Chapter 197: Some Espers disgust me Chapter 197: Some Espers disgust me The timer rang loudly in the room, and Kellen sighed heavily.
Turning it off, and putting his phone down, Kellen began to stretch out his shoulders.
He even got to his feet and stretched, touching his toes, feeling his shirt strain against his shoulders. Thankfully, he wouldn’t have to worry about tearing his shirt anytime soon.
He was going to be busy enough guiding everyone that he should drop a few pounds.
He wouldn’t have to buy new uniforms again. Was he sad he was losing muscle mass?
Yes.
But buying new clothes every time was getting pretty old.
The uniforms weren’t cheap either, even if the Captain had given him a set without asking for anything in return. Finally getting up to make that cup of tea he’d teased his escort with, Kellen peeked around the room to find what he was looking for.
He found that the drawers under the t.v.
that he had thought were just drawers, were, in fact, a pull up refreshment center and a drawer fridge.
It was quite interesting and Kellen found that it was an amazing thing that they had done. Well done Guiding Center C.
Hiding it in plain sight. Making himself some tea, Kellen munched on some grapes and a plate of cookies that they kept in the fridge.
He saved most of the cookies for his tea, but enjoyed the fact that the cookies didn’t taste like they were from a store.
They must have gotten someone to make them or ordered them in from a bakery.
Kellen would have to look into that.
It would be a nice touch. As much as Kellen appreciated what Taylor did, the shakes were…getting old.
Doing a little personal touch like this could be good for morale.
Especially for the Guild right now. Kellen enjoyed his tea, and the cookies and was about to pull on his jacket when he heard a scream.
It was so loud he could hear it through the walls. Going into fight or flight mode, Kellen rushed to his door, and cursed when he found it locked like he had anticipated.
Hesitating for only a second, he slammed his body into the lock, watching as it shattered under his directed weight and attention, and yanked the door open.
Listening to see if another scream was heard, Kellen winced when the ear-piercing sound of pain and anguish came from three doors down the hallway on his side.
Rushing for the door, Kellen knocked loudly. “Is everything alright in there?” He asked calmly, but firmly.
The room fell deadly quiet. “I-I’m fine.” The Guide’s voice trembled and Kellen clenched his hands.
He wasn’t sure if it was because he didn’t recognise Kellen’s voice, but that was not how Guides responded in situations like this. Unless the Esper inside was in a dangerous state. The elevator beeped at the exact same time that Kellen came to his conclusions, and glancing to the side to find the same woman from before with a few other members, Kellen nodded at her.
Her eyes widened as he kicked the door in. “Guide Woods!” Her voice rang out as Kellen took in what he felt was the grim scene before him. The younger Guide was naked on the bed but was covering himself with a torn up piece of the bedsheets.
His eyes were wide, watering, and clearly he was in shock.
He was stick thin, on the verge of probably his 30 minutes, but the Esper?
Kellen wanted to kick his head in. The man had wild eyes, and even though Kellen couldn’t sense it, he could tell the man was on edge.
He wasn’t naked, and just had his top off and the zipper on his pants open.
His cock was out, and Kellen wanted to strangle him for looking at such a young Guide with such disgusting eyes. Kellen could tell the kid looked young.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Young, young.
Kellen knew that wasn’t the case, since working in one of the Guiding Centers meant that you had to be of legal age, but that only spoke badly on the Esper’s part.
Kellen also didn’t know the man, and when he found his shirt, he realised he wasn’t wearing a Guild, or D.
E.
C.
uniform.
He was in plain clothes.
Grinding his teeth, Kellen marched forward and stood in front of the Guide.
The Guide, who had started crying more when the door hit the wall, turned shocked eyes towards Kellen while the Esper fucking growled at Kellen. “What do you think you are doing?” The Esper hissed angrily, and Kellen didn’t even bother trying to soothe him with a smile.
Instead, he leveled a hard, angry gaze towards him. “You’ve reached your limits with the Guide.
You should know better.” Kellen scolded, and the Esper snorted at him. “You must be new here.
I get to do what I want.” Kellen took him in, took in his build and what he said, and snorted. “And you must be an out of towner for you to say that to me of all people.” Kellen wasn’t bragging, but given what had happened in the last three weeks, he wouldn’t deny that he had been all over the news.
Local and national.
Probably even international.
It was a big deal for a Guide to jump Classes, and if this idiot didn’t know that, he was a fool. The Esper crossed his arms, snorting again. “I’ve been on the front lines.” He protested, and Kellen raised an eyebrow.
Then the fool had no excuses. “Oh?
And you still don’t recognise me or my clothes?
A pity then.” Kellen stepped forward and grabbed his wrist.
“What kind of Esper are you?” Kellen demanded harshly, and the Esper flinched.
He was clearly trying to break Kellen’s grasp, but Kellen clenched tighter.
His body knew that he needed Kellen’s touch more than the idiot did.
“Answer me.” Kellen demanded.
“T-Telekinetic.” He mustered and Kellen looked up at him, his eyes glowing and the Esper’s eyes widened. “Good.
Be good and shut the fuck up.” Kellen began guiding him as soon as the security team arrived at the door, but no one could say or do a thing.
It was against code to stop a guiding session like this, especially since the Guides who had followed as a part of the security team could sense how badly the Esper was actually doing. Instead, they turned to the Guide on the bed, but when the team approached him, Kellen’s piercing, blue eyes opened, turned and followed them.
They all froze. “Stand down.
I have taken over the situation.
Wait your damn turn.” Kellen ordered, and coming face to face with an A Class Guide, the other Guides froze.
Even the two Espers stood still. Kellen found that touching this man was disgusting.
He was filled with filth and bile.
Whatever was holding this man together was water-esque, but it had been contaminated.
What he was supposed to be staring at was a clear, beautiful lake.
Instead, he was staring at a disgusting bog filled with pus and bile.
Kellen wanted to throw up, but he was going to maintain the 15 minutes to get this fucker out of the way.
Taking the bad parts in, Kellen could feel himself growing ill, but held his shit together before his internal clock told him enough time had passed.
Looking over what he had cleaned up from this man’s insides, Kellen felt he had done a good job.
He was clear of about a third of the disgusting shit sitting inside of him. Opening his eyes fully, Kellen flung the man’s arm away and stumbled back.
The woman from the security team caught him, and he jerked out of her hold quickly.
Glaring at the people in the room, he glared the most at the shocked, stunned Esper who was now calm enough to realise what he’d done. “You are going to go back downstairs and pay for everything you’ve broken, and compensate the Guide who you put in this situation, am I clear?” Kellen threatened, and the Esper who was staring in stunned silence at his hands, looked up at Kellen in confusion. “What are you?” He asked, entranced, and Kellen wanted to growl at him.
Fucking newbie, that was what he was.
And a liar. “I am a damn Field Guide, now get the fuck out of here before I stop feeling generous.” Kellen barked, and grabbing his shirt and other things, the Esper scooted out of there.
Glancing at one of the Guides around, Kellen narrowed his eyes.
“One of you will grab my phone from the room I was kept in.
I need to make a call.” The woman who had tossed him into his room angrily was growing whiter by the second as Kellen stormed over to the dresser and yanked it open.
He found the same plate of grapes and cookies he’d consumed earlier and yanked them out with shaking hands. He knew he was going to throw up, but he needed to make sure he got the kid stable first.
Otherwise, he wasn’t going to forgive himself.
Marching over to the young Guide, because no matter how you sliced it, he was young, Kellen placed the food before him.
Reaching out with a gentle hand, Kellen plucked a grape and pressed it against the kid’s lips. “Eat.
You need it after the hell that man put you through.
It fuels and replenishes you.” Kellen’s tone was softer, but it was still an order.
One that a young Guide like himself wouldn’t be able to refuse.
Kellen was feeding him his sixth grape when someone came back. “U-Um, here is your phone.” The Guide stuttered, her hands shaking as she passed over the phone.
Kellen glanced back at her and found that she was a B Class Guide.
Someone Kellen would have envied at any other point in his life.
Right now?
He could only feel anger and sludge inside of him. Pressing speed dial, Kellen waited the three rings before she finally picked up. “Hey, can you send a full cooler of shakes to Guiding Center C for me?
Half of it is for me.” Kellen informed his friend, and heard her sigh on the other side. “You can’t be serious?
Were you involved in another surged Esper case?” Kellen glanced grimly around the room before he sighed. “No, I wasn’t, but it isn’t much better.
Can you make it quick?
I’m not feeling great at the moment.
The only reason I didn’t call him was because I knew he’d worry.” Taylor chuckled on the other end at Kellen’s words. “I’m going to tell him you said that.
I’m on my way to the conference center now.
Walking down the hallway as we speak.” Kellen’s eyes went wide. “Do not get him involved.
It’ll get blown out of proportion if he gets involved.” Taylor’s laughter grew distant as a sinking feeling filled his stomach.
Uh oh. “What will I blow out of proportion if I get involved?” Kellen knew his face had gone white, so he scrunched it up instead to make himself look angry. “You remember what we talked about before?” Kellen asked, trying to speak in code since he didn’t want to make an already tense situation worse.
He knew that everyone in the room could hear his phone call.
He wasn’t exactly hiding it. “Of course.
Did anything change?” Rhys asked quietly, and Kellen sighed.
He glanced at the young Guide, who was now slowly eating a cookie, and shook his head. “No, not really.
Just, tell Taylor to do as I asked.
I’ll explain everything when I get back after I visit the Peach Guild.” He intentionally mentioned their name, and watched as the few Guides and Espers in the room went white.
The Peach Guild was close to them after all, and Sakura was known for liking pretty things. “If I find out that one hair on your pretty head was harmed, Mr.
Woods, I might lose my mind.” Rhys said cheerfully, and Kellen snorted. “I promise I will be fine.” Kellen hung up and stood up quickly, shoving his phone into his back pocket.
Now that everything urgent had been dealt with, Kellen rushed to the bathroom, closing the door behind him.
Moving with practised motions, Kellen flipped the lid up on the toilet, ignoring all of the messiness in the bathroom, and threw up everything he had eaten before. He did his best not to look at it, but winced when the smell hit his nose.
It reminded him of what he had seen and touched inside of that icky man, and it made Kellen throw up again.
