Chapter 389: Boundaries are a good thing to have, but not right now (suggestive)
“Yes, they do. It’s…something that can become a lifestyle choice. Some people like it, but I think from your facial expression, it isn’t something you’re interested in.” Rhys said with a smile. Kellen was still reeling from this new information.
Sure, Kellen had done a little research into this, but he hadn’t done a full deep dive like he had wanted to. He’d been busy. He felt like he had a pretty valid reason to be busy, and had to look up sex toys during business hours. Technically, taking care of Rhys was part of his business, but that was complicated.
Not many looked up toys on company time, and if they did, well, that was none of Kellen’s business.
“Okay. So what does that mean? And what even is this? I just…I know I like certain things, and so do you, but do we have to label it?” Kellen asked, hoping he didn’t sound ignorant. Rhys smiled, shaking his head.
“No sugar. We don’t need to label it. I just thought you might like it if we did. Uh, the name for the relationship is pretty easy to understand. One of us would take on a dominant role, while the other would be submissive. What those dynamics are related to are something we would decide, very similar in the way we have these kinds of conversations in our sex life as well.” Kellen nodded, but he didn’t see a reason to do so.
He appreciated that Rhys was explaining this to him, but he was quite content with how their relationship was working out at the moment. He liked that with just a few words, he was able to turn the tide of Rhys and take the more dominant role in their relationship. Maybe that was what Rhys was talking about. Did they need a code word, like the safe word that Rhys had mentioned forever ago, to initiate that kind of change?
“Okay. I can see why people would want that, but I don’t really see the point with us. Not because I don’t think we have that dynamic. I know we do, but I like how it feels right now. I don’t know if I want this to extend outside of our home.” Kellen said and Rhys held him closer. The feeling of his hardened cock against his thigh was still quite distracting, but he was doing his best to ignore it.
“Understood. If you just want it in the home, do you want a signal or something? Did you want me to take on a leading role at home? Like dominant? Or did you want to?” Kellen shrugged, unsure. He knew that having this conversation was important, but at the same time…
“Does it matter? Are you asking this over and over because you want that kind of thing? It’s okay if you do. I just…I’m pretty content with how things are going right now. I don’t feel rushed. I enjoyed today. I would agree that we should probably come up with a word for when one of us wants to be dominant, or submissive respectively.” Kellen suggested and Rhys froze, before he closed his eyes, resting against Kellen’s bare skin.
“Ah. I guess that does sound like I really want to force it. No, I just…if it’s something you want to explore, I want to make sure that you know I’m okay with it. Whatever it is.” Kellen felt that Rhys wasn’t being fully honest, but he didn’t push it. Because at the same time, he sounded sincere with his words. Rhys might want a specific dynamic to their relationship, but he himself hadn’t noticed.
Kellen felt a little smug thinking that he had realised it before him, but he wasn’t going to rush him. It was cute, actually.
“Rhys.” Kellen said, wrapping his hand around the back of Rhys’ neck. Rhys jerked.
“Yes, sugar?” He replied, his voice quiet.
“Is this about the collar conversation earlier? Are you really wanting one?” Kellen asked quietly, watching Rhys’ reaction like a hawk. Rhys pulled his head back, his yellow gaze turning to Kellen’s face as well. His expression was a little open, a little vulnerable.
“I…well, it doesn’t have to be a collar. I just…I like the idea of something that shows everyone that you belong to me. Or that I belong to you. I just…want that comfort.” He muttered quietly and Kellen felt himself swoon.
This big, powerful Esper, who admitted that others had made assumptions about him based on the fact that he was an S Class, and who just wanted to make sure that Kellen liked what they were doing, was happy with their relationship, everything, was being shy and cute now. Kellen’s lips twitched, before he pulled Rhys closer, kissing him.
Rhys angled his head, probing Kellen’s lips so that he could slip his tongue inside, tangling their tongues and lips in a deep, toe curling kiss that had Kellen short of breath when he pulled away and his own cock hard and willing in his lap.
“You’re so damn cute.” Kellen whispered and watched as the most handsome man he’d ever seen in his life turned bright red. His whole face, and down to his shoulders and chest.
“I-I’m not the cute one.” Rhys protested and Kellen smirked.
“You are. You are adorable and cute and sweet. Sure, there have been some…less cute moments, but this? Damn it Rhys. I think I am going to have to get a collar that has ‘Kellen’s property’ in jewels.” Rhys’ gaze widened as his breath caught, before he shuddered. Kellen’s thumb rubbed back and forth on the back of his neck as he stared at the other man, watching him as he grappled with Kellen’s words.
“I would like that.” Rhys whispered. “I would really like that. I’d wear it all the time.” Rhys said, his eyes going molten gold. Kellen felt a shiver run down his spine. “What should I get you?” Rhys asked, pulling Kellen closer. In fact, Kellen saw a look cross Rhys’ expression before Kellen found himself turned, and pressed into the bed. On his back, his hand still on the back of Rhys’ neck as the other man straddled his hips, his black hair falling into his face.
“I don’t know. I don’t think a ring would make sense. Too dangerous.” Rhys furrowed his brow and Kellen smiled. “I’ve seen too many horror stories of Espers and Guides who wore their wedding bands on missions and contracts and they ended up losing the ring entirely.” Kellen explained, and Rhys’ expression relaxed.
“Ah. I would hate for you to lose a finger.” Rhys said, balancing so that he was able to grab Kellen’s other hand, raised it to his lips and kissed Kellen’s ring finger. It was an intimate act that had Kellen feeling flushed and embarrassed when it was just the two of them. Alone.
“Maybe I’ll also get a collar? Probably not as flashy, but I’d allow your initials.” Kellen teased, and Rhys grinned.
“You’ll allow it, huh?” Rhys said, leaning down and Kellen slid his hand up and into his hair. Kellen nodded.
“Yes. Allow. I’m not the one who suggested I put a collar and a leash on you and let the public see. In the conference room. Could you imagine the looks on the other Captain’s faces?” Kellen asked and Rhys bent, kissing Kellen as he smiled.
“I would love to see how Tom reacts. Watch him try to say something. I have no shame, not when it comes to you. Anything to make you happy. Anything. I never want to clip your wings. I never want to put you in a box. Even if I have to fight my nature, I just-” Kellen sunk his fingers into Rhys’ hair, yanking his head back, forcing him to be quiet as he met Kellen’s gaze, surprised.
“I appreciate the thought, Rhys. I do. I understand what you are trying to say. You don’t want to treat me like the other Guides, like other partners. You’ve been doing a really good job with that. Truly. But who’s to say that I don’t want to be in a box at some point, hmm? We’ve barely explored this other side that you’re trying to introduce me into. I don’t know if I like being tied up, or anything else. So before going on a huge tirade about how much you care about me, think about the other parts of it too, hmm?” Kellen teased, leaning forward to bite Rhys’ bottom lip. Rhys was shaking above him.
“Sugar, don’t speak to me like that. I’ll get worked up. I was going to just go to bed after this.” Rhys complained. “You need your rest.” It seems he felt a little guilty after having his way with Kellen the last time his students had gone off. Kellen chuckled.
“Get you worked up? If I remember correctly, someone told me that they were always ready when it came to me. How am I the one getting you worked up when you’re the slutty man who came in his pants?” Kellen knew it was a low blow as Rhys shivered, closing his eyes for a moment as Kellen turned his gaze towards Rhys’ cock. It was already dripping, and Kellen was almost certain it was because of the words leaving his mouth.

“Kellen, please. Warn me when you are about to call me a slut. I need, ugh, I need a warning.” Rhys whispered and Kellen slid his fingers down his scalp, his nails pressing in slightly. He watched Rhys’ reaction, the way he jerked as Kellen’s nails scraped down his neck, going down his back. Kellen shifted slightly, trying to scrape further before he grinned and bent, biting his collar bone. Rhys jerked, moaning, and Kellen released the skin he’d bit with a smile. Then, he turned over on his stomach, taking his hands off of Rhys entirely and sliding them down his sides, stomach, butt, until he was holding onto his thighs.
“Did you want to slide your cock in between my thighs, Rhys?” Kellen asked, turning to look over his shoulder at the beast he was prodding. He knew the moment the thread Rhys had been trying to hold himself back with snapped. Rhys growled, his hand going down on Kellen’s shoulder, pushing him into the bed.
“You damn tease. You aren’t allowed to complain that your thighs hurt tomorrow, or complain that you can’t sit down without it stinging. You’re being bad, and bad boys get disciplined.” Kellen was pretty sure he could get addicted to this. He was right though. They were going to have to come up with a word to clarify between who was going to be dominant or not.
It could get confusing when they both wanted to be dominant. Or…it could be fun.
