Chapter 407: It’s not called a safe word for no reason (m)
Kellen’s nipples felt sore and his ass stung. Every time the fabric from the apron slid over and rubbed against his bright red nipples, Kellen moaned. Shit.
He’d underestimated Rhys. That was very foolish of him. Why did he do that?
Rhys had warned him and Kellen thought he could match his freak right away. There was a reason that Rhys was edging him into it.
Damn it, his nipples stung. It hurt. It actually wasn’t just a sting, they pulsed with pain as Kellen struggled against the ties on his hands. It wasn’t out of fear, but he was trying to escape the attention of Rhys.
It wasn’t working.
“Trying to escape? Bad boy.” Rhys’ voice filled Kellen’s body with anticipation. Every time he had called him a bad boy, Kellen’s body had received some kind of punishment. Apparently Kellen wasn’t supposed to fight against the pleasure that Rhys was giving his body. He was supposed to be a good boy and ‘take it’.
Kellen was not good at following instructions.
“W-Wait! My nipples hurt.” Kellen wasn’t above begging at this point. The apron was askew, wet in places that would have made Kellen a few weeks ago blush at. Kellen wasn’t even sure how many times he’d cum, nor how many times Rhys had covered him in cum either. He wasn’t sure if he was sticky with sweat or other substances.
Rhys looked up at Kellen from where he’d been peppering Kellen’s thighs with kisses. It was his most recent area he was tormenting. His teeth would scrape against the tender flesh, making Kellen wiggle and give Rhys a reason to smack Kellen’s ass. His ass which had one of Rhys’ toys inside of it. It was a little prostate toy, something Kellen had considered, but hadn’t bought.
With each movement it rubbed against his prostate, with each slap it gave Kellen pleasure. Kellen was reaching his breaking point.
Rhys’ smile reached his eyes as he looked up at Kellen’s body from his thighs. His legs were shaking, his grip was tight on the ropes tied around his hands, he was panting, his face flushed. He looked thoroughly tasted and savored, and his nipples were the perfect bright red colour. Nice and swollen.
“Sugar, if you’re done, you know what you need to say.” Rhys said, pressing his lips against Kellen’s thigh. “What the word, Kellen? What do you need to say to end our play?” Kellen felt his whole body tense. He hadn’t used it yet. He honestly felt like it was throwing in the towel. Hell, they hadn’t even done anything too crazy. Rhys had just tied him up and kissed and bit him all over until Kellen was exhausted.
He felt bad saying it. He felt like he was letting Rhys down doing so. Maybe that was a bad thought process, but it’s what he felt.
“D-Do I have to? Can’t you just stop?” Kellen asked and Rhys paused. The smile faded slightly from his expression, but he didn’t turn cold. Just thoughtful.
“Sugar.” Rhys said from his bent position between his legs. “The safe word isn’t a bad thing. It’s there to help you. I want you to get used to using it so that you don’t feel nervous saying it if we get into something more serious and you freeze up. I am obviously checking in with you, I know you’re at your limit, but it’s important for you to feel comfortable with it. Is crochet a word you don’t want to say?” Rhys’ gentle tone made Kellen feel a little ridiculous.
“It’s not that.” He mumbled. “I feel like I’m letting you down if I say it.” Kellen admitted and Rhys’ face fell before he shifted. He moved up, his bare chest centimeters above Kellen’s as he placed his hand near Kellen’s head, his other cupping Kellen’s cheek. His gaze scanned Kellen’s face, his face full of concern.
“Oh baby. No. No. I don’t want you to think that way. You are not letting me down. It’s not even something like that. It’s safety. It’s to keep you safe. I would never want to make you fear anything that I am doing to you. You would hate it if the roles were reversed, wouldn’t you?” Rhys asked softly, carefully, and Kellen sniffed. Rhys was gentling him, caring for him, but all Kellen could think about was how close his chest was to his already sore nipples. He really didn’t want Rhys to get any closer.
“No. I wouldn’t.” Kellen agreed. Rhys sighed.
“You would hate it if I didn’t say anything when we were in a situation like this, wouldn’t you? You’d get mad at me for not telling you sooner, wouldn’t you?” Kellen didn’t like how the man was right, and from the way Kellen’s face twisted, Rhys could tell. Rhys leaned in, kissing Kellen’s slightly swollen lips. “So say it, Kellen. And we’ll end this and I’ll get something soothing for your pretty nipples, okay?” It was tempting. Very, very tempting.
Kellen fought his stubbornness, his desire to never throw in the towel, give in. It was Rhys’ nipple rubbing against his own by accident that was the deciding factor.
“Crochet.” Kellen mumbled and Rhys sighed.
“Good boy. Thank you for saying it.” Rhys said, kissing Kellen deeply, shifting so that Kellen didn’t have to worry about his nipples being touched. Kellen sighed into the kiss as Rhys reached up and began to untie Kellen’s wrist with his fingers. He massaged Kellen’s sore wrists as he set them free, continuing to kiss Kellen the way he liked.
Kellen felt his body relax into the mattress, his body relieved that they were finished. Rhys kept kissing him, holding him carefully, taking care of him as Kellen came down from the play. Rhys’ kisses when he pulled away from Kellen’s lips were soft, playful, careful. Kellen let out a deep, satisfied sigh.
“You’re dangerously good at this.” Kellen murmured and Rhys chuckled.
“Only you think so. I was terrible at after care for the others.” Rhys admitted easily and Kellen froze.
“What? How?” Kellen was upset for Rhys. He was doing such a good job for him right now and Rhys met Kellen’s gaze. He smirked. Rhys collapsed, wrapping his arms around Kellen, making sure to not touch his nipples. Kellen was a little slower about wrapping his arms around Rhys, mainly due to the fact he wasn’t used to moving his arms down after they had been tied up.
“Kellen, I’ve been an S Class Esper for a long time.” Kellen nodded. He couldn’t argue about that. That was just the truth.
“Yes. And? Does that mean that you weren’t expected to take care of others after doing this kind of thing?” Kellen asked and Rhys gave him a light squeeze.
“Yeah. Kinda. You yourself should have realised it. You were carrying around a kit to help others out as they guided others. Aren’t you surprised that it was on Guides to be the ones who were careful and had everything for a ‘sudden guiding session’?” Rhys’ voice carried an edge to it that Kellen couldn’t understand. Was he upset? Angry? Why?
“Well, it is up to the Guides. Why should Espers be expected to have the same supplies on them?” Kellen asked, and Rhys grumbled.

“Why shouldn’t they, Kellen? What makes Espers and Guides so different? Why are Guides the ones who are burdened with everything? Why are they supposed to be the ones who have to carry all of the weight of our powers when it’s our damn powers? Yes, you are here to help, but it isn’t as if this doesn’t have a toll on you either. You guys are the ones targeted the most by organisations. You guys are the ones that live in fear. Why are you the ones who have to-” Rhys cut off.
Kellen didn’t have to be a genius to tell that he was upset. He also didn’t have to be a genius to tell that he was upset for Kellen’s sake.
A soft feeling filled him and Kellen let out a soft sigh.
“Can we have this conversation after you’ve taken the prostate toy out of my ass and I’m in the bath?” Kellen asked softly, reaching for Rhys’ head to run his fingers through his hair. Rhys relaxed into Kellen’s touch, the tension leaving his body as Kellen’s fingers soothed him.
“…Yeah.” Rhys agreed. “I should finish taking care of you, like I promised.” He said. Despite both of them saying that, they continued to lie down, wrapped in each others arms in the quiet.
It was a soft moment, before Rhys shifted and leaned in, planting a soft kiss against Kellen’s lips. “You are everything to me.” Rhys told him softly, his gaze yellow, endless, as he met Kellen’s blue gaze. Kellen let out a soft breath.
“You are everything to me too.” Kellen said back and a soft smile touched Rhys’ lips. He planted another quick kiss against Kellen’s lips before he got up, removed the toy from Kellen and then picked him up in his arms, carrying him to the bathroom.
The tub was already filling as they entered and it was a luxury to have an Esper who could do such things. Kellen would never think it wasn’t.
Rhys didn’t seem to notice Kellen’s thoughts, instead he helped Kellen out of the apron, a small smile on his face as he did so, before he gently placed Kellen into the tub. The water stung as it hit his ass and Kellen sucked in.
Rhys froze.
“It’s fine. Just stings a bit.” Kellen told him and Rhys let out a shaky laugh.
“You have to be careful, Kellen. My heart is tied to you. I thought I was going to die if you were more hurt than I thought.” Rhys told him seriously and Kellen glanced up at the man. His hair was a mess, falling into his face and Kellen felt a small smile touch his lips. He reached up, noticing the marks around his wrists as he did so but he didn’t stop. He touched Rhys’ face and Rhys leaned into the touch.
“You of all people should know how hurt I am.” Kellen replied, a smile breaking across his face as Rhys flushed.
“You’re right. But maybe it was something internal? I can’t know that.” Rhys complained and Kellen grinned.
“The only way that would have happened is if you shoved something big and hard in my ass, hmm? Instead, you tortured me with that little prostate toy. Demon.” Kellen said as he pinched Rhys’ cheek. Rhys grinned, pulling away from Kellen’s touch to turn and search through the cupboards in the bathroom. He returned with some bubble bath.
“Well, you aren’t quite begging yet, are you? I told you I’d make sure you were ready. You aren’t quite there yet.” Rhys teased, his smile reaching his yellow eyes and Kellen smirked. Wasn’t ready, his ass. Rhys was just stalling at this point. Kellen had a feeling that he was going to have to be the one who made the next step.
He wasn’t opposed to it.
