Chapter 329: I know we should be talking, but…
“Should we…tell the other Captains about this?” Kellen asked Rhys. It was long after their meeting Lieutenant Fisher.
Charlie had responded well to meeting the other man, especially with the candy in his mouth, and Hill, despite the candy in her mouth, was threatening enough that Kellen and Rhys didn’t have to do anything. Kellen felt a little bad that Hill had been an unintentional test subject to Charlie’s powers.
Without their knowing, they had given her over to an S Class Guide.
They were known for being almost like a drug, and they had handed Hill over to him on a silver platter.
Kellen wouldn’t lie and say he wasn’t happy that Rhys hadn’t offered his help in that way. Kellen didn’t want to know how it felt to see Rhys get possessive over someone else while he was around.
Imagining it almost made him sick to his stomach. Rhys sighed, shifting, pulling Kellen closer against him.
They were lying down on the couch in Kellen’s apartment, with Kellen on Rhys’ chest, his body along his.
Rhys put his free hand behind his head, looking thoughtfully towards the large window looking over them. “I think that would be a terrible idea.” Rhys remarked, and Kellen tilted his head, watching him. “Why?” He asked, wanting to know what he was thinking.
Rhys sighed. “We already saw how Hill reacted this evening, and she’s only an A Class.
I do not want to know what Sakura or Sergei would be like after a taste of Charlie.
I know it sounds a little…crude, but that’s the fact of it.
A single drop of an S Class Guide could be like the sweetest poison to them.
I would rather keep Charlie as a secret, even telling them a fake story, or even his original origins.
Both would have great sympathy towards him if they found that out, and wouldn’t need to know his Class.” Kellen nodded.
He did agree with Rhys, he just wanted to know that they were on the same wavelength. “Yeah.
I would rather if Charlie wanted to make that decision, that he was able to.
Not forced to do so.
So…we tell them we found a Guide from Guiding Center C who was being overworked, I gave them my card, they came to the Guild and after being taken care of by my parents, we found out that they were from a child trafficking ring, or at least assumed so?” Kellen suggested and Rhys bent, pressing a kiss against his forehead absently. “Hmm.
That sounds good, and it isn’t a lie.
We just won’t tell them what Class he is, or if they ask, say he’s a C Class like he thought.” Rhys replied and Kellen sighed. “I just hope that Charlie understands how serious it is that he doesn’t tell anyone else about his Class level.
Only you, me, Casper and Hill can know.
I might tell my parents, but I feel like they would understand if we didn’t tell them.
Especially with the situation we’re in.” Kellen felt bad not telling his parents, but he did believe that they would understand.
Rhys grunted. “Between the terrorists that want your family gone, and the gate that wants everyone gone, we are in quite a pickle, aren’t we?
It feels like we don’t have enough time to enjoy each other.” Rhys sighed pitifully, giving Kellen a squeeze.
Kellen snorted. “Not enough time?
What the hell have we been doing for the last two days?” Kellen demanded and Rhys smiled down at him. “Catching up, of course.
I haven’t satiated my appetite enough to be able to just…taste you for the sake of tasting you, have I?” Kellen watched as his gaze dipped to that telling golden hue and he felt his mouth dry. “Uh, I’m afraid to ask what that means.” Kellen muttered and Rhys grinned, his golden eyes warm as he stared down at his pair.

His arm felt heavy and warm on Kellen’s back, but he could tell that it was moving further down.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out where he was going, and when his palm squeezed Kellen’s ass, he wasn’t surprised in the slightest. “It means, my dear, darling, wonderful boyfriend, that after we have bathed properly, I would lay you down after taking care of you properly, and feast on you until you are a mushy, warm Kellen melting into the bed.” Kellen blinked, the image he painted was a nice one, but at the same time… “Don’t you already do that?” Kellen asked, meaning his words and Rhys chuckled. “You are such a kind man, but that’s not what I mean, Kellen.
I haven’t been able to do that to you yet.
Between you overexerting yourself, all of the time we’ve been training, and the time we’ve been so busy we’ve barely had time to hold hands, I haven’t been able to just…fully enjoy you the way I want to.
Sure, I would love to sink into that hole of yours and make both of us lose ourselves in the pleasure, but I also want to watch you unravel under my hands.
I want to be the only one who knows all of your little secrets.” His words were intoxicating, and Kellen found his breathing uneven, his hands clutching onto the chest under him. “I, uh, I’m pretty sure you already unravel me, Rhys.” Kellen blushed, his face warm as he glanced up at him.
Rhys was grinning widely as Kellen spoke.
“I don’t think I’ve ever felt pleasure like what I feel with you.” Kellen murmured.
“Even when I masturbate alone, it’s not the same.” Kellen told him and Rhys pressed another kiss against his forehead.
It felt like a reward of sorts, and Kellen felt even more flustered. “Do you masturbate often?” Rhys asked, his voice dropping in pitch and Kellen knew what that meant.
The line that they had been toeing had been crossed, and Kellen swallowed.
The hand on his ass squeezed tighter, and Kellen wasn’t able to stop the soft sound that left his lips.
“Well, Kellen?
What’s your answer?” Rhys bent, his lips brushing Kellen’s ear, his breath warm and Kellen knew that any chance of having a more serious conversation was gone for the evening. He should have felt guilty.
Really, he knew he should have.
They had so much that they needed to get done, so much that needed to happen.
The therapy, Gunther, Casper’s issues, the Guides themselves, the gate, the terrorists, everything.
But Kellen couldn’t bring himself to care.
Instead, he raised his arms, wrapping them around Rhys’ neck and pulled himself closer to his lips. “Why?
Do you want to watch?” Kellen offered and watched in delight as Rhys grew flustered. “You’d let me?” Rhys asked, his mouth hanging open slightly, showing off his shock.
His hand even released from Kellen’s ass momentarily, before grabbing it with twice the force he’d had before.
Kellen winced, the pain shooting from his ass straight to…other parts of him. “Of course.
You did the same for me, didn’t you?” Kellen said, his eyes dropping to Rhys’ lips unconsciously, before Rhys groaned.
Suddenly, Kellen found himself flipped, under Rhys on the couch and Rhys’ hair fell around his face. The shadow it created made his already glowing, golden gaze pop, and his face was brought into sharp contrast.
Kellen stared up at the man whose expression had turned rather serious as he stared down at Kellen.
His normally perfect hair having already been messed up when Kellen had pounced on him in the doorway, wanting another mind numbing kiss. “You are getting greedy.” Rhys told him, and Kellen smiled up at him, his hands still around Rhys’ neck.
He moved his hands slowly up his neck, rubbing the hair and skin beneath his fingers and watched as Rhys shuddered at the touch, his eyes flickering closed before they opened again.
More potent, more powerful, and Kellen gave him a playful smile. “You like that I’m getting greedy.” Kellen told him, and Rhys exhaled.
He bent, pressing his nose against Kellen’s collarbone. “Too much.
Way too much.
How am I ever going to survive without you in my bed?
Without you by my side?
I just want to…wrap you up and carry you around in my pocket.” Rhys mumbled against Kellen’s skin and he laughed. “That’s impossible, and not healthy.” Kellen told him, his fingers still playing with the other man’s hair.
Rhys was clearly pouting. “I don’t care if it’s impossible, it’s how I feel.
And of course it’s not healthy.
My brain’s fucked up, Kellen.
It’s amazing that you still like me.” Rhys titled his head up, looking up at Kellen who smiled down at him softly, enjoying the feeling of Rhys’ hair against his fingers. “It is amazing that I like you.
It’s even more amazing that you are here, holding me on my couch in my apartment.
I couldn’t have imagined this in my wildest dreams.” Kellen told him and Rhys, who had been tense and ready for anything, softened immediately. “Your dreams about me didn’t have us getting wet and wild?” Rhys asked and Kellen shook his head. “No.
I barely spoke to you back then.
It was more…we’d talk more, maybe hold hands.
A lot more…intimate in an emotional way, I guess.
Not so much the physical way.” Kellen told him and Rhys sighed, pressing his head against Kellen’s protruding pecs.
He rubbed his face against them, and Kellen laughed lightly. “You make me feel like a damn pervert.
I want to tell you what my dreams were about, but I have a feeling you can guess the direction they went.” Rhys muttered against the fabric of his shirt and Kellen smiled. “That’s because you are a pervert.” Kellen told him and Rhys sunk his teeth suddenly into the fleshy part of Kellen’s pec and he gasped. “That was for calling me a pervert.” Rhys said, pressing kisses against the stinging bite.
Kellen tugged on his hair, pulling his head back.
Rhys looked like a cat who’d gotten into the cream, all smug and unrepentant.
Kellen shook his head. “I do not have a habit of calling people what they aren’t, Rhys Thatcher.
And you, like Brent and Hill and many others around me, are a pervert.” Rhys frowned, clearly displeased but Kellen softened his words by pressing a kiss against his lips.
“Now, does this pervert want to watch me masturbate, or not?” Kellen whispered against his lips as he pulled back, staring into the beast’s gaze above him. He watched as Rhys swallowed, before he jerked his head in a nod and Kellen laughed.
He pulled him in for another kiss, and Rhys took over, pressing him against the couch.
Kellen could feel his smile against his lips as they tasted each other, all other concerns forgotten for the brief moments that they had together. It wasn’t what Kellen had thought being with a pair would be like, but it wasn’t something he hated either.
Being able to find time like this, time together where the rest of the world didn’t matter and it was just the two of them?
It was precious, and something he wasn’t even aware that he didn’t have. Now?
Now he would dare anyone to try and take this from him.
He would never allow it.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS CalyB Kellen knows that he should be focusing on other things, but he just can’t help himself when he is alone with Rhys.
This will be a common trend coming up.
If he wore lipstick, the Captain would often have it smeared all over him.
