Chaos Devourer System - Chapter 80
What is That?
“You all have completed the Beginners training…” Instructor Moneca said loudly as the cheers of the New cadets rang out and even a small smile appeared on Zera’s face…
“I never thought it would be that easy…” Zeras said as he also raised his hands and clapped.
“Since you all can fairly do well in piloting a spaceship, I can say you at least have expectations on surviving in this career.
So, to get familiarisation with the drive, your remaining two hours of classes will be spent driving around the desert to increase your familiarity…” Instructor Moneca said causing a smile to appear on the New cadet’s face who couldn’t help but feel their hands itching.
“I know you’re all excited and can’t wait but there’s a few warnings I must give you.
Firstly is that, don’t drive more than 2 thousand kilometers from around this place. Past two thousand kilometers and you’ll start coming in contact with the Mutant beasts of the desert. Trust me, you don’t want to cross them at all this early.
Secondly, you’ll be given a contact card rune, just in case of mishaps. Once you encounter a problem, get out of the Spaceship using the Safe button and then snap the card in two. I should get to you in less than a minute…” Instructor Moneca said as the students all took a card and entered into a spaceship before slowly driving off.
Zeras also collected the card, eyeing it curiously as he couldn’t help but notice the strange lines drawn on it which were strangely infused with Mana, although it was in a very small amount.
He immediately dipped the card into his front pocket as he entered into the spaceship once again.
Immediately pressing the green buttons and moving the controller forward, Zeras ascended into the air and he immediately disappeared into the distance amidst the leftover purple energy emitted from the engines…

1,900 kilometers from the Spaceships Park…
A spaceship could be seen drifting around in the air as it sometimes spiraled around, sometimes suddenly blitzed forward with speed while it rose and fell in a specific rhythm sometimes.
Zeras felt he was having the best time of his life as he indulged himself in the feeling of flying in the air, all types of tricks possible to do with a spaceship had already been done as Zeras felt he could easily pilot the spaceship like having to use his hands.
There were times he escaped crashing into the desert by the skin of his teeth but he always managed to quickly get back up before truly crashing.
The sight of the desert stretched as far as he could see with waves of air blasting around the space making sand fly around in the place.
Even though it was silent and with only a single painting, he enjoyed the sights as he piloted the spaceship, just moving around the spaceship…
Zeras sat back in the chair as he looked at the time and it was only about ten minutes more before the class ended.
“Let’s get back…” Zeras muttered as he slowly turned the spaceship when suddenly something caught his eyes in the far distance as he watched the sand suddenly strangely rising.
One might have taken it as just another sand wave due to air but not Zeras as after watching the sand wave for almost two hours straight, he was well aware the sand waves move erratically and quickly stopped back.
But although this one was a little far away, it was no doubt closing in on his direction.
Zeras raised an eyebrow due to the strange occurrence as he said out loudly…
“Activate Radar to a thousand kilometers…
“Radar activated to a thousand Kilometers, an object has been detected moving towards the spaceship.
Objects are being scanned…
Scan complete, a Lifeform has been detected.
Lifeform found, a Meteor Rank Rattlesnake Beast has been discovered moving towards Spaceship…” The AI voice rang out as Zeras sat there shocked.
“A..a… Meteor rank stage beat?”
The speed of the wave was incredibly fast as he discovered it would catch up to him in just half a minute.
“Fuck, I’m not yet at the Two thousand Kilometers mark.” Zeras immediately brought out the card and he crushed it in his hands.

Done with that, he immediately pushed the control forward as the spaceship moved with horrifying speed back toward the direction of the camp.
“Life form is 100 km from the spaceship. Now at 70 km, 40 km, 20, km, 10 km…”. The AI voice rang out as a vein popped on Zera’s head.
‘Fast, it was horrifyingly fast…”
Zetas suddenly felt a gigantic shadow cast over his entire spaceship and when he looked behind him, his jaws couldn’t help but drop to the ground as all his hair stood on end…
“What the hell is that!!!!”
Zeras looked behind him as he saw the head of a gigantic snake rising from above the sound, its fiery crimson red eyes already locked on the Spaceship.
One had to know he was about 200 meters into the hair, yet the snake’s head was just behind the spaceship leaving him to wonder just was the size of the spaceship.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM”
Zeras felt something hit him as the spaceship was immediately sent crashing to the ground.
His brain worked at full speed as Zeras took a deep breath in to calm his fears before his eyes narrowed to slits as a horrifying calmness shone in his eyes.
He knew there was hope as he already crushed the card about 30 seconds ago and Instructor Moneca would soon be here in less than 30 seconds. All he had to do was stall enough for 30 seconds.
Zera’s hands moved towards the safe belt as he unlocked it before his hands moved towards the side of his seat as he slammed his hand on the safe button.
A hole immediately opened up from the top of the spaceship and a figure was immediately thrown out of it.
“KABOOOOOOOOOOM”
A fiery explosion rang out through the desert as the spaceship crashed on the ground immediately blowing up to fire as its pieces were scattered across the space.
Zeras gently landed on the ground with the aid of the parachute at the last second as he quickly removed that from his shoulder.
However, he successfully avoided crashing together with the spaceship, which would have no doubt turned him into a coal. He knew he had an even greater enemy around.
The desert was strangely deathly quiet, which unnerved him even more as his heart thumped loudly within him due to fear.
Fear of the unknown.
