Chapter 173: Kidnapping isn’t a kink, right?
Hill and Brent stared at him incredulously as Kellen doubled over with his laughter. “How the fuck are you finding this funny when you were the one who was lecturing us on how Ian was treating Casper?” Hill asked, and Kellen tried to get up to speak, but burst into laughter again.
He was gasping, unable to get air into his body as he laughed.
After a moment, he was able to compose himself, and he leaned against the arm of his chair, leaning away from Hill.
He wiped tears from his eyes while the two of them looked on in concern.
“I’m sorry, that wasn’t very put together Field Guide of me.” He joked, and Brent snorted. “What about that tickled your funny bone?
That was a very serious situation you avoided without even being aware of it, Kellen.” Brent warned, his tone serious even as his eyes danced.
Kellen snorted, covering his mouth as he found the giggles again.
“I know that.
What I find so funny is that he was right.” Hill and Brent stared at Kellen, but they didn’t have to prod him to continue.
“Rhys said he was just like the other Espers, and that I shouldn’t forgive him.
He was right in the sense that he was just like any other Esper.
That’s A Class Esper at best.
Honestly, I was worried it was going to be worse.” Hill’s eyes went wide, and Brent covered his mouth as his own snort escaped. “Worse?
What the hell do you mean, worse?” Hill demanded, and Brent nodded, waving his hand in a way to say that he also wanted to hear whatever Kellen was going to say.
Kellen grinned.
“Well, I was expecting something along the lines of him planning to break my legs so that I couldn’t run away, take away my voice box so I couldn’t scream.
You know, truly extreme, S Class things that I could not ever forgive him for.” Hill ran her hand over her face, as Brent went white. “You could forgive him for kidnapping you?” She asked, and Kellen laughed. “Oh, absolutely not.
If he took me away from what I loved all because of his own selfishness and contained me in a cabin where others couldn’t find me, he would be a fool to do so, and severely underestimating me.
That is my field, and that is where I work.
I’m not called a fucking Field Guide for no damn reason.
I’d be able to make my way back to civilization.
Maybe not the first time, but I would do it.
Even at risk of being eaten by monsters.” Brent tossed his head back and laughed at the glint in Kellen’s eyes, and Hill looked like she was at a loss for words.
She ended up shaking her head, before leaning back against the chair she sat on. “You’re both fucking insane.
I almost want to see what that looks like now..
You, on the run from a crazed Captain Thatcher, and Captain Thatcher, at his wits end because the Guide he tried to kidnap wouldn’t stay where he told him to.” Kellen could almost see it now. Captain Thatcher, in his full Captain’s uniform, dirt smeared all over him because of the several traps Kellen had set for him.
Kellen didn’t know his powers at the time, so wouldn’t know how effective his traps would have been.
He would have gone high, and also smeared himself with dirt, but it would be intentional.

Even his bag would be covered so that he could camouflage. He’d be pissed, stalking Kellen through the woods, trying to catch him.
Kellen would probably have bruises on his arms from restraints the Captain would have used on him.
His heart would be racing in his chest as he passed underneath him, and a few minutes later, Kellen would be off again.
Nighttime wouldn’t scare him.
That was the time when monsters would come out to play. As Kellen always carried weapons on him, especially when in gates, he doubted that the Captain would have taken all of his weapons away from him.
He would have kidnapped Kellen, yes, but he wouldn’t have had the balls to get rid of all of his weapons.
To pat him down.
Kellen didn’t understand why he was so sure of this idea, but he was. Kellen wasn’t sure how many times they would have repeated this game, but it would have been enough that the Captain would be exhausted with his antics, and Kellen would be riding on a high of escaping an S Class Esper for so long, and so many times, and adrenaline. He was actually worried about how much he liked the idea. Maybe…maybe if the Captain still had the cabin… Brent cleared his throat loudly, and Kellen jumped.
He glanced up, meeting Brent’s gaze before he slid his gaze to Hill, who was also staring at Kellen. “Are you okay?
You seemed pretty lost in thought there.” Hill said, and Brent nodded, taking a sip of his coffee.
Kellen coughed. “Oh, just fine.
Was there…anything else you two wanted to know before I asked about the gate for real?” Kellen asked, and Hill nodded eagerly. “How is the Captain?
How does he treat you?
Are you doing okay?
I saw those marks on you, so I know that he’s being aggressive, but are you really okay?” She asked, and Kellen wasn’t sure if she was teasing him or not. “Uh, well, he treats me…well.” Kellen admitted softly, and the two clamped onto that piece of information like two ravenous dogs. “Oh?
How well?” Brent leaned in even closer.
“How big is he?” He whispered and Kellen’s face went red.
Brent’s grin was naughty. “Brent Jameson!
That is none of your business.” Kellen hissed quietly, and Hill laughed. “I’ve showered with him and Gunther before.
He’s a good size.” Hill told Brent, and that only made Kellen flush more.
He opened his mouth, wanting to defend the Captain’s honour, and his own, but he didn’t want to give them too much information. “He’s…only a bit bigger than me.” Kellen muttered as quietly as he could, and Brent’s eyes went wide, along with Hill’s. “Kellen’s packing a fucking garden snake.
What a waste.” Hill tsked, and Kellen turned a darker shade of red.
Brent smacked her shoulder. “Hey, maybe he’ll get to top one day.
Who knows?
Birthdays and anniversaries exist for a reason.” That hurt Kellen’s pride for some reason.
“Why do you think I don’t already top?” Kellen asked angrily, and they gave him pitying looks. “Kellen, my little baby boy, have you looked at Captain Thatcher?
Does he seem like the kind of guy who would let another dominate him?” Kellen’s mind went back to when Kellen had been with him the previous night.
Yes, he did like to be in control, but… “I could see it.” Kellen muttered quietly, his eyes staring off into the distance.
Brent covered his mouth, scandalised.
“We should warn Captain Thatcher that you’re after his ass.” He teased, and Kellen frowned at him. “I would never do something without his consent.
And I’m also not-” He cut himself off, and then shut his mouth.
He had almost given everything away, and Brent’s eyes sparkled. “You’re not what, Kellen?
Interested in topping right now?” Brent’s grin made Kellen want to never tell him the truth.
“It’s alright, you can tell auntie Hill and uncle Brent.
We’ll keep it safe.
We don’t judge.
Uncle Brent has been a top and a bottom.
And auntie Hill has probably done the same.” Hill nodded along to what Brent said, while Kellen felt himself pale.
He really didn’t want to have this conversation with them. “I don’t want to have this kind of conversation.
I don’t really care what you think of me, and I appreciate that you two have so much experience, but we’re just starting our relationship in earnest.
It isn’t just a pairing anymore.
I want to keep some things to myself.
You two know I’m not a very public person.” Kellen knew he was pink, hell, he’d been pink for most of this conversation, but he was putting his foot down goddamnit.
No more questions like this. Hill gasped, and Kellen swore Brent’s eyes started to water. “My little Kellen is all grown up.
He’s even telling us to fuck off politely.” Hill cried, and Brent patted her shoulder, pretending to wipe a tear away from his eyes.
“Oh shut the fuck up you two.
I’m a grown adult.” Kellen growled, well and truly reaching his limit on this conversation topic.
Brent laughed, sitting back and away from him so that he was out of reach from Kellen in case he got handsy. “A grown adult who hadn’t had a serious romantic relationship until he was almost in his 30s.” Kellen gave him the finger. “I told you-” “Oh don’t tease him that way.
You know the Captain is fucking tickled pink that he’s so virtuous.
He loves that Kellen is all his for the molding.
It’s a good thing, Brent, for the both of them.
Kellen will only ever know the Captain, and the Captain’s crazy S Class woohoo brain will be soothed by that.” Hill smiled warmly at Kellen, who flushed at the way she had described it. “Thank you?” Kellen said hesitantly, unsure if he should be thanking her in this situation and Hill shifted in her seat, crossing her legs.
She reached for her cup and took a long, deep sip of her coffee. “You’re so welcome, Kellen.
Now, you wanted to hear about the gate?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS CalyB May or may not be tempted to do that for a later date.
We’ll see….
