him.
She was never going to let her emotions implicate her anymore.
She had come to understand that Aiden listened and paid attention more when she used to be calmer and in control of her emotions.
That’s what she was going to do from now.
“I see you’re free, how about we go out and have lunch?
Just you and me, like old times?” Moon sat beside Aiden and tugged his shirt.
Aiden sighed, “Moon, you do realize how well I prioritize my work, I can’t leave the company until work closes, and by the way, I can’t leave with you.
I have a meeting with someone, and it’s almost time,” Aiden faced her and smiled.
“How about tomorrow, I promise to have lunch with you, okay?” He patted her head again.
Moon blinked; that action was to her like a constant reminder that she would always be his little sister.
“Okay, Aiden, I’ll take my leave and let you prepare for this meeting…” She stood and walked to the door.
“You can ask Gregory to take you anywhere you want to go,” Aiden said from the sofa.
Moon nodded.
“Bye, Aiden.” She walked out of the office, anger steaming in her chest.
She knew the meeting Aiden was talking about was with Eva; she wondered what Aiden wanted to discuss with her; hopefully, it was just work-related.
She’d seen Eva, and she’d assimilated her, she looked like a manipulating person, and she hoped she hadn’t somehow manipulated Aiden into letting her get close to him…
