Chapter 387: Slaying the Beast
Nikolai gritted his teeth, letting his body swell with black blood pumping everything into his heart and back through his veins.
“Leona, can your girls transform?”
The question was simple, but from the moment he saw her the other night. He realised that not all women could transform fully. He learned the maids weren’t pure wolves; some held the mixed blood of wild dogs or wolf-type monsters.
“I…”
“It’s fine if they aren’t werewolves, I just don’t want them to die!”
Their lives meant more than family tradition to Nikolai.
Most of his wives were not wolves, but other races.
However, many clans didn’t think this way and believed it a shame to accept those with thin blood, or too much human blood in their family. Nikolai planned to remove this point from the clan laws and tenets.
“We can maintain a pseudo transformation at best!”
His gaze switched from the Basilisk to the women; they looked worried and fearful of Nikolai when he mentioned the word transform.
But Nikolai couldn’t let them die because of honour or pride.
‘Who would care if they are half-blood or full-blood!? They have served Volkov well all these years.’
“Trust me Leona, please!”
“I…”
Leona’s heart throbbed; his sharp gaze held nothing but sincerity.
She once showed him her disgraceful transformation, and soon after, he slept with her. It was enough for her to trust him, at least for now.
Leona gave a sharp whistle.
The sound cut through the chaos like a command drilled deep into their bones.
The maids didn’t hesitate.
Their faces became feral and aggressive, and their bodies tensed as their skin and muscles rippled; the sound of bones cracking echoed, not all at once or cleanly.
This half shift wasn’t like an elegant or magical transformation of a pureblood. These women were pushing their bodies to the limits, causing pain and enduring to awaken their weak monster’s blood.
Limbs thickened, claws punched from fingertips. Eyes glowed gold, silver, or red. Some grew tails, others fangs. One girl let out a low snarl, her jaw halfway dislocated, fur running up the side of her face like wildfire.
They weren’t beautiful like stories claimed.
They were wild.
Dirty.
Half-monster.
But their power was enough; each woman who held their gun with both hands could now use one while running and avoiding the enemy’s attacks. Their strength is equal to that of an Adult Monster instead of a young adult.
The strongest Leona looked more beautiful than the previous night, her golden brown fur shimmering in the underground light.
Leona stood at their front, shoulders rising and falling, eyes narrowed with heat and pride. Her arms were covered in fur now, claws sharp and deadly.

“My Lord, we are with you until the end.” She panted, breathing with a heavier sound. “No matter how far, or what you need!”
This might have been the first time a Patriarch asked the maids to help him fight.
An honour.
Greater than any other request!
“I’d love to admire how sexy you all look right now, but it’s a shame we have to fight this bastard.”
Maybe because of them being more human, but the transformation made their bodies more alluring and sensual, breasts and thighs bigger with a more pleasing shape, the muscles in their buttocks and thighs tightening their figure to the limit.
He spoke out loud to help boost their confidence, as the next moment, the black blood in his veins reached saturation and he also transformed.
Nikolai exhaled slowly.
His blood burned, thick and heavy like tar. The scent of rot and madness seeped from the crater, stirring something ancient inside his chest.
The other women felt it immediately; his scent and atmosphere changed.
Leona took an unconscious step back, even the half-turned maids following a sense of fear greater than the Basilisk because of their similar races.
However… it wasn’t just fear, but another primal emotion and desire.
The woman swallowed, lusting over their master’s figure.
Addicted to the scent from his body.
He closed his eyes.
And let go.
A heartbeat passed.
Then another.
Nikolai’s spine stretched first, crack after crack as vertebrae shifted and bones groaned, muscle tearing and reforming. His hands split open as claws burst from flesh. Black fur spread up his arms like oil, swallowing pale skin in a creeping tide.
His legs snapped, twisted, and thickened. His chest expanded with a brutal pop. His teeth fell out, pushed aside by jagged fangs far too long for any natural wolf.
The change was clean.
Flesh warped, shadows undulated and curled around him unnaturally.
The area around him darkened as if pushing all light away from him, veins pulsing beneath his skin, while his second heart raced faster as if to compensate for something.
“…”
“Master…”
His growl filled the air, it carried a weight that bent the air and caused all the maids’ skin to tingle.
When it ended, Nikolai stood eight feet tall, hunched beneath the clouds, breath fogging with each exhale.
An Evil God.
A werewolf shaped by a nightmare,
He looked at the Basilisk and the crater before he dropped with arms spread.
***
BANG!
When he touched the floor, a deep crater formed from his fist, smashing the ground. A moment later, the soft sound of over ten female wolves dropped behind him, tapping the walls after taking a safer path.
“Grrrrr!”
Against the Basilisk that groaned in pain and aggression, Nikolai cracked his neck.
The Basilisk hissed, steam rising from the cracks in its scaled hide where bullets had struck earlier. Blood sizzled from its wounds, thick and sulfurous. Its massive body twisted with surprising speed for something significant, tail whipping across the cavern like a guillotine.
Nikolai lifted his arm, tensing the muscle and blocked it.
Thud!
The impact sounded like a wrecking ball crashing against a piece of reinforced concrete, resisting the blow entirely. The force dragged his body back, claws digging trenches into the earth. Sparks flew where his claws caught metal beneath the cave floor.
“Hahaha!”
A low, sarcastic laugh left Nikolai’s lips as he gripped the Basilisk’s tail, his fingers cracking the hard plating as it howled and screeched.
“Shut up.”
Nikolai yanked the tail, before lowering his hips, all the muscles in his thighs, waist and stomach tensing as he growled, lifting the beast and with the tail in his hands, almost crushing it into meat paste, he launched the bastard across the cave.
Shudder!
The impact crushed the Basilisk’s skull into the floor with a meaty, wet crack. A shockwave rippled out, knocking loose chunks from the cavern ceiling. The maids, still perched along the walls, howled in response.
He slammed the beast into the wall, exposing its delicate stomach; “SHOOT!”
Because it wasn’t dead.
The maids didn’t hesitate.
Click-clack—ten rifles snapped to shoulders, fangs bared, golden eyes glinting in the cave’s low, hellish light. The moment its underbelly flashed exposed, they opened fire.
RATATATATATAT!
Silver-core rounds howled through the cavern, ripping into soft flesh. The Basilisk shrieked, its body thrashing, tail slamming against the walls as blood sprayed in long arcs. Acid hissed wherever it landed, eating rock, dirt, and steel.
“Focus fire! Under the ribs!” Leona barked.
The beast spasmed, vomited black ichor, and twisted violently to defend itself.
However, Nikolai jumped over its head and, with both hands together, smashed down like a hammer, straight into the Basilisk’s head.
It opened its maw to unleash another chemical breath.
Nikolai roared louder.
And shoved his entire arm down its throat.
The Basilisk thrashed in a frenzy, the walls shaking, stalactites dropping like knives.
“Stop!”
With one hand holding its mouth apart, the other grabbing its tongue. Nikolai sliced the meat with his claws, tearing it from the beast’s mouth.
The Basilisk bucked, a horrible, gurgling shriek ripping from its torn throat as Nikolai yanked the severed tongue free. Blood geysered from the stump, a boiling mess of black-red acid that sprayed across the cave floor in hissing splashes.
‘It hurts like hell!’
He jammed his knee into the base of its skull, forcing its head down, pinning the serpent’s jaw to the ground.
“Now!” Nikolai shouted.
More gunfire erupted as the maids repositioned, firing in coordinated bursts—silver bullets striking between scales, punching deep into soft tissue on the beast’s stomach.
Two climbed down to flank the thing, getting close enough to fire point-blank beneath the ribs and along the inner leg where the armour was weakest.
The Basilisk’s muscles spasmed under Nikolai, each thrash shaking the ground. Its tail swung wildly, smashing into the stone walls, sending debris flying. One maid took a hit, tumbling down the slope with a cry, her shoulder bleeding. Leona slid after her, catching her mid-fall and pulling her back to cover.
Nikolai’s claws buried into the beast’s skull as it tried to twist free.
However, the end was near as a crack ran along the Basilisk’s skull, creating a pool of black blood, before a sickening crack! Its head tore open with a sickening wet sound, revealing warped brain matter and a twisted spinal core pulsing like a dying heart.
Nikolai drove his hand inside and crushed it.
The Basilisk gave one last shudder and went limp, its massive frame slumping like a felled tree, jaw hanging slack.
Silence.
Steam hissed from the corpse.
The cave stopped trembling… and became serene.
The fight was over.
Exhausted, he dropped from the beast and fell to the ground, a smile on his face as he returned to human form, his clothes destroyed by the acid, revealing his prideful naked form.
“Master!”
