Chapter 127: Warm ups and Harsh looks Chapter 127: Warm ups and Harsh looks Shortly after their touching moment, the Captain got a phone call he couldn’t refuse, and after answering it, leaving Kellen alone on the couch, he had to leave.
It was clear that he didn’t want to, given the sad, yellow eyes he’d given the Guide, but Kellen was always the professional, and sent him on his way. The Captain promised that he would pick Kellen up in the morning for the press conference around 8 am.
Kellen, who was busy shoving the man out of his apartment so that he didn’t make the Captain a liar, took note of the time.
He was distracted enough that the Captain was able to get in a chaste kiss before the door closed in his face.
Kellen felt his face flush, before he covered it. That damn man.
He had no idea why that damn kiss was what made his heart race, given everything the two had gotten up to.
What Kellen had admitted to. Pushing all thoughts that could distract him out of his mind, Kellen set to work calming himself down so that he could go to bed early.
If the Captain was going to pick him up at 8 am, he would need to wake up a little earlier so that he could fit in a workout before that. Finishing his tea, he took his time to relax and stare out the giant windows of his apartment, actually taking time to enjoy the view as night set over the city.
Half of the city that knew what had happened hated him, and the other half probably didn’t know what to do with him.
But that didn’t mean Kellen didn’t like the city.
It was a beautiful place that he had worked hard to protect.
He just hoped that they would appreciate all that he had done for them after the press conference aired. Cleaning up after him and the Captain, Kellen went through the motions of turning off all the lights, making sure the door was locked, the counters were clean, and everything was in its place before heading upstairs.
He grabbed a quick shower before brushing his teeth and heading for his closet. Standing with his hands on his hips, his towel around his neck, and Kellen looked over everything he had.
Slowly, he gathered his uniform together, making sure that everything was ready when he came back from the gym.
He even made sure to polish his shoes again so that they were shiny and bright for the morning.
He glanced at the few boxes he still hadn’t unpacked, and for good reason.
Two of them held his dark history with the Captain, while the other one was his box of sex toys.
He hadn’t really used them, but had them for research purposes.
He knew how they worked, and had gotten the more expensive ones since they had good reviews, but beyond that, he’d used them in the context of research, and hadn’t touched them since.
The clearest example of that was the simple fact that the box, along with the photos and clippings of Captain Thatcher, had been down in the garage instead of in Kellen’s apartment proper. Honestly, he’d forgotten about them until the Captain had kicked up a stink about him having an emergency stash for the front lines.
He also hadn’t forgotten what the Captain had said either. Moving towards his night stands, he opened the first drawer, pulling out the bottle of lube he had, and the several condoms he had put in there as well.
He wasn’t sure what the Captain was into, so he’d gotten a variety pack, and had based the condoms on his own size.
He’d even made sure the expiration date was a long ways out.
He then went to the other night stand and opened it, revealing the flavoured lube he’d gotten as a free gift when he’d ordered everything in. Thank goodness no one asked questions when he ordered things for the Field Guides. Obviously, Kellen would make small ’emergency’ kits for his Guides as well, once they were closer to being ready to be sent to the front lines, but it never hurt to be well stocked.
He cleared his throat. He had a feeling that he would be using these sooner rather than later.
Kellen wasn’t scared by that idea anymore.
He was getting used to these…practises that he and the Captain were participating in.
Kellen found that he didn’t hate them, and they did provide useful information for him.
He was learning more about himself, and about the Captain.
It would make the higher levels of guiding go easier.

Smoother. Kellen felt his face flush and he sighed, covering it with his hands. Yes.
That’s why he was doing this.
That was the only reason.
It was because he was his pair, and nothing else. ~ Kellen’s alarm at 5 am came suddenly, but Kellen woke easily.
Getting dressed, and grabbing a protein shake on the way out the door, he headed for the gym. He shouldn’t have been surprised to see Brent at the gym, but he was.
Usually he didn’t hit the gym for another hour and a half, yet here Brent was, already sweating.
Kellen wondered if there was something wrong, until Brent smiled and waved at him.
Maybe he just wanted to work out?
Kellen hoped that was the case. The looks Kellen got from the others in the gym were mixed.
Some were still friendly, while others avoided him or even sneered at him.
Kellen could tell with every negative interaction that Brent was getting more wound up, but Kellen was fine.
Most of the people who were treating him poorly were people he hadn’t spent much time with anyone.
And people were allowed to dislike him.
It would be exhausting if everyone liked him. Kellen only stayed in the gym for about two hours before heading back up to his apartment to shower, and get ready.
Kellen made sure to take extra care that not a single thread was out of place.
His shoes were shined, his leather was all one shake and gleamed, and his clothing he had steamed to make sure there wasn’t a wrinkle in sight. He was the perfect image of a Field Guide. He did leave out the long, leather jacket this time though, since he found he would probably overheat in the damn thing, and opted for the shorter version, similar to the jacket that Brent often wore.
One thing he did make sure he had, which he hadn’t had the day before, was his 9 mm gun that he’d kept in the laundry room.
He tucked it into the waistband on his pants, making sure it was hidden by the leather jacket.
He didn’t want to panic anyone, but since the Captain had brought up the fact that terrorists might try to harm him and the others during the press conference, he wanted to cover his bases. When the Captain came knocking at his door at 7:55 am, Kellen was ready for him.
He opened the door, front lines ready.
The Captain, who had a slight smile on his mouth, and was ready to greet him, froze.
As Kellen watched him, his face turned red as colour covered his cheeks.
Curious, and slightly confused, Kellen watched him. “Captain?
Is something wrong?” He asked, while also ogling him. The Captain had also dressed to the nines in his Captain uniform.
He’d gone for his more formal uniform jacket, the one that he had worn to pick up Gwen and the other new recruits.
The dress shirt had the logo of the Guild embroidered into the collar of his shirt, and it was freshly starched.
The buttons down the shirt shimmered with gold undertones, and the lapels of his jacket were pressed tightly against his chest.
Everything was trimmed with gold, and even his cufflinks made his uniform pop. The lines in his pants were crisp, showing off the length of his legs.
They were a little tight around his thighs, but Kellen was sure no one was going to complain about that.
His shoes shone just as nicely as Kellen’s, since they were the same type of shoe.
Huh.
Kellen hadn’t realised that until now. After staring at him for a while, Kellen began to pick up on some finer details.
The fact that the gold trim had to have real gold in it, the texture of the fabric of his jacket.
Everything about his uniform conveyed the kind of man he was. Detail-oriented, considerate, not one to flaunt his wealth, but not one to shy away from it either.
Kellen swallowed.
He didn’t have a hair out of place, but that was when Kellen noticed the top button, near his pecs, was straining against the tension.
Feeling slightly uncomfortable, Kellen fought the urge to poke the button, just to see what would happen. “You look…uh.” He cleared his throat, drawing Kellen from his observation of his body.
When Kellen moved his gaze back to the Captain’s face he could feel the heat from his gaze as he scanned him.
“I didn’t get a chance to properly look you over yesterday.
The Field Guide uniform really suits you Mr.
Woods.
I mean, it always had but uh…it really suits you.” The Captain seemed flustered, and Kellen chucked.
He smiled up at him. “Thank you Captain.
You always look very put together as well.
The Captain uniform suits you.” Kellen sincerely meant his words.
He looked absolutely stunning in his uniform.
The Captain stepped back, allowing Kellen to exit into the hallway and close the door behind him.
Kellen could feel the Captain’s gaze on him, but the man didn’t say anything to him until they got to the elevator. “If you ever want to switch uniforms, let me know.
I think I would enjoy seeing you in the Captain’s uniform.” Confused, but feeling his face flush at the Captain’s tone alone, Kellen turned to look up at him. “What do you mean by that?” He asked, and he shrugged, a smile touching his lips.
His eyes weren’t quite gold, but they were thinking about it. “Well, it isn’t as if you are going to go run off and start your own Guild, are you?
And I’ll never be able to be a Field Guide, so maybe this is a little bit of a fantasy fulfillment?
Oh, we can even roleplay if you’d like.
It could be a cute bonding moment.” Kellen blinked, stunned in the face of such open excitement from the Captain.
It was easy to fall into what he was suggesting. Kellen was thrown into a scene of what the Captain had suggested.
The Captain, covered in the skin tight shimmering black fabric, covered in leather straps that were a little too tight for their own good.
Mud on his face and arms, his hair messy and all over the place.
A gun in his hand while his eyes glowed blue as he guided someone to safety.
A drop of sweat rolling down his chin, landing on the person he was guiding. He swallowed. Turning his head away from the Captain, his cheeks pink, he cleared his throat. “I-I’ll think about it.” He muttered.
It was too early in the morning for such naughty thoughts.
He had to force himself not to adjust his semi-hard cock as he stepped into the elevator. It was clear, from the Captain’s smirk, that he was all game though.
He reached out, taking Kellen’s hand in his own and giving it a squeeze. “Let’s think about it more once all of this is dealt with.
You ordered a bunch of uniforms for your students, right?
Maybe I’ll borrow one from the rack when the time comes.” He winked at Kellen, and Kellen felt his whole face go red.
Fuck.
“I’ll get you a custom made Captain uniform.
As much as I would love for you to wear mine, I think seeing you in one tailored to you will be better.” Kellen, desperate for anything to change the topic, snapped his fingers as he remembered. “I still have one of your jackets in my closet!” He proclaimed, and the Captain grinned.
He poked Kellen’s nose, much to the Guide’s displeasure. “No, you have one of my old jackets in your closet.
It’s yours now.
Use it to chase away pests when you need to.
Especially on the front lines.
Or, you can wear it whenever you miss me.
Both are cute.” The Captain was smiling as they exited the elevators, while Kellen already felt exhausted. His heart was pumping, his pulse was racing, and he felt like he could fry an egg on his face.
He was going to need to calm down, since no one would take him seriously at the press conference if he looked like this.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS CalyB Sweet little Kellen is slowly warming up to the idea.
I have a feeling he’ll end up pouncing on the Captain, messing up the Captain’s 6 step plan XD
