Chapter 114: Are you fucking kidding me?
Chapter 114: Are you fucking kidding me?
Warning : This chapter does depict some graphic violence against others.
If this would be triggering to you, I recommend you skip this chapter.
Stay safe.
“I didn’t realise all of you wanted to go to jail.
There are easier ways.” Kellen started, and that got everyone’s attention. “J-Jail?” One of them squeaked out, one of the ones who was clearly regretting their actions, and Kellen nodded seriously, crossing his arms. “Yes, jail.
Are you even aware of what you fucking morons did?” Kellen felt his voice raise in volume and a few of them flinched. “W-We did nothing wrong!” One of them had balls, Kellen thought.
He clenched one of his hands tightly, before shifting on his feet.
“Nothing wrong?
Are you fucking kidding me right now?
We could charge you with attempted murder, on several accounts, and you would all get a full fucking sentence.” One of the ghost white Guides started bawling. “I-I never wanted to participate!
They forced me!” They flung a finger behind them, pointing to a trio that had a mean look on their faces, in their eyes, and hadn’t seemed remorseful in the slightest.
“Oh?
And what did they force you to do?” Kellen asked, and the Guide swallowed.
They tried to gather themselves enough to speak again. “T-They didn’t want us to guide the lower level Espers.
Said it wasn’t worth our time.
I-I never thought that-” “That your actions would have consequences?
That you would be held accountable for going along with someone’s plan who isn’t actually your fucking superiors?” Kellen moved until he was standing over the shaking pile of shit.
The look in their eyes when they stared up at him was one of pure fear, mixed with surprise and horror as Kellen continued to speak. “Or, was it the guilt?
Because you had a chance to save them, but you didn’t guide them even then, so you must have agreed with them somewhere in your heart.” Kellen looked over the group, disgusted.
“Tell me, as Guides, do you think people who have a lower class than you are inferior to you?” He demanded, and there was silence.
There was shame in some eyes, but most stared back at him defiantly.
“Do you think they are worth less than you?” Again, the same people were ashamed, while the others didn’t give a goddamn.
Kellen sighed. “You’re all fucking awful.
Let me make one thing very fucking clear.
T is your privilege to have the powers that you do.
It is not something you get to choose, it is something that you are inherently born with.
No one gets preferential treatment in this.
All of you were born with the capabilities of B Class, C Class Guides, and you are blessed to even have that.

You are lucky that you sit in the Class you are in.” One of the ring leaders snorted.
They turned their head to the side, scoffing, before glaring at Kellen.
“Yeah, I don’t think you can say anything.
You got to jump Classes.
I’m sure someone helped you do that.” Casper gasped behind Kellen, and Kellen held up his hand to stop anyone else from approaching.
He wasn’t able to read power fluctuations, but that didn’t mean he was an idiot. Kellen moved towards the woman who had spoken, and picked her up by her uniform with both hands before chucking her across the room.
She screamed as she was airborne, before she landed on the ground, rolling and sobbing until she came to a stop.
Even with the mats, it must have hurt.
Kellen knew his own strength, and knew that she must have several, severe bruises.
Maybe even a broken rib if he was lucky.
He knew violence wasn’t the answer, not really, but at the same time, this bitch was supposed to be in his training program.
She was supposed to be a Field Guide.
He recognised her from the meeting. She had wanted all the acclaim that came with being a Field Guide.
The notoriety, the superiority of that title.
At least, that was how she was viewing it.
And Kellen, well, he was going to gracious enough to give her the treatment of one of his students who had fucked up.
A last little gift just for her.
And anyone else who opened their mouth and spewed bullshit. Kellen picked her up again, and tossed her further into the room.
He kept picking her up, and throwing her against the floor until she started bleeding.
She was sobbing, screaming in pain, but Kellen didn’t feel a single ounce of regret.
She was lucky he wasn’t kicking or punching her.
She wouldn’t have withstood his hits without breaking her bones.
Kellen had the urge to. In fact, he wasn’t the only one.
Several of the Espers in the room were glaring at the group of Guides too.
Feeling that she wasn’t going to be a problem for the time being, he turned and strolled back to the group of Guides.
They were all quaking in fear now, clearly horrified at what he had just done, but Kellen couldn’t bring himself to care.
He wasn’t an almost murderer.
“You almost killed people, do you understand that?
You and your foolish actions jeopardized several Espers all because of a stupid idea you had in your head.
Who are you to believe you are better than others?
Even if in some distant future that was true, as a Guide, you are never supposed to let your own personal feelings interfere with your work!
It’s like the second fucking rule they teach you!
We are Guides.
We are supposed to help others!
We are supposed to act outside of our feelings, outside of our beliefs, and help others!” Kellen ran his hand over his face, trying to calm down, but the expressions on their faces only made him furious. “You motherfuckers couldn’t even follow the basic tenets for being a Guide!
How the fuck you got into the Saturn Guild is blowing my mind right now, since I know that even for Guides the tests are very difficult.” Kellen exhaled, trying to calm himself once more.
He turned to stare at the battered girl on the floor, who was still sobbing, before he continued.
“Did you think you were some hot shit because you were in a good Guild?
Did you think because Lieutenant Casper cares about his Guides that you would be allowed to get away with this?
To walk all over the Saturn Guild’s reputation, along with every other Guide’s reputation at the same, all because you have some fucked up power fantasy?
Are you fucking kidding me?” Kellen was yelling, he was so angry. “When you do things like this, it doesn’t just affect you!
It affects the reputation of everyone around you!
How dare you undervalue human life!
How dare you take advantage of the fact that Guides are treated with special treatment to do something so evil?
You monsters get to stay in towns, in cities, like pretty little princesses and never have to leave your comfy little home, with the others you disparage and refuse to heal risk their fucking lives to keep you safe! Did you forget about the mission statement Captain Thatcher formed this Guild under?
How he hired and employed you to help save his fellow Espers who risk their lives for your comfort?
These Espers who are training here to risk their mother-fucking-lives all to keep your pompous asses alive, and this is what you do to them?
You try to kill them by not doing the job you are paid and hired to do?
All because you have a fucked up air of authority?
Because their power level might not be the same as yours?
Are you fucking morons?
Most of the work done on the front lines is done by the lower Class Espers!
A and S Class Espers just wander in after everyone else has set up the fucking stage!
They are essentially useless in comparison to everything else the others do!” Kellen was huffing.
He was surprised at himself for everything he had said, but clearly, it wasn’t enough.
One of the trio, the other girl, crossed her arms and sneered at him.
“Just because someone is good at setting up the gates, doesn’t mean that they are good at their job.
Anyone can follow instructions.
So what if A Class and S Class Espers come in after.
They can still do everything a C Class can do, and so much better.
All of this is making me sick.
I wish they had surged, at least that would have been interesting to watch.” Her tone dripped venom, and Kellen could taste the tension in the room.
Several of the Guides who could sense the powers of the Espers began to look ill. Clearly, the other Espers in the room were getting riled up now too.
Kellen heard an inhale behind him, and he clenched his hands tightly into fists.
It was Brent, he was pissed, and he was probably ready to throw up, along with Casper.
They were the closest to the Espers, and therefore the most affected.
Kellen worried that Brent was going to storm across the room and beat the ever loving daylights out of this fucking monster, but instead he heard him murmuring behind him to the remaining Espers in the room, talking them down.
Kellen understood what kind of gift he had given him, so he didn’t waste it. Unclenching his hands, he stormed towards the Guide, his expression dark.
They must have seen the fury in his face, because they tried to escape.
They scrambled against the mat for grip to get away, but Kellen was standing, and had far more experience with dealing with rats. Not fucking around, Kellen grabbed them by the arm, his grip tight.
Painful.
They were kicking and screaming, fear clearly engulfing them and Kellen wondered if this was the exact feeling the Espers felt as they began to drown in their own emotions after begging for help.
Helpless.
Hopeless. Fire licked inside of his body, and tightening his grip on their arm, he forced them to the ground on their front, pulling their arm back behind them until they were screaming and sobbing in pain.
They sobbed into the floor, and with the cold flames lapping inside of him, Kellen raised his boot, pressing it against their upper arm. Harder and harder he pressed, as their sobs filled the air.
The sound of the bone suddenly snapping as he kicked out was shortly covered by the screams of the injured Guide.
The smell of urine filled the hair, and Kellen glanced around them at the Guides who had witnessed the act of violence. Horror, shock and fear filled their gazes as they looked at him.
He let the injured arm fall to the ground, and the Guide wailed, but didn’t move.
Kellen stepped away from her, putting enough distance between them that he couldn’t smell the urine anymore. “I am aware that half of you were supposed to be in my class today.
I am also aware that most of you thought that being a Field Guide was going to be a walk in the park.
Why wouldn’t it be?
You’ve had it so good so far, and I appear to be ditzy and in love, so volunteering to be trained by the Captain’s new pet would be an easy way to get brown points with the Guild.
You must have all thought that just because I had been a C Class Guide before this that it was going to be so easy to become a Field Guide.” Kellen scoffed, rolling his eyes. The Guide whose arm he had snapped struggled to sit up with their other arm, glaring at Kellen.
Sniffing, he approached them again and they widened their eyes.
They began screaming before Kellen even laid hands on them.
Kellen covered their mouth with his hand, muffling their screams of agony as he gripped the broken part of their arm tightly.
Tears streamed down their face but Kellen felt no remorse, especially after what they had said with their own mouth. “I’ve got some news for you, fellow Guides, but being a C Class anything fucking sucks.
I know most of you are B Class, so you can never relate to what I’m about to say, but try.
You aren’t quite a big enough deal for others to pay full attention to you, but you aren’t low enough to be deemed worthless in society’s eyes.
Since none of you have ever had to worry about what you are worth to society, I doubt you can even empathize with what I am saying.
Since the C Class Guides, actually tried to do their fucking jobs.” Kellen chuckled, as he watched the gaze of the nine Guides go to the group behind them.
Kellen had no doubt that Brent was protecting them.
His grip tightened on the broken bone and a keening wail could be heard even as he muffled the sound. “No, as much as I ask, I know you worthless lot can’t, since you did what you did.
But, let me clear up a rumour right now.” Kellen glanced around them, an evil, malicious smile on his face.
“Being a Field Guide is not a cake walk.
Do you know why we wear all black, despite being affiliated with other Guilds who have specific uniforms?” The muffled sound of the Guide’s screams filled the quiet air, along with the pained panting breaths from the other Guide in the distance.
The last ring leader looked too horrified to say anything.
“It’s so that no one sees how much blood we’re covered in.” Kellen tossed the Guide to the floor again, standing up to stare down at them with disdain.
“Medic, heal them.” Kellen barked out, and a medic rushed over, disgust on their face but they did what Kellen asked of them.
Kellen didn’t care if they were disgusted by his actions, this needed to be done, and he wasn’t going to let anyone else handle it.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS CalyB Not gonna lie, there was a chance where Kellen went full evil.
That would be a cool AU where the Captain is the good guy and Kellen is the evil one.
Great enemies to lovers potential.
