Chaos Devourer System - Chapter 173
Chapter 173: A Strange Mission
“My mission?” Zeras asked confused.
“Yes. But before that let’s begin with a minor explanation of the Ruins…” One of the commanders said nudging Zeras to a sit, to which he gave a respectful bow before sitting.
“The Celestial Titans Cultivation Ruins is an unexplored cultivation area which according to reports should be an Ancestral ground of a certain ancient race…” Commander Leviron explained drawing a nod from Zeras to indicate he was following.
“But in the report, it was stated the place was clearly abandoned and deserted around a thousand years ago. All traces of the ancient race have disappeared and no information was learned about them, except that the name of the ancient race is…” Commander Leviron said looking at Zeras to pick up on the information and he truly did pick up as he finished the words.
“Celestial Titans…” Zeras said out loud but within he couldn’t help but wonder of the meaning of Celestial in the name. Could it be like the so-called Celestial race, Gaia said she always dreamed about where coming for her.
“Yes. Although we still know nothing of who they truly are or why they abandoned the ruin, it is nonetheless a cultivation-friendly rune, infused with treasures that they would have thought of as grass and stone but to us humans, it is an otherworldly treasure that the entire world would overturn to obtain…” Commander Leviron said.
“The location of this ruins…” Commander Leviron said as he suddenly clapped causing a holographic image.
“This is where it is located at the most desolate area of the galaxy…”
Zera’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the gigantic planet in front of him, with his eyes furrowed.
The strange thing about the planet was its completely golden color, it looked pretty small and it was as if a massive chunk of its part had been cleanly sliced in half making form the shape of a hemisphere.
“The Ruins itself in not on the planet, but actually a runic door at the centre of the planet itself that leads to the ruins, and that door only opens once in a hundred years.
Zeras, this is an incredible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the might of an ancient race with an estimated history of more than a million years. So definitely take good hold of this opportunity…” Commander Leviron said to which Zeras gave a nod.
Apart from being a cultivation ruin that can improve his strength, it was more of an opportunity for him to learn more, and complete a quest given to him by the System.
“With that said, let’s talk about your mission details…”
“Actually, it’s kinda very simple and it is an obligatory type of mission. Meaning you have a choice whether to complete it or not, the main purpose of the mission is to gather treasures…”
“Gather treasures?” Zeras asked as his watch suddenly beeped.
“We’ve learned of some special treasures that have been brought out of the ruins in past expeditions. If you can obtain those artifacts that have been sent to your watch, then expect great rewards from us.
And also if you obtain a mysterious artifact but you can feel the smell that states this is good stuff, then you can keep it and bring it to us, we will use the treasure analyzer to check the grade of the artifact and you’ll earn extra rewards for that…
Remember, this is an expedition. You’re completely free to use the treasure as you like and you can hoard it for yourself. None would blame you for that. It is obligatory…” Commander Leviron said as Zeras stood up from his seat and gave a respectful bow.
“With the name of the EIA before my words, I promised if I found something present on the list that was given to me or one I felt us exceedingly great, then I’d try my best to obtain it and complete the mission, so far it only strengthen the EIA more…” Zeras said drawing an approving nod from the officers.
“That’s the spirit of a true EIA member. And also, we have a little something for you to accompany you on this mission…” Commander Leviron suddenly said nodding to one of the commanders at the side who brought out a small golden-coloured ring that slowly floated towards Zeras.
“This is a Techno-gamma grade spatial ring. It is a storage equipment, contained within, the space of a medium-sized room. Simply pour your mana into it to activate it and it becomes yours forever.
It is also very secure as it can only be opened on your death which will cause your Mana imprint to fade away. So far you’re alive then you can forever forget about anyone stealing anything from it…” Commander Leviron said as the ring fell into his palm.
Zeras grabbed it and slowly inserted it into his left middle finger. A small amount of of his mana was directed into it and he was amazed by what he saw in the next second.
“Thank you, Officers…”
“And here…” Commander Leviron said throwing towards him a strange green card.
“Oh…”
“That is a teleportation card. Crush it and you’ll be immediately transported away from where you are and to a thousand kilometers away from your previous spot, although the spot won’t be fixed. This card might just be a second life if used properly, so use it well, Zeras…”
“Thank you, officers…” Zeras gave a respectful bow as all the officers slowly stood up and moved towards the exit but Commander Leviron turned to look at him in the last second.
“Remember Zeras, your survival comes from before anything. Your death would not only be saddening but also a very great stain on the EIA’s reputation. Do you understand…”

“Yes Sir…”
“Good, Sergeant Dolan will follow you on the mission. It’s a total of 27 hours to get there even though the ship is moving at Mach 7 speed. So make sure to rest well and prepare your mental state.
Also, the duration of the event is only a week before you’re transported back although there might be time differences in the ruin itself. Good luck and enjoy your expedition…” Commander Leviron said before finally exiting while the spaceship itself rumbled to life.
The AI voice immediately resonated throughput the entire hall
“Journey to The Celestial Titans Ruins will now begin.
Flight duration, 27 hours. Please sit down tight for the next minute as the spaceship takes off.”
Zeras breathed out a sigh of relief as he wiped away the slight perspiration on his face.
He had no idea why, but whenever he stands in front of the higher-ups, he’ll never be able to completely keep his calm. It was as a feeling they could completely see through him, something his very secretive self hated very much.
Strapping himself to the seat, he slowly felt the slight tumbling of the entire white hall before suddenly he felt like he weighed nothing as his body floated above the chair for an inch.
“Anti-gravity feature will now be employed…” The AI voice rang out as Zeras once again slammed his butt in the seat.
“Congratulations, we’re now on our way to the Ruins. Enjoy the flight…”
